Title: Ask Zelda
Description: If Link can do it, why can't I?
Princess Zelda - September 2, 2006 04:21 PM (GMT)
Hmph! Link thinks I can't do a "Ask Zelda" thread!
I'll prove him so wrong! I'm going to fish out every single dirty secret, from the time that we went on that date, and he-
Alright, Link. I won't. Sorry...
Well, yes. I shall start the "Ask Zelda" thread, so you may ask any questions you wish. Other than any pertaining to my sexuailty, and my relationships.
:zelda: And who runs this forum? I absolutely love this emoti-what is it called?
Emoticon? Oh. Yes, darling, I do love it very much!
Paladin's Heart - September 2, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
^_^, I am very glad that you like the emoticon of yourself. There are actually 4 people (with the help of 2 moderators!) that run these forums, I being one of them. If you want to know more, look around on the forums looking for people with their usernames in Green or Blue or check out the
rules section for a complete list.
Oh, and your emoticon had been wondefully made by the amazing AmayaSaria. :)
Back onto the topic, I think it is (safe) to assume that the majority of this forum are female, it would be quite easy (and more sucessful, sorry Link) for a female to ask another fellow female for guidance.
Anyway, my question today is what do you think about Today's society? I'm not sure about Hyrule, but where we come from there is a high influence on children by the media. For example, Rap music has been a big influence on children these days, with it's themes of Sexuality and the like. 11 year old kids are already trying drugs and having relationships with the opposite gender (hopefully), while when I was 11 I threw rocks at people.
It's a random question, I know, but Society is messed up and I'd love to hear your "words of wisdom" on the topic. (no pun intended)
Princess Zelda - September 3, 2006 11:40 AM (GMT)
Oh my! No-one knows what the Triforce is? My...who is you Vice-Principal? He thinks it's a gang?
Well, your society sounds very violent and self-deibilitating. From what I can see, I wasn't the perfect role model (only the Goddesses know how many different princes I was forced into marriages with...luckily they all died because of Ganondorf, that was one good thing he did) and I was a difficult child to manage. However, I believe that your society has transgressed a long way from just being harmless rock-throwers to mindless mongrels.
From what I have observed, most people today are not only influenced by music, but by their peers who provide irrational reasons to do wrong or immoral things. Drugs that hurt others, people who sit in front of TVs and pursue relationships at such young ages usually end up as people who cannot fend for themselves and whose heads are empty and mindless.
Major contributions to this problem are rap music and the media. Both of these mediums preach immoral and untruthful messages about the world today, and provoke many youths into performing illegal and immoral acts. I find many portrayals of men and women disgusting and manipulative of people's emotions and prejudice, making people believe something that is false.
Overall, your society seems to have degraded into something that is dying, killing itself by choking on its own technology and being unable to use new discoveries to proper uses.
Hyrule is fine, technology hasn't touched us too much. We only got these laptops by...umm...well, Link and I borrowed them from a Dell shop...and we borrowed the modem and the wires...
But my point is that it seems a lot of technology has destroyed your social structure. That's my point...
(PS: Dial-up is so slow! Link won't let us upgrade to Broadband! <_< :( )
Link - September 3, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
Actually, I got my laptop from the Bazaar. But I got yours from the Dell. ^_^
And, Zelda, it's not that I don't want us to get broadband. It's just that there isn't any yet in Hyrule. You really ought to do something about that.
Don't get angry, now... :ph43r:
Princess Zelda - September 4, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
:link: Not. Link, why didn't you tell me there was no broadband in Hyrule? I would've installed it already! Gosh! Goddesses, sometimes, you...
See? Now you've made me angry!
Dirty Harry - September 4, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
Out of everyone in the world that you've seen, who is your role model?
Why are you and Link always the goodies? Do you ever have an urge to be bad?
Link - September 4, 2006 04:01 PM (GMT)
(Not to intrude on your column, Zelda, but I feel I must be honest with DH.)
