Title: Love Beneath the Trees
Description: The official Inuyasha/Kagome club!
Angel Zelda - April 21, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
Welcome to Love Beneath the Trees, the official Inuyasha/Kagome club!
This is a place where shippers of Inuyasha/Kagome can disuss this pairing! If you're wondering where the club name came from, the name for it came to me when I noticed that Inuyasha/Kagome appears to have some kind of tree theme. I've seen a lot of Inuyasha/Kagome fanart where Inuyasha and Kagome are up in a tree together, and there are several scenes in the show where Inuyasha and Kagome are either sitting in trees or are sitting beneath a tree together.

Ooh, I'm in! InuKag forever!!
If only InuYasha wasn't so stupid and they would just get together already.....I LOVE the scenes with Koga though (InuYasha is all jealous and protective and cute ^_^)
Angel Zelda - April 22, 2008 12:25 AM (GMT)
Personally, I think Inuyasha and Kagome can both be petty and ridiculous sometimes. But I bet that after ten to twenty years of married life, Inuyasha and Kagome would look back on their teenager days and find them funny.
And I love seeing Inuyasha get jealous over Kagome, it's so much fun to watch. When he's jealous of Koga, Inuyasha angrily argues with him constantly. When he's jealous of Hojo, Inuyasha picks swordfights with him. And when he's jealous of Akitoki, Inuyasha gives him the cold shoulder.
By the way, LZ Angel, I added you to the list of members.
LZ Angel - April 23, 2008 11:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks! :D Problem is I likely won't be here very much, but oh well! I still love InuKag!
And picks sword fights with Hojo? And Akitori? Is that manga stuff? (I've only seen up to about 110 or something of the episodes - I forget where i stopped...lol)

No, it's in the anime (I'm so terrible with keeping up with mangas that I just don't bother with it much).
Inuyasha picks a swordfight with Hojo in episode 128 because he saw Hojo and Kagome about to hug in episode 127 (it was during a school play Kagome was acting in). You'll have to watch episodes 127 and 128 to get it.
As for Akitoki, he appears from episode 139 to episode 142. Akitoki is Hojo's ancestor who becomes infatuated with Kagome, and Inuyasha DOES NOT like that AT ALL. :D But instead of arguing with him or picking a fight with him, Inuyasha just gives Akitoki the cold shoulder.
LZ Angel - May 1, 2008 07:58 AM (GMT)
Hmmm....I really should watch the rest of the episodes then, lol. Maybe in the holidays.......jealous InuYasha is amusing to watch :D
Thanks for letting me know where all that stuff happened! :)

You're welcome, LZ Angel. And yes, Jealous!Inuyasha is adorable. XD
Okay, so here are some questions we can discuss:
What InuKag moment is:
a) the most powerful?
b) the most beautiful?
c) the most gentle?
d) the most passionate?
e) the most hilarious?
f) the most happy?
g) the cutest?
h) the saddest?
i) the angstiest?
j) the most frustrating?
k) your favorite?
Would Inuyasha and Kagome get wedding jitters?
Kagome announces to Inuyasha that she's pregnant. How does Inuyasha react?
Would Inuyasha ever pull an Anakin Skywalker? In other words, do you think Inuyasha would become evil if he thought it would save Kagome from dying (whether in childbirth or because of something else)?
I'll post my answers to these questions later.
LZ Angel - May 2, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
Not sure about the moments one, but I'm pretty sure Inuyasha wouldnt' react well to kagome being pregnant. I think he would automatically assume it was Koga or someone, and get all jealous, lol.
Either that, or he'd faint. I can so see him doing that :P
And yes, I think Inuyasha would easily become evil if he could save kagome by doing so. He obviously loves her, and I think he'd go through hell for her ^_^
Angel Zelda - May 3, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
You know, whenever I imagine a scenario with Kagome telling Inuyasha she's pregnant, I always assume that they've been married for some time, maybe for a year or a year and a half. So I doubt Inuyasha would assume Kagome went and slept with some other guy and get jealous, but I could definitely see him being all, "You're WHAT!!!!" and then passing out. He might also ask really stupid questions because he's still in shock, like about who the father is.
About the "Inuyasha becoming the next Darth Vader" question, yeah, I believe he would go evil if it meant saving Kagome's life. Inuyasha has been shown to being crazy enough about Kagome to put her life and safety above his own life and what he needs. Becoming evil if it meant saving Kagome wouldn't be so uncharacteristic of him.
About the "wedding jitters" question, I think both Inuyasha and Kagome would get wedding jitters, but for different reasons. Kagome would worry about her dress, her hair, how the day will go, etc. Inuyasha would be worried (although he probably wouldn't say so) about what he would have to say during the wedding ceremony, the wedding night (you know he's going to worry about that! ;)), if he'd be a good husband to Kagome and a good father to their future kids, and stuff like that.
Twilight Mistress - May 10, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
I personally can't picture Kagome and Inuyasha getting married; if anything they'd just live together.
Anyway, you can just read the manga online to get caught up to speed with the InuxKag moments that have taken place, occurring several issues after the original anime was cut off. There's actually one scene where they pretty much portray their feelings for one another, except they were interupted.

