Title: Fav. Zelda OOT Melody
Sk8ierBoi - June 22, 2006 04:46 AM (GMT)
What melody did you enjoy listening in OOT?
I LOVED the Saria song the most because it was such a relax song and I loved the beat. I loved going in the woods and just hearing the song. It made me feel very calm and relaxed. Another song I liked was Epona song, I enjoyed playing that song all the time even though the horse was right next to me. -_-
Dirty Harry - June 22, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
Zelda's lullaby. All the way dude.
AmayaSaria - June 22, 2006 09:09 PM (GMT)
Ooooooo~~!!!! I loved every song from OOT. I love how you got to play them all them during the game......Saria's song is one of my favorites...so catchy!
Oh but Zelda's lullaby! That was an absolutely lovely song....so pretty. Have ya guys ever heard the orchestra version of it? It's so lovely! It makes me so sleepy....^_^
Paladin's Heart - June 23, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
Minuet of Forest. Doo doo doo, doo doo doo!!! ~. Its such a catchy little diddy, with a nice ending ^_^.
Bolero of Fire was good too.
Oh, and out of the Ocarina songs, I LOVED the Gerudo Fortress music, the opening with the guitar was a nice way to lead into the main beat.
Alantie - July 11, 2006 03:39 PM (GMT)
Zelda's Lullaby, hands down. But I also liked the Song of Time, Bolero of Fire, and Serenade of Water. All very pretty songs.
I haven't heared the orchastrated version of Zellie's Lullaby Amaya! Do you have it? I'd like to hear it! ^_^
I just went to see how much the OoT soundtrack was on amazon and nearly had a heart attack. 49 DOLLARS?!?!?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *weeps* I guess that means I shall be Ocarina musicless :(
Paladin's Heart - August 14, 2006 03:06 PM (GMT)
-revives-
The Fairy Fountain theme in all Zelda's, ne? That's the most notable Zelda song besides the Main theme.
Out of OOT, I loved the Dark Overworld theme in LTTP. Have any of you heard the instrumental version? It's a very nice piece, and I recommend listening to it. Also the Piano version as well.
And lets not forget the Main Theme of Zelda, hmm? That's one of my favourite pieces of music. Koji Kondo's a genius, hmm?
EDIT: Oh and the credits for LTTP. That was a very nice piece as well. :)
Lutearina - September 1, 2006 04:12 PM (GMT)
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOOOOOOOSE! D:
Well, I suppose I'd have to say Zelda's Lullaby. It is SUCH a gorgeous piece, in all it's simplicity. :)
HyruleMaster - March 19, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
I kinda liked the "Last Battle" the best. GAH, I hate choosing! They're all so wonderful!!
But the most creative, I think, is Kotake and Koume's theme. It's kind of a tight melody with an answer and call duet thing... It sounds like the instruments are arguing, which fits their personality perfectly. I don't know... I thought it was clever.
Of course I love Zelda's lullaby, too! ^_^ I fall asleep to it-- it's sooo relaxing!
Oh, and I also like Kakariko village... Loved the harmonization there...
I'll shut up, now.
JediNate - March 20, 2007 10:49 PM (GMT)
I'm either for the Song of Time or Saria's Song. Both are great. I got caught whistling Saria's Song at a competition though, so I may just have to go with that.
LZ Angel - August 8, 2007 06:28 AM (GMT)
I love all of the songs :D Saria's son was definitely one of my favourites - mostly because you actually got to hear more than 8 notes of the song :P
However, did anyone else find the music of the Forest Temple creepy, or was that just me? Personally, when I was younger, I was afraid of that temple :ph43r:
(and the shadow temple, but thats because things jump out at you with no warning! Its scary! :ph43r: )
gr33n_sl33ves - August 8, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
I absolutely loved the Song of Storms, though Bolero of Fire certainly rocked my socks.