She is devilish. B)
Don't ever let her tell you anything different.
Princess Zelda - September 5, 2006 11:31 AM (GMT)
She is devilish, my golden slippers! I am not!
Oh, well, the time I pushed you into the lake was another matter.
And the time that I put some glue on your saddle so that you couldn't get off, well that was payback for the honey you put in my bath! Which I incited, when I...oh, shut up! :o I shouldn't be saying words like that!
But in all honesty, that's just childish pranks that me and link sometimes play. If it comes to things like saving the world, and sealing Ganon, we're all business. Unless you count Link's frequent bar visits.
My role model...hmm...that's quite difficult. You see, I've been brought up in a world where males are dominating females, and I'm always being saved and all, so having a role model implies usually that should be a second fiddle to men, and be passive and submissive. Women that I have met, however, like Impa, have served as great role models because they always stand up and take care of themselves. Women who actually prove themselves to be just as good, if not better than men, are in my eyes inspirations. :D
Who made this? It's cute! :zelink:
PS: Any other questios?
Alantie - September 5, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
I have a question for you Princess!! What do you think of the other females in the games? Are they merely trying to steal Link from you, are they anoying, do they irritate you, are you friends? Also. . . what do you like to do in your free time when there are no royal duities or anything like that to attend to?
Princess Zelda - September 6, 2006 10:53 AM (GMT)
Hmm...do you mean Malon, or Ruto, or the others?
Malon's nice. She's been delivering Lon Lon Milk to the castle for awhile now, since Talon now runs the farm a lot more and doesn't seem to have a lot of time to get round to deliver the milk. Sometimes she and I go out to the Market together; she is GREAT at finding new dresses and jewelery! She's probably one of my best friends (though she does get a bit starry-eyed over Link...I hate that...but lately she's been getting starry eyed over Marth, too...:D)
Ruto is a bit bossy, and she sometimes forgets that since we're both Princesses we should be equals. But she's fun to hang around with, and if she's not being snobby, she's really energetic and loves to sing!
Saria is a bit shy...so I don't see her a lot. But she was Link's first childhood friend, and whenever Link goes to the forest to see her, and check up on the rest of the Kokiri, he always comes back happy, or content. I'm not quite sure. But it makes me happy that he's happy...is that a bit confusing?
But I don't say that they're stealing Link! They're his friends! He has every right to go and visit them, and who am I to stop him? And if they're his friends, then I also make the effort to be their friend. :D
:zelda:
What do I do in my free time...well, I usually go to the Market to buy seeds, so I can grow them. I had a little vegetable and flower garden, but Link ruined it when he first got into the castle... :(
Any other questions?
Link - September 12, 2006 03:50 PM (GMT)
What in Hyrule did you do while I was getting some shut-eye in the Temple of Time? It always seemed like kind of a mystery to me. I know you trained, but...
Princess Zelda - September 13, 2006 11:12 AM (GMT)
Oh...well, that's my secret, isn't it? :P
No, I started my life as a young peasant boy. Impa trained me in the Sheikah arts, but the village trained me in the common things that normal people do, such as getting water from a well, or catching cuccoos. Why did you have to drain the water, Link? Do you know how hard it was for me to get water for Impa after that?
In addition I decided to go through all the Temples as a challenge, to test my skills...though I was bested by the Water Temple; I had no Iron Boots!
Any other questions?
Alantie - September 13, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
Hmm, out of curiousity, Princess, is it true what the gossip stones are saying about you being a tomboy? :D
Princess Zelda - September 25, 2006 10:18 AM (GMT)
My dears, I do apologise for being so untimely in my responses, but duty does call, and running a country takes a fair bit out of a girl.
Tomboy? Me? That is a very interesting question, Ms. Alantie...or, do I call you Alantie? I'm not very sure...