Hello, Twilight Mistress. Would you like to join? I can put you on the list of members if you want to.
Anyway, about the moments question:
What InuKag moment is:
a) the most powerful? Whenever Kagome gets Inuyasha out of his full demon form. I think it's very telling that she's the only one who can calm him down when he's become completely beserk.
d) the most passionate? The InuKag kiss in the second movie! :yay: I LOVE that moment!
e) the most hilarious? In episode 51 (I think), when Inuyasha is fussing over an injury Kagome got in a battle.
g) the cutest? In episode 89, when Inuyasha makes a medicene to cure Kagome's cold.
h) the saddest? When Inuyasha thinks Kagome has died in episode 107. :( It's really sad, and Inuyasha even sheds tears.
i) the angstiest? At the end of episode 52, when Inuyasha worries that Kagome might be killed when he goes into his full demon form again.
I just need answers for B, C, F, K, and J.
Twilight Mistress - May 10, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Sure, I'll join. I'd have to say that the manga expresses their relationship better than the anime, though. That's partly because the anime abruptly stopped in the middle of the series; the manga has come a long way since then, and their relationship is deeper and more meaningful; it's more pronounced. It's like they're no longer afraid to show each other their true feelings, which is, as I said in my earlier post, portrayed in that one moment in the manga.

Okay, Twilight Mistress, you're added to the list.
EDIT: Since this thread's been sort of dead for awhile, here's another question to discuss:
When did you become an InuKag shipper?
I first started supporting InuKag when I actually sat down and watched an episode (at that time, I was only vaguely aware of the show and hadn't given it much thought). The episode happened to be episode 129, where a pig demon named Chokyukai uses a mind-controlling tiara to make Kagome think she's in love with him. I thought Inuyasha's jealous reaction to the situation ("Over my dead body!") was amusing, and I wondered why Kagome got irked by Inuyasha's comment of, "Young and pretty? I don't see anyone like that around here." I eventually became an InuKag shipper.
Twilight Mistress - June 3, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
Well, I guess it all started about five years ago, when I was thirteen after having first seen the second or third episode. The way they reacted towards one another was amusing.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of funny, too. I don't think Inuyasha and Kagome are like John Bender and Claire Standish (from The Breakfast Club) in the "I hate that I love you" sense (although it was really Claire that went from hating John to liking him; John was always attracted to her, I think), because the minor arguments that Inuyasha and Kagome get into every now and then can be quite entertaining to watch. I bet they secretly enjoy their little arguments. ;)
Twilight Mistress - June 4, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
lol They probably do enjoy fighting with one another. I've just recently started watching Ranma 1/2 and I absolutely love the relationship between Ranma and Akane. Not only does it remind me of Inuyasha and Kagome (partially because Ranma 1/2 was created by Rumiko Takahasi, the one who also created Inuyasha), but it is also amusing to watch. lol It's like watching Inuyasha and Kagome in an alternate timeline.

That sounds cute. You know, one of my favorite couples is Aang and Katara from Avatar: the Last Airbender, and I think it's like watching Inuyasha and Kagome in a different universe. Aang and Katara don't argue a whole lot, but their relationship and the situations that they get into (as a couple and as indiviuals) are similar to Inuyasha and Kagome.
How much do you want to bet that Inuyasha and Kagome's arguments turn into flirting and/or playful banter?
Twilight Mistress - June 5, 2008 03:51 AM (GMT)
lol They purposefully pick fights with one another. As time goes on, though, their relationship strengthens and they're more serious with one another. That's why I love that one scene in the manga; I actually never thought that Inuyasha would have the guts to portray how he felt about her. He swore to her that he would protect her, no matter the cost. They probably would have kissed if they weren't interupted.
Btw, I've seen that show a couple of times. Those two do seem like the perfect match. ^.~

Quite frankly, I'm sure that even if Inuyasha never actually told Kagome in words that he would always protect her, he still would be willing to protect her no matter what, even if it meant losing himself in the process. Inuyasha always struck me as the kind of guy who uses his actions rather than his words to let Kagome know how he feels about her--the whole saying of, "Actions speak louder than words."
Twilight Mistress - June 6, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
Agreed. He's not very strong with words, which is one of the reasons for why they're always fighting. lol I just thought it was cute that he actually told her he would protect her. He's really never said anything like that to her before.

