Man, oh man, what is UP with these fires!? They're literally burning a semicircle on the north, east and southern borders of the county and closing in on everyone inside. It's no doubt worse than the 2003 Cedar Fires we had this time of year. Freakin' Santa Ana winds... There's no school for the rest of the week due to the air hazards (honestly, there shouldn't even have been school yesterday; people were literally suffocating during lunch because the air got so bad). But anyway, my hearts go out to those affected by the fire; 1/4 a million people had to be evacuated (they even opened up Qualcomm Stadium for shelter) and I pray for the safety of everyone, especially the firefighters out there.

Just thought I'd talk about it really quick since it's really close to home.

It really is horrible; I've been seeing it on the news, and its just devestating. I was in San Diego only a couple months ago, and it was so beautiful. I really hope that they can get things under control soon and that the people will be safe. I know our state has sent people to help, and I hope that there will be some progress soon.

But I find it funny how quickly people are responding to this fire, where it took weeks for government aide to come to New Orleans after Katrina hit...
