Title: Evidence/Obviousness
Description: Proof!

Lutearina - May 15, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
Well! For one thing, the OoT manga is VERY pro-ZeLink. The kiss,(how excited Linky-poo was over that ) how he's always thinking of her, and I also think its rather obvious that he's trying to tell her something right before they go back to seven years ago. :D And the ending...It was so cute!

The only thing I've seen recently is the OoT manga, soo....^^;

Also...In WW, Tetra and...What is the kid's name anyway? He's not really Link. So...We can call him Neo-Link! :D Anyway, I always thought of Neo-LinkxTetra is supportive of LinkxZelda...Well....Because I'm too lazy to think as to why. So...Let's just say that I think like that. XP And...Now its your turn to add!

Linky-kun - May 15, 2006 08:30 AM (GMT)
Yup there is quite alot of fans out there that surpport LinkxSaria but if they would at least just see the part in the OOT manga that Zelda gives Link a kiss they would all learn.

And right after the kiss Link goes off to find the Spirit stones because he's so happy B)

Lutearina - May 15, 2006 05:14 PM (GMT)
Hahaha! He went on a RAMPAGE after the kiss. ;) It was funny! And Zelda's expression..

Link and SARIA!? They're just best friends. :) And also..I don't think Mido would be very happy about that. ;) And every time Mido accused Link of 'stealing Saria from him' or something along those lines...Link would be like 'What the heck are you talking bout?' XP

Alantie - May 15, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
Rofl! Yes indeed, that part in the manga was too funny :D The manga is very pro Zelink, I agree *grows mistyeyed in reminising* What about the way Link was all down in the dumps because all he could do when he saw Zelda again was touch her hand? Maybe he had something else in mind, neh? ;) Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but in the manga after Zelda sends him back and he hears her voice thanking him, doesn't she also say she loves him? Its been awhile since I've read it, but I could swear that's basically what she says.

Alo, in all the Zelda games I have been able to play thus far, Link is always very dedicated to Zelda, no matter her form (even when she teases and makes fun of him as Tetra).

As for Saria. . .I'm fairly certain that Saria loves Link, but on his end, he sees her as his best friend. Like you said Lutearina, he always acted surprised or confused whenever Mido acuses him of trying to steal Saria away. Lol, those exchanges always make me laugh :)

And in the cartoon (which I haven't actually seen, but heard about) isn't Link always trying to get Zelda to kiss him? Teehee, no need to elaborate on that point!

By the way, thanks for directing me to these forums Lutearina! *hugs*

Lutearina - May 15, 2006 07:40 PM (GMT)
;) You're welcome, Alantie! Must spread the ZeLink love, ne?

I don't think she said she loved him...But...It don't matter! Their faces said it all. :) Yup, Link and Zelda are always thinkin of eachother. :D And oooh, I wanna see the cartoon! :o "Kiss me, please please pleeeeeaaasseee!!??!" That would be soooooooo cuuuute!!!!! Yeah, Saria does seem to love Link...But Mido doesn't care. Let him have her, Link's got enough to deal with. Such as Malon, Princess Ruto...And everyone else who has a crush on him. Oh yes, speaking of Malon...There was a point in the manga where she decides Link is her hero, but then, when he hears something about the princess, and says her name, it says "but her love was short-lived..." And she said something like, "Why do you say her name like that? Is it.....It is..."

ZELINK!!!!!

Hylian Cetra - May 19, 2006 02:44 AM (GMT)
LOL OMG really?! I've seen the ALTTP manga but not OoT ... D:

In the cartoon Link is such a .... how can I put it... ^^;; not the shy Link we all know and Love XD he's a more sarcastic horny person IMO XD

I think they're meant to be... welll I mean come on... the last of the bloodline of the Knights of Hyrule and the princess.... has a nice ring to it no? :)

Also, in ALTTP Link can hear Zelda's voice... I think that's really cute... (OMG Clerith moment like in the forest! XD)

Lutearina - May 22, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
;) Yes, we must aaalways find some way to mention Clerith, ne?

