Title: The Ocarina is REAL
Description: Thought it only existed in the game?

Twilight Mistress - March 12, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
The ocarina is a real instrument, one of which is able to create harmony for each and every note played. The sound is completely mystical and enchanting that it inspires one to find one of their own or to simply listen to the sweet sound it creates. I'm getting one soon, and I can't wait.

I actually have the OoT one!!! I bought it a few years ago!!! *glee* It's very lovely!

Really? Man, I can't wait! It's been six days now and I'm getting very impatient... I know it will be worth the wait, though. ^^

You'll like it, I'm sure, lol.

I'm not exactly musically talented, so I have a hard time feeling as if I'm playing it WELL. But I still like to pull it out and hope I'll somehow be teleported to Hyrule. . . ^_^;

lol ^^ From the samples that I've heard so far the sound is very enchanting... It really does make you feel like you're a part of the game, huh? :P

It does. :D I tend to play Zelda's Lullaby and the Song of Time the most, just hoping and praying. . . "Take me to Hyrule!!!!"

I don't like those ocarinas. The holes aren't identical to the Ocarina of Time. I had mine custom-made, but my brother threw it against the cement. >_>

Alantie - March 15, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
I don't think it's possible for them to make the holes identical to the ones on the OoT- wouldn't the notes all sound the same that way?

I take good care of mine. ^_^ It lives in a shiny silk pouch on my shelf when I am not using it. ^_^

I've heard people play LOZ songs on the ocarina on youtube. Only the one there looked pretty different from the one in the game...

Twilight Mistress - March 28, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
I have mine now. ^^ It may not look exactly like the one in the game, but that's only because it's a replica. It sounds like the ocarina from the game though! ^^

Of course it's a real intrument. When I first heard about OoT, I thought "An ocarina? Wow." Look at this site: http://www.stlocarina.com/ocarina-history.html

I have a bunch of ocarinas and I've grown to be very good at playing them. i can play almost every Zelda song that's played on the ocarina :D *gets lost in her own nerdy little world*

I'm actually very picky when it comes to ocarinas. I hate the glass and plastic ones found everywhere. I much prefer wooden and clay ones. They sounds so much prettier.

I had an ocarina my ex bought me from a renaissance fair. But I junked it when we broke up :/

KokirianClockwork - February 22, 2009 03:28 AM (GMT)
Known ocarinas since before Zelda.
I have no idea how though. >_>
I just knew. I feel smart.
Stupid childhood memories. Anyway I bought one way after playing OoT because my flute wasn't good enough for the songs I wanted. I can do Zelda's Lullaby, the Song of Time, Song of Healing, Saria's Song, OoT's intro, Wind Waker's story intro, and then some. <3
Not expertly, but I'm proud enough.

I think an ocarina would be cool to have - if I actually had the money to buy one. Although I'm curious (if anyone knows), how do the ones from Songbird Ocarina compare to the ones from STLOcarina? Are there any major differences in the quality? Or is it more of a preference between designs?
