Ahem, I have a plan to request ZeLink in the next Legend of Zelda game because TP sorely ignored there beautiful love. The plan is this: I wrote a very long and detailed letter and I am gathering signatures to put with it. At school I have at least twenty-four, including myself. If you wish to sign the letter just PM me your name or something and I'll put it on. Hopefully the letter will make it there. I will post the letter as soon as I have more time on the computer. - much love - ND

DH signs this and petitions for LxZ hints in the next game, not a full blown out romance-so we can leave some to imagination!

Hints are too subtle! We need more than just hints! I want a developed, believable relationship, and that does NOT have to mean a make out scene, or even a simple kiss. I just want Nintendo to CLEARLY establish a strong connection between Link and Zelda for once. It's always been to subtle and iffy. *pouts*

What an awesome idea, I'm SO signing it! It would be amazing if it reached Nintendo...

Signed. It's so BLATANTLY obvious Nintendo even considers a relationship between Link and Zelda, that I want them to develop it further on. Hints here and there are fine and all, but does it has to go on for a series about 19 years?

Nintendo deserves to hear the fangirl's cry after the disappointing lack of hints in TP. giggle.gif

-signs her name-

Link and Zelda really deserve to have their relationship to go further. Its not right for Nintendo to start something and never finish it. It makes me (and other people!) very angry. D:< I really really want Nintendo to give a sign, more hints, SOMETHING. Their love is so wonderful to not be noticed...Nintendo really needs to patch it up, and at least give us more. Its not fair that they give hints in all the other games, and leave us hardly any in TP. (or so I've heard, I haven't played it yet. ;_; )

Thank you all. The letter was written in a formal, business letter format to where they will hopefully take us seriously. The letter asks for a direct Zelda is Link's love interest in the next LoZ game. Because really hints and pokes is all fine and dandy but I'd prefer a solid romance. laugh.gif

Oh yeah, I'd love a solid romance too, with kissing and everything (so long as it's T-rated, ehem), but I seriously doubt we'd get that. *sigh*

I hope not to become a target of hate in this matter, but doesn't anybody think that this letter is a little much? *hides from crowd*

Nintendo might read the letter, but the over powering of fans of that just like the game play will surely win them over. I mean, I liked TP for their game play and storyline. Even though ZeLink lacked, I have to admit that this is one of the greatest games in time. To complain that ZeLink wasn't in there a lot is alright, but making a letter and taking it to Nintendo yourself? I feel that as though it is a little extreme.

But don't get me wrong. I love zeldaxlink. This game made me want more, especially when they showed how beautiful Princess Zelda was. However, I have nothing really to complain about! The ratings for all magazines have been high 10s! Nintendo, gave it a 9.5. Funny, huh?

I don't think this letter is too much. Nintendo probably gets this sort of stuff all the time, and I doubt it will affect them much. First of all, I don't think it'll get enough signatures to make much of a statement, and second, why would some letter from the fans make a difference in game development? I'd definately still try, though.

About Twilight Princess, I have to disagree about the storyline. To put it simply, it just wasn't very Zelda-ish. Think about it, Zelda was hardly in it at all, Ganondorf seemed to have been put in there as an afterthought, and even Link seemed to be a secondary character. It was all about Midna and Zant, Midna and Zant. Zelda and Ganondorf should have had MUCH more important roles, and don't say they did. It wouldn't have made a crucial difference if they weren't in the game at all. And as for Link, I hated how he never seemed to do anything for Hyrule because he wanted to. It was always what Midna told him to do. Midna called the shots and he did the dirty work. Don't get me wrong, I love Midna, but she just hogged the spotlight a bit too much. Link is the Chosen Defender of Hyrule, but I never really got that vibe from TP, despite how many times he was addressed as such. It was just different in OoT... OoT was about Link and Zelda and their fight against Ganon to protect their realm of Hyrule. Sure it's nice to mix it up a bit, but you can do that without abandoning the main characters.

I also find it pathetic that the word "Triforce" wasn't mentioned once throught the entire game! Sure they showed it in that one cutscene, but it just wasn't enough to get across exactly what it is and how important it is. The connection between the three Triforce keepers was not established at all.

I think I would have loved the storyline if I wasn't a hardcore Zelda fan. But because I love the characters Zelda, Ganondorf, and Link, I have a sort of love-hate situation with it. For what it's worth, it's still a wonderful story, just not very Zelda-ish.

But, they say the Legend of Zelda is turning a different direction of what it use to be, aren't they? It wasn't exactly Link doing what Midna requested, it was more of "Link had no choice". He had to save the world, and it wasn't just Midna telling him too either. Link wanted to do what he had too (I wont mention spoilers), but how was he going to do with without getting Midna's help? In a way, it was a good mixture of adding Midna into the mix. Plus, not every Link can just pop out of no where and understand their destiny. This hero is just as great as any other Link because it shows reason for him taking up his destiny.

But I guess I'm wrong? I mean, in terms of how ZeLink wasn't in the game, I can argue on how i hated it too. But I really like this game. Everybody has their own opinion I suppose. I really am sorry if I've offended you Ingie, or anyone else for that matter.

EDIT: Oh, and I wanted to add in that this game is just great with or without ZeLink. I love the couple, but I guess that i'm not 'hardcore' like that. I'm a hardcore fan of the series in general, I have played since Nintendo Zelda was released. I joined this forum for that reason: my interest in the couple. Not exactly proving and wanting it that bad in the game. Does that make me bad?

Wait, I wasn't even talking about Zelink... Zelda doesn't have to have a relationship with Link to make the story good. But she does have to be in the game as a well developed character. Same with Ganondorf. I never said I didn't like the storyline much because there's no Zelink. Sure, it puts a damper on it for me, but that's not what makes a Zelda game.

It's true Link didn't have much of a choice in the beginning, but after a while he did. He coud have easily just walked away after the Twilight was lifted from Hyrule, but he didn't. This is obviously because he has a good heart and he does wish to help, but the game never really clarifies his feelings on this. However, I will admit it's difficult to do that without having him speak, so maybe I'll just have to accept that Link will always be limited as to how much he can express himself. I just think OoT Link had more of a sense of duty, while TP Link seems to have a sense of mere obligation.

Don't worry Hylia Princess, you haven't offended me. smile.gif This is all just my opinion, it's okay if you disagree. But storywise, I still prefer OoT, and it's not just because of Zelink.

QUOTE (Ingie @ Dec 28 2006, 09:49 PM)
Wait, I wasn't even talking about Zelink...

Oh. I feel dumb. I assumed this because of the topic title. But, I want to reply with some things, but I feel as though I will go off topic. >< Should I make a new thread? I wanted to talk about the lack of Ganondorf in other games and having Vatai in there. Like Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask.

You can, because I do have a response to your point about Ganondorf and I don't want to get more off topic either. ^^;

I want to sign the letter >_< I haven't beaten TP (not to bitterly mention I haven't gotten the game TT) I totally agree there's so little Zelink moment, and now Midna is going to annoy me (sorry Midna fans) ... One of my friends had beaten the game and said that there are more Zelink moments and he even showed me this cutscene (which is so cute), but I still think it's Zelink-deprived...he's a guy, after all. We, ladies, tend to see these romance thing deeper o.O