Oh dear. The cartoon sounds scary. And disturbing. They demented him!? <_< No Link! NOOO! Yep, it DOES have a lovely ring to it. :) Oooh...I must read the ALTTP manga. Hehe, when I first typed that, I said "mango" :P

Luna-Nayru - June 5, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
The manga is absolute love and basically canonizes OOT Zelink, but I think these quotes totally immortalize the way the creators feel about our lovely couple. ;)

QUOTE (Aonuma (On TP))
Interviewer Will we see a charming and affectionate romance [between Link and] the princess?
Eiji Aonuma: Well, we’re creating an adolescent storyline and we try to present it how it should be; in fact, if you played it – or will play it – you’ll notice that the way Link holds the sword is much cooler than how he used to do it. Link will now do things in a way that will make him look more confident and liberated. And yes, it’s true that teenagers have these relationships -- and we would love if it could happen with the princess – but I can’t talk about anything yet.

QUOTE (Aonuma (On TP))
Interviewer: We have received several emails in which our readers ask: Will Zelda and Link ever be involved [romantically]? [laughs] I’m sorry, but we had to ask.
Eiji Aonuma: [laughs] Good question. Well, as you already know, we are now dealing with a teenage Link, and as you know, teenagers are very emotional beings, so there are definitely possibilities of seeing Link showing his feelings towards the princess. But honestly, we don’t know what the future holds.

QUOTE (Miyamoto (On OOT))
Interviewer: Does Link have a girlfriend?
Shigeru Miyamoto: If it was Princess Zelda, it would be great. However, this time Navi [the fairy] is jealous of Zelda. So within the story, Navi feels something for Link.

I love Miyamoto and Aonuma, don't you?

Lutearina - June 6, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)

I never truly believed there could be anything between Saria and Link.... they were the "just friends" type to me =)

Dirty Harry - June 11, 2006 10:45 AM (GMT)
aite, imma fanficiton riter, i am PRO ZELINK. However, just one thing...plz dun bash other pairings, we find it offensive, esp. as writers, cuz there r some really gud fics that rnt necessarily Zelinks. soz if i sound demented, doing this in a Zelink forum, i noe ure gonna bash me... but newayz, yeah...they do say i love u n stuff...soo...GO ZELINK! n no bashing...

CrazygurlMadness - June 11, 2006 09:15 PM (GMT)
I'd have to concur with what firefly says. I myself am like, one of the biggest Zelink supporters, but I still believe that other characters, like Malon, Saria and Ruto, are also valid potentials and I hardly believe that a fandom should be demeaned for it.

On the other hand, I've also read those interviews with our buddy Eiji, and it makes me giddy and happy and jolly. And I dance whenever I think of Link developing a crush on Zelda.

Because, let's face it, Ninty'll never be SO bold as to have them kiss or even hug or anything. Come on, let's all smell the roses and be realistic.

The most probable and closest thing to a hint we might get is Link looking surprised or smiling shyly or maybe (maybe not) boasting about something in her presence.

But have them kiss? Nope. Zelda might thank Link by kissing him on the cheek. ^_^

But I don't even think those amazing graphics would be able to withstand the image of Link and Zelda kissing on the lips. They'd implode or something, from the sheer not-Nintendo-authorized-ness of it.

What can I say? The Big-N caters to all, and wouldn't dare insult some few fans with anything that might ruffle their feathers.

So we have to suffer for it. <_<

Alantie - June 12, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
I myself don't bash unless I get really angry at another person. I'm not overly fond of the other pairings, but I'm tolerant for the most part. Ahem! Anyway, back to the topic!

Crazygirl, you're unfortunately probably right about the kiss thing, as much as it sadens me to say it :( That's the way it is with a lot of pairings sadly. But they don't have to kiss to prove their love. Its shown in other ways. Myself, I think the spiritual connection they seem to have is just as strong proof of love as any physical action.