(Side note: When Sheik taught the Bolero to Link, with what "he" said, if I hadn't know Sheik was really Zelda in disguise, I would have thought that Sheik was coming on to Link XD )
But I love Zelda's Lullaby too. In one of the TP trailers, the one with the orchestral medley of Zelda tunes, I get all teary when Zelda's Lullaby swells, every freaking time I hear it, and I'm a heartless bee-otch :P
LZ Angel - August 8, 2007 06:51 AM (GMT)
lol, I thought that too (about Sheik I mean). Except, first time I played the game, I didn't know Sheik was Zelda (I was honestly shocked, though it explained a lot....hey, I was only like 11 >_<), but still thought Sheik was female (the pretty music helped that impression).
Speaking of which, I loved the music for Sheik. It was such a sweet piece of music - I just love it ^_^
gr33n_sl33ves - August 8, 2007 07:03 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Sheik's music was too pretty to be for a guy (well, a straight guy at least  )
But yeah, all the music in OoT was great. I quite like Ganon/dorf's theme too. Every time I hear it, I want to sit in a high backed chair, stroke my cat and laugh menacingly
LZ Angel - August 8, 2007 07:06 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Ganon's music was alright. I didn't really like the boss music - I got sick of it after awhile, lol.
And I think we should keep you away from high-backed chairs and cats then....:P
gr33n_sl33ves - August 8, 2007 08:25 AM (GMT)
But my cat is so petable, and high backed chairs are so comfortable!
The Sun Song will always have a place in my heart, for it is one of the few things that can stop a ReDead from humping you to death x_x
LZ Angel - August 9, 2007 08:48 AM (GMT)
Stupid Redead <_<
I never really liked the Sun Song though - it was too short. I liked the songs where you heard more than 8 notes when you were in certain areas (like Saria's Song and Zelda's Lullaby ^_^)
gr33n_sl33ves - August 16, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
Short as it may be, I adore it for the ReDead stoppage, because I hate them SO. FREAKING. MUCH.
But in all honesty, I have yet to hear a song in any Zelda game that I didn't like :P

Then you must really hate them in TP when they have the huge Cloud buster swords. XD *shivers* >_>
Hmm... another OoT melody I like is Zelda's lullaby. It's so musical--what really makes it good is the constant eigth notes after the main melody. You can do so much with it. ^_^ I'm currently making my own arrangement of it for my band to play. X3
gr33n_sl33ves - September 5, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
Haha, schweet!
But I think the great thing about pretty much ALL the melodys, be they from OoT, MM, WW, or TP, is that they're so simple that someone with little to no musical skill can sit down at a piano (or use pretty much any other instrument) and plunk out one of the tunes :D
LZ Angel - September 15, 2007 02:44 AM (GMT)
Well, what I like about most of the OoT songs is that they sound really pretty, particularly the longer versions (as in more than the 8 notes you play).
That might be why I don't really like the Sun's Song (well, I like it because its useful, just not as a song). Its not like the other ones....its not pretty! :(
Most of the teleportation songs are pretty cool - particularly Bolero of Fire ^_^
Cuccopower - October 2, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
my favorite gots to be the Song of Time.
TOTALLY. D:
gr33n_sl33ves - October 8, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
Bolero of Fire, of man, I can't listen to that without thinking of Sheik's speech XD
It is something that grows over time... a true friendship.
A feeling in the heart that becomes stronger over time...
The passion of friendship will soon blossom into a righteous power and through it, you will know which way to go...
This song is dedicated to the power of the heart...The first time I read that, in my head it sounded like Sheik (AKA Zelda) was hitting on Link XD
(Amusing fact: Ravel's Bolero, which has been touted as an erotic piece of music, was originally going to be used as the
opening music for the original Legend of Zelda XD )
gliderpilotgirl - October 9, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
Nearly impossible to pick:
I have the Hyrule Symphony CD..and the Bolero of Fire sounds amazing.
It wasn't just the words Sheik said..the cutscene flashed back between their faces and the surroundings..like the music and surroundings were not the only thing heating up.
( My view is that Sheik was Zelda in her head..and her emotions were coming out )
Same goes with the Song of Time, it's really pretty orchestrated.
It's literally "their song" as said by Zelda in MM. So pretty too. :)

lol, I remember thinking that too (but I always assumed Sheik was a girl anyway (apparently I missed the 'man' hints) - this was before I knew Sheik was Zelda - so it didn't really bother me).
