Shelter From the Storm
SirJoshizzle
"Does this feel better to you?"
I heave an elated sigh as he snugly wraps a thick beige comforter around my huddled body.
"Y-yes..." I smile weakly at the blonde man. He just gives me a lopsided grin in return, his blue eyes sparkling, and sits on the bed next to me.
"What were you doing walking outside in a rain storm like that without so much as a jacket or umbrella?" He raises an eyebrow, pointing out the window. I follow the direction of his index finger, and outside, it's raining cats and dogs; the thunder rolls across the black skies above the city and lighting flashes across the darkness like a flickering light bulb.
Should I tell him the truth? Should I tell him... that I have no home? That I ran away from the place I used to call home? From my negligent excuses I call parents?
"...I was on my way home from school... and I didn't know it would rain," I lie lamely. "It was just partly cloudy this morning; I didn't see any signs of a storm coming."
He just eyes me with that raised eyebrow of his, but his features soften slightly, smiling so warmly it almost melts my heart. "You're just glad I found you before you got sick or anything--"
"ACHOO!" I rock the mattress violently as I sneeze so forcefully I almost fall off the side of the bed.
The man just chuckles and gets up from his seat. "I stand corrected... Just wait here," he says. "I'll make you some hot green tea."
"T-t-thank you," I manage out as I sniffle softly.
...Who is that man? How could he just let a girl he barely knows into his house like he did for me? ...More importantly, why was I so eager to trust him when he rolled over on the curb in his Terminian sports car and offered me a ride? I didn't even think that he'd be dangerous...
Maybe because in the past five minutes, he's shown me the care and concern that I never got out of Mom or Dad. Even though we're total strangers to each other, he took me in, when I bet no one else would have.
He gave me refuge when I was in need. He gave me hope when I had none...
He gave me my shelter from the storm.

The title, Shelter From the Storm, is a double-pun: Link gave Zelda shelter from the pouring rain, and more imporantly, he gave her shelter from the turmoil she was feeling before the main storyline.
Zelink Theme #24: Rain/Storms
Title: A Storm in the Forest
Words: 118
Zelda jumped as another clap of thunder was heard.
Link sighed. “Maybe it was a bad idea for you to spend the night here.”
Zelda shook her head. “No, Link,” she replied. “It’ll take more than a little rain storm to scare me out of here.”
Link smiled. Whenever Zelda set her mind to something, she would make sure she’d do it. An admirable quality, Link thought.
Lightning flashed in the distance. Zelda flinched and clung to Link’s shoulder. She was so distracted by her fear of storms that she didn’t notice Link blushing at her touch.
Even though it was cold, rainy, and stormy outside of Link’s tree house in Kokiri Forest, Link felt warm all over.

Title: Waiting in the Storm
Her hands smooth gently over his brow, the rain pattering down lightly on them. She prays that he will awake soon, as she is not certain she can carry him out of the storm she knows will brew soon.
Link stirs slightly at her touch, moaning in his sleep, and her heart aches for him. She cannot believe that he did that- throwing himself in front of her, shield raised and sword drawn to fight a foe he knew he could not win against for a person he barely knew.
Zelda bowed her head over his, her breath stirring his blond bangs slightly, salty tears and rain mingling on her cheeks as she summoned the faintest thread of power to heal him.
“Wake, dear hero,” she whispered softly. “Wake, for I need you. Do not abandon me now.”
For several long heartbeats, nothing happened. She moved away slightly to kneel beside him, her emotionless mask back in place. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and Link’s sapphire orbs opened.