Yes, it's very cute. :) Inuyasha's growing up! *tears*
And maybe another reason why Inuyasha doesn't use words to tell Kagome how he feels about her is because he thinks it'll make him look like an idiot?
A random thought: Wouldn't it be funny if Inuyasha just blurted out those three little words to Kagome while they were arguing? :giggle:
Twilight Mistress - June 19, 2008 02:00 AM (GMT)
*sniffle* I just read the last chapter of Inuyasha...
SPOILER -- Highlight to read
Kagome ends up choosing to live with Inuyasha in the Feudal era, leaving her family behind in her world. Feelings are definately shown between the two, but there's no actual communication to express their feelings for one another! They don't even kiss! >.> Grrr... He kissed Kikyou, but not Kagome? Bleh. Oh well. And oh, yes! Sango and Miroku have kids. It's cute. ^^
Angel Zelda - June 19, 2008 03:58 PM (GMT)
I read the last chapter of Inuyasha, too, and I gotta say (highlight to read), Kagome living in the feudal era and becoming a full-time priestess was something that I expected, so I'm happy I was right about that. It's a shame we don't get an InuKag love confession, or even a kiss, but Kagome does call Sesshomaru, "brother-in-law," when he comes to visit Rin, so Inuyasha and Kagome are obviously married. (YAY!) I imagine there was plenty of time for all their pent-up emotions to be finally released (if you know what I mean!), even if we never actually saw it.
Twilight Mistress - June 20, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
HIGHLIGHT -- She does call him brother-in-law! I must have missed that somehow... And then again, Souta DID say that she was going to get married, but at the time I thought it was just another exuse to dissmiss the fact that Kagome was no longer in her world. In any case, I'd say that Inuyasha and Kagome knew all along how the other felt. I mean, they're no longer embarrassed to do certain things with each other. They're actually pretty mature! ^^ The only thing that I wonder about is whether or not Kagome still feels that she's second best compared to Kikyou, because she is, in a way, filling in Kikyou's spot, if you know what I mean. I also wonder what they would do about aging, simply because Inuyasha is technically immortal and Kagome is human, which means Kagome will eventually grow old and Inuyasha will be left behind... Anyway, on a brighter note, they're together at the end! ^^
Angel Zelda - June 20, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
Highlight--No, I don't think Kagome feels like Inuyasha's simply settling for her or that he thinks she's another Kikyo. After all, he's told her time and time again that "Kagome is Kagome." Really, I don't think Kikyo's going to be a problem in Inuyasha and Kagome's marriage. (But if Inuyasha caught some guy (even if the guy was drunk) hitting on his Kagome, that's another story. ^_^)
As for the aging business, I'm not really sure. I once imagined it to be an Aragorn/Arwen situation. Yes, Arwen gives up her immortality to be with Aragorn, but she still lives on for ages and ages after his death and eventually dies of a broken heart. That might be what will happen to Inuyasha when Kagome dies--he (in the words of Elrond) "will linger on, in darkness and in doubt ... until all the world has changed and the long years of [his] life are utterly spent."
Ugh, that was despressing (but somehow pretty) to write. But on a more lighthearted note, it'd be really funny if Inuyasha and Kagome are being affectionate with each other, and Shippo says, "I think I liked it better when they were arguing."
Twilight Mistress - June 20, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
lol Yeah, it would be cute if Shippou said something like that. It would be typical coming from him, because it would mean that Inuyasha would get a pretty nasty "sitting". You know, I actually kind of miss the arguing because it was funny to watch Inuyasha's face being driven into the ground. :P

That's basically what the sit command is for--to give people something to laugh at. One of my favorite sit moments is in episode 100 of the anime. During this episode, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, and Shippo are trapped inside a cocoon and are being tortured by nightmares of their worst fears. Inuyasha's trying to break the cocoon and get the others to snap out of their dreams, and he dares for Kagome to tell him to sit. At the end of the episode, after everyone's been saved, Inuyasha pesters Kagome to sit him, so she does.
Hmm...sounds like Inuyasha secretly enjoys Kagome sitting him? ;)
Twilight Mistress - June 21, 2008 03:42 AM (GMT)
lol I don't think so... In episode 168 Sango tries to "sit" Inuyasha which caused him to flinch. He does like picking fights with her though, lol. :D