Yay for more Zelink hints! ^_^
Silver - March 7, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
my favourite melody is:
*Zelda Lullaby
*Sheik Theme
*Epona Song
*Temple of Time Song
*Prelude of Light
*Requiem Spirit
Hylian Sword Master - March 7, 2008 05:10 PM (GMT)
I haven't gotten all de melodies and I may change it but here goes.
-Forest Temple/Fire Temple
-Fire Temple/Forest Temple
Least fave- Sun Song
the rest are some where in between :D
Saami - March 8, 2008 12:51 AM (GMT)
My top three songs would be:
1) Bolero of Fire
2) Epona's Song
3)Saria's Song
Bolero of Fire was absolute love. I loved the whole cut scene between Link and Sheik as I see the two as being close friends (since I am one of the *very* few stubborn and delusional people who refuse to believe OoT Sheik and OoT Zelda are the same person), which is why Sheik said what he said.
Epona's Song is a cute piece. And I think it helps Malon stay connected with her mother, wherever she may be.
And Saria's Song is fun. I loved the scene when you play it for Darunia. Link's expression is funny, especially when he backs away.
Zeruda - March 8, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Bolero of Fire. It's sooo... I dunno. It's just really cool. There's a lot of feeling in it. It matches the hot location perfectly, and I associate the melody with fire and passion.
Twilight Whispers - March 29, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
I think my favorite is Song of Storms, followed very closely by Zelda's Lullaby. Saria's Song is pretty good, and so is Bolero of Fire. I loved the scene when Link and Sheik were playing Bolero of Fire together in the mountain ^_^
Hylian Cetra - December 12, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
I. am. so. late.
dropping by o.o
OMG I love the song of time.... just lovelovelove hearing it, that one and the song of storms.
Zelda's lullaby has always been a favorite, but in OoT I just had to play it so damn much. XD
MalonsLover - December 12, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
Of course Eponas song is my favorite but I generally liked all the songs from the short and simple rain and sun songs to the more long winded Bolero of Fire, Serenade of Water ect ect. They all had their own unique melody IMO.
KokirianClockwork - December 14, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
Egh, I can't decide. The opening song is awesome, Saria's song makes me feel good, Zelda's song makes me feel melancholy, Song of Storms is simply epic, Song of Time I hum without noticing, Epona's Song I love singing...
I guess it depends on my mood.
I do believe that if an OoT movie trailer is ever done, it's the Song of Storms that should be used. For the epic, for the darkness it can represent, without holding down the light. It's mystery.
Dun dun duuun.
Oooh, and Ganondorf's theme.
Twilight Mistress - December 18, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
My favourite Zelda song would have to be Zelda's lullaby and the Song of Time. :P
Crystal187 - February 4, 2009 12:50 AM (GMT)
Ooh, toughie. They are all so beautiful, in my opinion. If I have to choose, however, I suppose these are the ones that strike me the most out of the Ocarina songs:
1. Song of Time
2. Requiem of Spirit
3. Song of Storms
Outside of ocarina songs, I must mention Gerudo Valley - probably one of my favorite songs ever. Oh, and a song I bet no one ever thinks of: the Great Deku Tree. On my mp3 player, I have an all-brass version of that song by the remixer Standing Man, and it was absolutely epic. I can find it online anymore. :(
Princess-Of-Hyrule - February 19, 2009 02:13 PM (GMT)
Falls-44 - August 18, 2009 10:55 PM (GMT)
One thing I love about the Zelda games is the musical scores :) And OoT had a very diverse selection!
My favorites would have to be:
1. Staff Credits Theme (song that plays at the end)
2. Zelda's lullaby
3. Minuet of Forest/Serenade of Water (they're tied for me)
WhiteFlag - June 16, 2010 06:17 AM (GMT)
1. Zelda's Lullaby
2. Credits
3. Gerudo Valley
Zelda's Lullaby always reminds me of Zelink. That's why I almost tear up whenever I hear it in modern Zeldas.
The credits... the crescendo at the end with Zelda's lullaby... so beautiful.
Gerudo Valley is exotic and dancy xD
All the music was pretty great.
zerdax - June 20, 2010 03:17 PM (GMT)
Zelda's lullaby and Song of storms are epic. I agree with WhiteFlag so much.
