Title: Rated T for TEEN!
Ingie - September 15, 2006 02:42 AM (GMT)
Source: The HyliaYES!! The game is just too cool for a kiddie little E! I wonder what it's rated T for... I heard it has some "situations" that woud be too much for a E rating. I don't think they mean sexually, and it's certainly not language, so... violence? Somewhat unsettling scenes? TP is supposed to be darker and more melancholy than any other Zelda game. Ooh, I can't WAIT!!
Of course, it's Nintendo, so it's not going to be anything off the wall. But YAY TEEN!
CrazygurlMadness - September 15, 2006 03:12 AM (GMT)
Yep, it's the violence. They put violence warnings on the Wind Waker, after all, and if that wasn't kiddie enough...
Alantie - September 15, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
I agree, its gotta be the violence. I can't really see them putting in any bad language or sexual stuff, so it has to be for that. And like everyone has been saying, this game is going to be a lot darker, which I am looking forward to gleefully ^_^
gr33n_sl33ves - September 18, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I seriousley doubt Link and Zelda are going to be dropping F bombs. And the day Nintendo puts something overtly sexual into one of their franchise games is the day I carve out my own intestines for the Dark God Ulyaoth to feast upon.
So violence is probably our best bet.
Alantie - September 18, 2006 08:58 PM (GMT)
Rofl  :funny:
Lol, I can't really see Link and Zelda bombing anything, unless it was Ganny :D
I very much doubt that Nintendo is going to give us any sexual stuff at all, since that is so not their thing. They're more into the subtle hint sort of deal. I think they enjoy tormenting their fans <_<
I heard somewhere that there will be blood in this game instead of just a poof of smoke when you kill an enemy, so could that possibly be it?
CrazygurlMadness - September 18, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
No, I don't think it's blood. It's more going to be like green juice, à la Ganondorf spit from Ocarina of Time (what was THAT about anyway??).
Alantie - September 18, 2006 10:07 PM (GMT)
 I think that WAS supposed to be blood. Like, he was coughing up blood? Cause when people are wounded, that happens. . . maybe Ganny has green blood?
AmayaSaria - September 19, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
I'm not suprised. Isn't swinging around a sword considered violence? XD Yeah, well little kids do it anyway.
Doesn't really matter what the rating is though, I know like everybody is gonna get it, whether they're old enough or not. Tis just the way the world works.
Heck, I was even playing pretty violent games when I was little. ;)
CrazygurlMadness - September 19, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
Yes. If the gut can take it, so can the mind.
That should be ESRB's new motto. B)
Ingie - September 19, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
I personally don't think the rating is there for just the fighting violence. I think there are situations and occurances in Twilight Princess that are too much for an E rating. The guys at IGN said they've seen some scenarios that made their "jaws drop". And the translators for the game said they believe some of the story content should give the game a T rating.
I really don't know what to expect. Twilight Princess could have just barely scraped a T rating, or we may be completely baffled by what the game contains. Not in a negative way, of course. It's Zelda, afterall.
Dirty Harry - September 19, 2006 11:16 AM (GMT)
LOL! Explict language:
(Ganondorf to Link)
&^*%^ you piece of %$*^&% !@$@#^#$ !
(Link's hardcore ganster response <_< )
Yeah, that's right, ma fool! You're goin' down right here, right now! Bring it!
CrazygurlMadness - September 19, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
I WANT TO BE BAFFLED BY LINK'S SEXY GOODNESS!
And if the T rating is what it takes, by all means, let them do it. B)

Really? I wonder what that could mean for us. . . . *crosses fingers and hopes for a Zelink kiss scene* That's really surprising for Nintendo. Maybe TP is the start of something new for them. . .

:funny: Somehow I can't imagine that they would do that, but I would die laughing if they did!!!
Teehee. :D I'm with ya on that one CM!!! Link is just soooo smexy. How did you describe it in OiH? Sex given form in a body or something like that? Rofl, maybe that's the real reason for it being rated higher! Link's sexyness is just too much for younglings!
CrazygurlMadness - September 19, 2006 10:28 PM (GMT)
Sex rolled into hotness, mayhaps? ^^
Alantie - September 20, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Teehee :giggle: Yup, that would be it! Link should wear a sign that warns of danger- Hotness may cause girls squealing and rioting.
CrazygurlMadness - September 20, 2006 03:16 PM (GMT)
Too late for that. We've all been trapped. :yay:
gr33n_sl33ves - September 20, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I can see the commercials now:
Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess! Rated T for Smexyness! *shows Link doing the finger lick, ass-poke sizzle thing*
CrazygurlMadness - September 20, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
:funny:  :yay: :D Seriously.
Link: "I'm too sexy for my tunic, too sexy for my boots, too sexy for my hat, so sexy it hurts!!"
Indecent. We must rate this T.
Alantie - September 20, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
:funny:  The sad thing is, I can actually invision that in my mind, and it is glorious :yay: :D Its got to be the reason. Link's overwhelming smexyness is the cause for the rating! :giggle:
gr33n_sl33ves - September 24, 2006 05:58 AM (GMT)
Damnit! I want to play with sexy Twilight Princess Link right now! *spazzes*
CrazygurlMadness - September 24, 2006 04:15 PM (GMT)
Hm. Yes. The number of possible puns regarding the "control of Link" are endless.
Example: "I will play with Link's sword."
 :P