Dirty Harry - June 13, 2006 11:19 AM (GMT)
No...last part. "I love you Link." I'm wondering if that's Navi that said it, 'cause I'm pretty sure that it was Zel, and I think that they gave a lot of leeway (Nintendo) for Zelink. Though that Malink part in the Adult Saga was good too...but yeah. What about Minish Cap Manga? Link and Zelda are all close and everything, and she keeps on getting stuff for him. More than friends? Or just childish romance?

Luna, do you mind if I ask where those quotes came from?

Hehe, I actually can't find the source of the Aonuma interviews (I know it was a magazine, dangit, but I can't remember which one! ). But I know the old Miyamoto interview was from Famimaga 64. I will go on a mad search for the interviews with meh Eiji, though. ;)

And I agree with firefly and CGM. The fandom can think whatever they want about Link's love life, because there is no canon couple and no romance in OOT. So Link can be a playa fo' lyfe. :P

Alantie - July 7, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
Yay for Luna's stick of athority! I'm happy for ya! *eyes the stick, hoping it will not descend on her head* Ahem, anyway, I was reading through my OoT manga last night, and I came up with some more evidence.

After rescuing Sheik/Zelda from the clutches of Twinrova, Link carries Sheik to safety, somewhere near the Spirit Temple, and puts him down carefully, checking for wounds. He touches the bandage that hides Sheik’s face very tenderly, then in the next picture he's shown blushing, confused, and in his mind he's wondering why he was so flustered. Later when he discovers that Sheik is truly Zelda, he understands that deep down his heart knew it was her all along.

After the battle with Ganon, when Zelda asks Link to give her the Ocarina so she can send him back to his proper time, Link protests, saying these words: “I didn't come because I was ensnared by the circumstances at hand. The reason why I fought. . . Zelda, it was to. . ." Then he is looking down, a sad look on his face. Zelda too is looking down sadly, as if she understands what he has not said.

Something else that is debatable is what is said after Link is returned to his proper time, and he has not left the temple, is what is said. It's not exactly clear if it is said by Zelda speaking to him before the link to the past is closed or if it is Navi, but these words are spoken: "I adore you Link." Possibly a mistranslation? It could be meant to say 'I love you," either from Zelda or Navi, though I like to think it was Zelda that says it.

It was late at night when I read it thuogh, so maybe I was off on a few things, but meh, it seems like more evidence/obviousness to me!

Dirty Harry - July 8, 2006 04:48 PM (GMT)
Contradictory to what I have said earlier...

It does say I love you Link, as said by Goddes-Rinoa at Zelda Infinite. However, it's in a speech bubble, so most likely it was said by Navi. Sadly...we were all hoping it was Zellie. However there is a GREAT chance that it coudl have been Zellie.

"Is that a speech bubble in front of my eyes?" From the edited Macbeth, by firefly.

Alantie - July 9, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
Lol, yeah, those speech bubbles can sometimes be hard to tell who is speaking. *shakes fist at the artist*

But unless the creator says otherwise, we can still keep our fingers crossed that it was Zellie! ^_^

I was thinking about the game Link's Awakening, and the girl in that game, Marin, I believe her name was? Didn't Link mistake her for Zelda at first? And the whole world there was a dream created by the Windfish, so is it possible that Marin is the dream version of Zelda? Grah, I know, kinda wierd, but my brain is fried and I'm tired. *yawns* So sleepy. .. Ah, tell me what you think about that one!

Lutearina - July 13, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
Oooh! Alantie, I like your manga decodations. :D

I was thinking that about the whole Sheik thing as well....

Although the yaoi fans were probably giggling there xD

Alantie - July 13, 2006 03:06 AM (GMT)
Teehee, thanks Lutearina! And glad to see you back!

Lol, yeah, those yaoi fans I know were probably going off about that scene, even though Sheik IS Zelda, so its really not wierd. And didn't Nintendo confirm somewhere that Sheik is a girl and was never supposed to be mistaken for a boy? *shrug* I dunno! Lol

Lutearina - July 15, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
Thank YOU for the welcome back! I've been QUITE busy as of late. xD

I know! I was debating with my friend over whether Sheik was male or female. I SWEAR she's a girl. >_< xD I'm not sure though....But in the Super Smash Bros. Melee booklet thing, it says SHE is a mysterious warrior or something....?