You know, I've sometimes wondered why Inuyasha and Kagome seem to enjoy arguing (after all, very few of their arguments are very serious--I think the only serious arguments they have is when it concerns Inuyasha's jealousy). It is just a case of "you fight with the one you love the most" or for the sake of humor or what?
Twilight Mistress - June 22, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
lol Well, when they were embarrassed about their feelings they tended to pick on one another, but really it was just subconcious flirting. Oh, and the really serious arugments were the ones that involved Kikyou, seeing as though Inuyasha was two-timing Kagome.

Agreed, it was a situation of "they fight 'cause they can't make out," or unresolved sexual tension.
| QUOTE (Twilight Mistress @ Jun 22 2008, 01:13 AM) |
| Oh, and the really serious arugments were the ones that involved Kikyou, seeing as though Inuyasha was two-timing Kagome. |
But could it really be called two-timing? I mean, I dislike Inuyasha's interactions with Kikyo as much as almost any other Inuyasha fan (it either makes me want to gag, makes me stare in boredom, or makes me want to throw something at the TV screen--one of the reasons why I haven't watched any Kikyo-centric episodes in a long time), but it's not like Inuyasha and Kagome were in a serious relationship at that point in the series. If they were and Inuyasha had been two-timing Kagome with Kikyo (or any other girl, for that matter), then people would have a reasonable case for calling him a two-timer.
And on another note, I think Miroku and even Koga (if you've kept up with the anime) are more guilty of two-timing than Inuyasha is, and I haven't heard anyone complain about those two.
Twilight Mistress - June 22, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Well, I still consider it two timing because I'm sure that they were aware of how the other felt about each other, which is the reason for why Inuyasha always felt guilty after his interaction with Kikyou. The relationship between Inuyasha and Kagome might not have been declared at the time, but there had to be something there to affect Kagome the way it did. Episode 48 is when Kagome recognizes her love for Inuyasha, right after the scene where she sees him with Kikyou.
And again, I'm still forced to wonder how Kagome feels about Kikyou; had Kikyou not died Inuyasha would have no other choice but to choose between them, and in Kagome's eyes Kikyou would be the first choice. Kagome has secretly been bothered about the relationship between Inuyasha and Kikyou, even after Kikyou dies. I don't know. Kagome seems rather solemn to me now, and I don't think it's just because she's matured. I think a small part relates to Kikyou somehow and everything else they've experianced. Certain things were not resolved in the story.
Angel Zelda - June 22, 2008 04:45 PM (GMT)
You know, it can work in retropect, too. Why do you think Inuyasha always gets so irritable when some guy expresses interest in Kagome? I'm pretty sure it's not brotherly overprotectiveness. :D Kagome may not flirt with these guys, but Inuyasha still gets jealous.
But on another topic, I posed a question in the beginning of this thread: Would Inuyasha become evil if it meant saving Kagome's life (yes, it's very Anakin Skywalker--we all know the reason he went to the Dark Side of the Force)? The answer for the majority seems to be "yes." What do you think?
Twilight Mistress - June 23, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
Well, there isn't really a relationship between the other guys that Inuyasha can base certain things off of, which is why he can't really go far with those arguments (not that it doesn't bother him, but I don't think it bothers him to the same extent). Inuyasha and Kikyou, on the other hand, have history. They actually had a relationship which only ended because Naraku intervened. Such leaves a foundation for Kagome to base her feelings off of; Kikyou was Inuyasha's first love, and it is very apparent that Inuyasha still has feelings for Kikyou right up until she dies. That's not to say that he doesn't love Kagome, but again, there is history between him and Kikyou. This, unfortunately, leaves Kagome to believe that she's in second place because Inuyasha always runs off to find Kikyou, leaving Kagome behind. And due to the fact that Inuyasha was not forced to choose between the two, there is no closure for Kagome about Kikyou in terms of who he loves, which allows her to forumulate the idea of what it would be like if the relationship between Inuyasha and Kikyou had not been interupted.
Inuyasha would most likely do whatever it takes to save Kagome's life, even if it means crossing certain boundries. However, I think I'd rather picture Kagome in a situation where she was able to protect herself; women should be viewed as strong, independant individuals instead of damsels in distress. Aside from that note, I think Kagome would sacrifice herself to save Inuyasha, no matter the cost. (I also think that she's more powerful now than she ever used to be :D )