May I quote that in my signature? It's signature-quote worthy!
-ahem- Back on topic...
If the story ALONE makes it a T rating, then it's safe to assume that TP, and I shall quote Dante for this, "is going to be one HELL of a party!". I'll share my "guilt" of the fangirl-spazzing of TP. Now I REALLY don't know what to expect from TP, seeing that I like to be spoiler-free, kthx.
gr33n_sl33ves - September 25, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)
Bah, I want to know what the game is going to be like, yet I don't want to know right away because it would ruin the surprise of it, and impatience is making me spaz. Curse you Nintendo! (bah, but I love you so!)
CrazygurlMadness - September 25, 2006 02:43 AM (GMT)
Sure you can use it as a siggy, PH.
I can't wait to find out what sort of plot turns IGN claims to have made their eyes widen.
:zelink: ZELINK STUFF, MAYHAPS???
gr33n_sl33ves - September 25, 2006 03:07 AM (GMT)
Oh, we can only hope! :zelink:
Alantie - September 25, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
:zelink: *crosses fingers* I could die happily if they did. I somehow doubt it, but I still hope mightily for it!!
CrazygurlMadness - September 25, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
:zelink: Yes. I stand by my previous statement: Nintendo will never give us that complete satisfaction. But hopefully, there will be some clues...
*crosses fingers*
Dirty Harry - September 26, 2006 02:41 PM (GMT)
And here's a quote from Jester, PH. It's random.
"It's time for your spanking, Mary!" Maybe they were referring to that?
I think we scared Link off. He seems afraid to come on.
CrazygurlMadness - September 26, 2006 03:58 PM (GMT)
I harassed :link: to find out why. Apparently, a swarm of pesky monsters has been invading Hyrule and people can't go outside because of the smell... So he's been fighting a lot. Busy guy.
He'll be back on in a few days, and apologizes for the delay.
gr33n_sl33ves - September 26, 2006 08:44 PM (GMT)
Hopefully he won't be as delayed as Twilight Princess >.o
Paladin's Heart - September 26, 2006 08:51 PM (GMT)
Alright guys, I think it's enough with the SPAM and we should get back on track to more constructive posts? It makes our forum look bad lawl xDDD You don't want PH to close down this thread, now do you?
Sorry for being a party pooper
~ PH
CrazygurlMadness - September 26, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
Um, sure. We'll get back on track.
TEEN RATING WHOOPS A$$!! :yay:
Alantie - September 26, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
I think the problem is there isn't much more to say about the T rating. . . I mean, we've discussed it all, haven't we? It comes down to these:
1. Violence/excessive blood and hacking/bomb dropping
2. Language
3. Link and Zelda make out scene :zelink:
4. Link's general smexiness :D
CrazygurlMadness - September 26, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
Yes. But it won't be language.
'Cause, um, hello. WHAT language?
Probably just due to more mature plot twists. Like character death or something. (NOT ZELDA OR LINK'S DEATHS. I stand by my statements in other threads.)
But maybe Ilia dies or something. That's sad. I don't see her as a romantic partner for Link, but definitely a friend, like Saria.
Alantie - September 27, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
Yikes! I forgot about character death. Well. . . the Deku Tree dies, and that soldier in OoT, but I guess that's different than a real tragic character death, huh? Maybe it is the reason for a higher rating.
gr33n_sl33ves - September 27, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
I think, violence wise, it won't be anymore extreme than Wind Waker, but perhaps since they are going for a more realistic game, they'll have blood in it. Not like Kill Bill amounts of blood, but enough to give it that T rating.
And if you think about it really, most Zelda games do have quite a bit of violence in them. I mean, more often than not the main goal in a Zelda game is to kill Ganon (or whatever villain happens to be the antagonist). And in order to get to the big bad, you have to slaughter your way through hoards of fell beasties.
I think Nintendo's gotten away with giving the games a lower than T rating is because the enemies, when defeated, would immediately vanish in some way, instead of lying there, dead.
CrazygurlMadness - September 28, 2006 01:19 AM (GMT)
But so will the enemies in TP, with the good ole puff o' smoke.
Alantie - September 28, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
I actually heared otherwise, that there will be blood and the enemy carcasses lying around. I somehow doubt it though.
gr33n_sl33ves - September 28, 2006 05:55 PM (GMT)
I'm kinda hoping for blood, actually ^-^;;
I imagined my own when Link stabbed Ganondorf in the face in WW
Alantie - September 28, 2006 09:01 PM (GMT)
Rofl :funny:
Actually, I kind of did too
I want to see Ganny bruised, broken, bleeding and DEAD!!! AHAHAHAHA!! Except, he can't die. Not unless TP fixes that. Darn this waiting!!! They need to put the friggen game out already so we can just SEE why its rated T