Well, technically, I am a bit of a tomboy: I enjoy fighting (as Sheik; those skirts can be very annoying), being stubborn, and riding horses. I absolutely hate those ideas that women must conform to a man's expectations, and the inferiority of a woman to a man. I detest them; in my opinion, each women is just as good as a man.
So, to tell the truth, you must define tomboy, before I can answer that question. :zelda: My apologies, dearest. Any other questions?
Dirty Harry - October 3, 2006 02:24 PM (GMT)
Zelda, are you still a virgin? If you aren't, who did you lose it to?
What is the legal system in Hyrule like? How do you decide things?
Alantie - October 3, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
Zelda, what do you prefer to be: a pirate, a ninja gender unknown, a Princess, or a commoner? Which did you feel most comfortable as?
Princess Zelda - March 25, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Oh my...that is a tough one...
I think I feel most comfortable...as the head upon someone's shoulder. But that special someone's name isn't going to to be revealed in THIS conversation. :P
And NO! DH! I am still a virgin. No-one has...wait...umm...which one of me are we referring to?
The legal system in Hyrule means I rule EVERYTHING. I decide who lives and who dies. Of course, I try to be fair, and I make every attempt to make decisions as democratic as possible. But, in all essences, Hyrule has a monarchical governing system. :D
AmayaSaria - March 28, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
So Zelda...I just asked Link this, but now I wanna know your point of view! What did you first think when you saw Link in wolf form? (In TP, I mean^^) Anything ring a bell to you? Any feelings whatsoever? =D
And uh. Another question!...How come you are so cool?
Princess Zelda - March 31, 2007 03:20 PM (GMT)
When I first saw Link in wolf form, I was startled. You don't see wolves every day, after all, and besides, he'd been growling at me from behind. It was a little scary, I'll admit.
On the other hand, when I saw Midna on his back, I knew it would be alright. Especially since his startling blue eyes (I love his eyes, but don't tell him that, or else he'll be scoffing at me for a week!) softened up and became tame again, just curious. It was a strange sight, too, to see a wolf look so controlled and everything. I knew then (the patterns on his fur also gave this away) that he was no ordinary wolf. And since Midna was with him, I knew what she intended.
Of course, she acted really independent about him, but I suppose I knew how much she needed his help, so no matter how much his presence comforted me, I was ready to tell him everything he needed to know, then help them both escape. It saddened me, and, combined with the state of my kingdom, I was understandably upset. But I suppose I knew, as soon as I saw him, that he would help both Midna and I. You could see it in his eyes.
Oh no! Link got my laptop!
NO LINK! NOT EVERYTHING RELATES TO YOUR EYES!
Anyway, back to your questions. As I was saying, I trusted him immediately, and I suppose I trusted Midna too, no matter how she treated Link. He seemed strong-willed enough to withstand it.
A good question is whether he's strong enough to withstand me...hmm...maybe I'll be another boss in the next Zelda game simply if I can kick Link's butt. :D
Oh, and as to why I'm so cool? I'm Zelda! What's not to love about being a Princess, Ninja, Pirate and Damsel in distress that gets saved by a smoking hot, smexy hunk?
Alantie - April 4, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
Hey Princess! I've got some questions for you! ^_^
First off, how do you feel towards Midna, your Twilight counterpart, and perhaps rival for Link's feelings?
Two: Thoughts about the final battle. Were you excited to take more involvement in the fight against Ganon?
Three: What was it like having ol'Ganny possess your body?!
Angel Zelda - June 4, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Greetings, Princess Zelda! :)
Now, I'm going to assume that you've read a lot of books in your lifetime, since you're the Princess of Hyrule and you live in Hyrule Castle. What is a companion piece? I've heard that it's a story that is similar to another story, but I've also heard that it's a flip side of a story (in other words, it's a story told from someone else's point of view). Can you tell me what a companion piece is?
Wisdom_Triforce - July 24, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Ah, Princess Zelda! I'm honored to have an audiance with you!!