Oh, I agree about Kagome being a strong woman, no doubt about that (though there are times where she is in need of being saved).
The whole scenario about Inuyasha going evil came up recently when I was talking to one of my friends over the phone. We were talking about Star Wars, and about how Anakin's entire reason for going to the Dark Side was because he didn't want Padme to die in childbirth. Then I suddenly asked, "Do you think Inuyasha would do the same for Kagome? You know, become evil if it meant saving Kagome's life?"
So, yeah, I believe Inuyasha would, in my own words, "become the next Darth Vader" to save Kagome. And of course, Kagome would do the same for him.
Twilight Mistress - June 23, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
lol A long time ago I actually had forumulated a plot that was based off of the Darth Vader idea for an Inuyasha fanfic. I might actually get around to writing the story now that I have more time on my hands.

That's funny, because I'm actually writing a fanfic in which one of the plot points is that Inuyasha becomes evil as an attempt to save Kagome from possibly dying in the near future (AKA the Darth Vader idea). It's a crossover fic with Avatar: the Last Airbender, and I'm only on chapter four so far.
Twilight Mistress - June 24, 2008 03:25 AM (GMT)
lol Nice. My idea was a bit different, but that's okay. ^^ Anyway, wouldn't it be cool if the creator decided to pick up where the story left off (unlikely that it would happen, but you can still hope, right? lol)?
Angel Zelda - June 24, 2008 03:57 PM (GMT)
I actually heard that there's going to be an OVA for Inuyasha, but that's possibly just a rumor. But we still have fanfiction! And as far as I'm concerned, Inuyasha and Kagome are on cloud nine right now--they're in the honeymoon phase of their marriage, after all.
Oh, guess what? I found this Harry Potter Star Wars spoof on the Internet, and I changed it up to make it an Inuyasha Star Wars spoof. I'm not sure if it's really that funny, but here it is.
| QUOTE |
(Kagome jumps from Kirara's back after landing and runs towards Inuyasha.)
Inuyasha: What are you doing out here? Kagome: I was so worried about you! Miroku...told me terrible things! Inuyasha: What things? Kagome: He said...you've joined Naraku. That you...killed villagers! Inuyasha: Miroku is trying to turn you against me. Kagome: He cares about us. Inuyasha: Us? Kagome: ...He knows. He wants to help you.
(Inuyasha smirks.)
Kagome: Inuyasha, all I want is your love. Inuyasha: Love won't save you, Kagome! Only my new powers can do that! Kagome: At what cost? You're a good person; don't do this! Inuyasha: I won't lose you the way I lost my mother. I am becoming more powerful than any demon has ever dreamed of, and I'm doing it for you, to protect you. Kagome: Come away with me...help me raise our child; leave everything else behind while we still can! Inuyasha: Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore! I am more powerful than Naraku, I...I can overthrow him! And together, you and I can rule the country! Make things the way we want them to be! Kagome: ...I don't believe what I'm hearing...Miroku was right...you've changed! Inuyasha: (angrily) I don't want to hear any more about Miroku. He, Sango, and Shippo turned against me; don't you turn against me! Kagome: (crying) I don't know you anymore! Inuyasha, you're breaking my heart! And you're going down a path I cannot follow! Inuyasha: Because of Miroku? Kagome: Because of what you've done...what you plan to do! Stop! Stop now; come back...I love you!
(Miroku has left his hiding place and walks forward.)
Inuyasha: (shouting) Liar! Kagome: No! Inuyasha: You're with him! You brought him here to kill me! Kagome: No! Inuyasha: (grabs Kagome by her throat and starts choking her) Miroku: Let her go, Inuyasha! Kagome: (barely breathing) Inuyasha... Miroku: Let. Her. Go.
(Inuyasha releases Kagome as she falls unconscious.)
Inuyasha: You turned her against me! Miroku: You have done that yourself! Inuyasha: You will not take her from me! Miroku: Your anger and your lust for power have already done that. You have allowed Naraku to twist your mind, until now...until now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy. Inuyasha: If you're not with me, then you're my enemy! Miroku: (brandishing his staff) I will do what I must. Inuyasha: You will try...
(A battle ensues.) |
Now that I think about it, it's kind of funny to imagine them actually saying these lines.