Do you and Link have a "song"?
Princess Zelda - July 28, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
Oh, my...so many questions. I must apologise-it's as Link said. I've been trying to make sure Ganon won't return (though I seem to be failing miserably, otherwise we wouldn't be having legend of Zelda games, would we...? :( )
Firstly, for Alantie's questions.
1. I had met Midna before meeting Link. In spite of her detached behaviour, I could sense in her the same desperation to save her kingdom as the one I felt. I'm aware that in letting her get close to Link, I was risking competition, but that wasn't really my worst concern. I was imprisoned, and she was free to come and go as she pleased, guiding Link through his adventure. I suppose if I hadn't felt any sympathy and likemindedness with her, I wouldn't have given her my life. That we were as one, I suppose, made me closer to Link and it made her soften up on him. It was a beneficial arrangement.
I do like Midna, no matter how she might be my 'rival'. I don't see it that way. I think we all developped strong friendship and respect over the course of that chapter in history. She is no rival: she is a friend.
2. I think helping Link fight Ganon was as exciting as the fight at the end of Wind Waker. Ultimately, though, it was Link who risked the most, defending me bodily and all that. I don't think I did much, but I spared Link having to shift gears all the time, so... I'm glad. I can't say having to fight Ganon was the most pleasant thing to do, though. It never is. He always finds a way to threaten me.
Did I mention I don't like Ganon?
3. As for Ganon possessing me... well, I was still within Midna at the time, so in a way, I wasn't in my own body to feel it. My body was soulless: alive but not really. It was only after Ganon vacated it that I could return to my own body.
I'll say, though, that knowing he used my body in my absence (how strange to say that!) is a little, well, icky. I've gotten used to it again, but being out of my body for months makes things awkward anyway.
I'm only sad that he used my body and spiritual strength to hurt Midna and seek to injure or kill Link. They haven't borne me any grudge, but I still apologized. Hopefully, it's the last time I'll ever have to vacate my body for long periods of time. It's just too much of a hassle.
Now...
What is a companion piece?
This might sound rather complicated; I wrote it for the Hylian Reviewer a month or two ago, when a question about companion pieces appeared...here goes...
"A companion piece can only be defined if we all agree on the following defining terms:
A story is a series of unchangeable events in a chronological order that start from point A and travels through point B, C, D, up to final point Z.
A tale is the story told through someone's, anyone's, point of view. As such, the story can be told in multiple ways, depending on whether it is first person, third person, and can alter the chronological order of things. So you could have the story be told from Z to A, or have H come in before E, and so on.
Note that it is impossible for a story to exist for posterity without being a tale. The moment you speak, write or record it, it has become biased by a point of view, which is what defines a tale in the first place.
So, a companion piece is a tale, as seen from a different person's point of view. Let me explain.
Often, the first person view blocks out many aspects to the story, and the ensuing tale may have blind spots which can cause confusion. A companion piece is therefore the same story, in the form of a different tale (through someone else's point of view). There is rarely a companion piece to a 3rd person narrative, because 3rd person narratives are mostly omniscient and do not need to be completed.
You can occasionally find companion pieces that merely situate the tale, in the form of maps, a history lesson, or some such piece that is detached from the original tale but still related to the story's setting. These are rare, though."

And lastly-
-do Link and I have a song?
Hmm...Link is the musical one. He would know a lot better!
Wisdom_Triforce - July 29, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
I asked Link the same question:
Supposedly, if and I say IF, there really was a era of peace where Ganny-fart (lol) doesn't try to take the triforce, the world ect. (So cliche.) would you marry him? Would you mind having children and what would you teach them (should you have a boy or girl)? And what do you think they'd be like?
Angel Zelda - July 31, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
Hello, Princess Zelda!
Have you ever heard of the thirty-minute-long anime movie called "Voices of a Distant Star"? If you want to watch it, you can find it
here. It's a real tearjerker. :( Since the movie ends at a cliffhanger, how do you think it ended (assuming that you've watched it)?
Cuccopower - August 18, 2007 11:41 AM (GMT)
I asked the same question to Link...
What do you think Link thinks about you? :D
Princess Zelda - August 19, 2007 10:54 AM (GMT)
:(
Where's Link when you need a shoulder to cry on? It's so sad, Angel, it's such a sad movie...
I honestly hope that they would have found each other again, and so on, so forth, but reality probably dictates that they won't ever find each other again...
Such a sad occurrence...
Well, Link and I don't have any major plans yet to do ANYTHING other than participate with Nintendo in Legend of Zelda games. Besides, Nintendo doesn't want me to rest, they keep on making me fill out paperwork...
What does Link think of me? Hmm...he wants-
Don't paint you in that light? How can I not? What!
Sorry, something to do-
-LINK COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!
LZ Angel - August 19, 2007 11:03 AM (GMT)
Zelda dear, please try not to kill him.....
Anyways, a question. You may have already answered this, but what do you do in your spare time? Read books, try to stop Ganon and spend time with Link?
Princess Zelda - August 19, 2007 01:54 PM (GMT)
Link - September 20, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
Hey, Zelda, hey, Zelda, guess who's on the forums!
That's right, our dearest friend Ganon! :yay:
Come poke him with me! Indulge my childish games! You know you want to! :glomp:
LZ Angel - September 21, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
Zelda.......just try not to get kidnapped and start a massive fight with Ganon.....the forums might not survive an epic fight between you, Link and Ganon.
Princess Zelda - September 21, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
What? Me, start a fight with Ganon?
Dear, who do you think I am? I am a peacemaker. Make love, not war, yes? Though not in that context...
On the other hand, poking people is so much fun...where's that Deku Stick...hehehe...
Oh, and what do I do in my spare time? Paperwork. Lots and lots of paperwork. They never give me anything else to do.
First, there's tax returns, then contracts with Nintendo to sort out. Then lunch with Samus (she drops by regularly). Then more paperwork.
:D

Wow, Princess, I've never seen this more playful side of you before.
Princess Zelda - September 22, 2007 04:38 AM (GMT)
Well...
I wouldn't...most of the time...
But poking Ganon is so much fun. And he calls me pretty whenever he wants to rip my head off...

Ganondorf's not lying, Zelda--you are pretty. :)
Link - September 23, 2007 04:16 AM (GMT)
Very firmly agreed.
And, by the way, if he starts threatening you with compliments, you just say the word and I'll get right over there, Dark Realm or not, and lop his head off with the Sword of Eternal Shine. :squint:
Question. Do your "ninja" Sheikah skills endow you with more physical flexibility? I assure you my question is perfectly innocent.
... You can show me, if you want.
LZ Angel - September 24, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
Oh dear, looks like Zelda has hacked/accidentally hacked into Dirty Harry's account....either that, or something's very wrong with Dirty Harry
(or maybe he just forgot to log out and in again :P)
And Zelda, have you ever felt the need to enter the Sacred Realm just to poke Ganon? :P
Dirty Harry - September 24, 2007 11:50 AM (GMT)
Hmm...well, despite my close relationship with Zelda, I don't think that was verynice...I'm very INFLEXIBLE. I will NEVER give my password away again-
No, Zelda, you're not saying anything on this account, ever again...grr...
Bloody princesses...(excuse my bloody aussieness...)
Alantie - September 25, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Lol. Feel free to revel in your aussieness. It's quite charming. ;)
*cough* Princess! Tell me, what do YOU like to do for fun? Ol' Ganny seems to be quite the stick in the mud and doesn't know the meaning of the word, so I'm curious as to what you think fun is. ^_^
Dirty Harry - September 25, 2007 08:52 AM (GMT)
And how did you get my bloody password?