Dirty Harry - July 15, 2006 02:41 PM (GMT)
Manga
She is a he! :D Oh...forgive my spelling, SHEIK is a he.

Sorry to spoil the moment.

Luna-Nayru - July 15, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
Actually, the whole "is Sheik a girl" thing is a really good question. I've seen anti-Zelink arguments saying that Zelda was not conscious in Sheik's body, and wasn't really there for Link throughout the time period in which he was an adult. They say Sheik was his own person and was, in fact, a guy Zelda was just using as a vessel for the time being.

I have my reasons to believe that it's Zelda in some kind of really, really good costume, but it's difficult to back up either side. :D But I'm pretty sure that regardless of who was on the inside, on the outside, Sheik was intended to be a guy. Ruto even says after he/she saves her from Zora's domain that a young MAN named Sheik pulled her out from under the ice. But I'm still pretty convinced that it's just Zelda crossdressing.

Alantie - July 16, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
I looked on the Super Smash Bro. Melee thing, and they say "Sheik is a mysterious warrior blah blah blah," but basically, they say she, confirming that Sheik is a girl. I think mistranslation was why Ruto referred to Sheik as a guy, either that or Zelda really was trying to pretend to be a boy. Either way, what it boils down to is that Zelda is Sheik so therefore. . . well, you get the idea. *sigh* We should start a seperate topic for the Sheik boy or girl debate, ya think?

Lutearina - July 16, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
Ahhh, I knew it said somewhere in the SSBM thing Sheik is indeed a female. xD That would be a good topic, we should start it. :D I STILL believe it's Zelda as a very good crossdresser.....Besides, she doesn't have much by way of chest in the game anyway. She could crossdress quite well. :D

*Did NOT just say that xD*

Dirty Harry - July 17, 2006 02:56 PM (GMT)
*All fanboys of Zelda look crossly at Luteriana* (And this is Luteriana's expression. :( )

Well, apparently, the "spell" turned her into a boy. And she put Zelda's consciousness to sleep. At least, I think that's something of what happened. Need to go and kill those damn witches in OoT again... :ph43r:

I think it WAS a spell, now that you mention it. Stupid stupid stupid stupid.......>_< Although, Sheik still seemed to know what he/she was doing, even without Zelda's consciousness...:D

Dirty Harry - July 18, 2006 04:36 PM (GMT)
Theorised that Sheik is a separate consciousness? Maybe...

It can be said that parts of Zedla's emotions and all of her memories are retained by Sheik, and it can also be said that Sheik can't exist once Zelda gets rid of him, due to her saying (manga only) that it was fun to be Sheik, and go on an adventure, but it can't happen anymore, and now she must be Princess Zelda. Or something.

Linkthekeeperofcourage - July 28, 2006 09:48 PM (GMT)
I think they can be a couple because of the bond they share as hero and princess. It just fits together. Malon can just go find someone else. POO ON YOU MALON>

Dirty Harry - August 2, 2006 11:50 AM (GMT)
:( don't bash.

Alantie - August 2, 2006 04:55 PM (GMT)
I agree. Malon is a fine character, I just don't believe she and Link are a couple.

Ahem, now that that's out of the way . . . lets face something: LoZ follows much of the classic fairy tale plot lines. . . what's a classic fairytale thing? Hero and Princess. It just works. *is tired*

Ingie - August 5, 2006 07:03 PM (GMT)
I used to really like Malon, not nearly as much as Zelda, but I thought she was cute. Her singing did get old though... but I'll blame the N64 sound capabilities for that. XD I actually started disliking Malon because of the extreme Zelda-bashing-Malon-lovers. Some people will just say the most ridiculous things... it can get pretty ugly.

I never even considered Malon to be the girl for Link. She just wasn't nearly important enough in the game, and I thought she wasn't good enough for Link. I mean, she's a farm girl. How could she even begin to understand what Link has to go through? The things he's seen and fought? Only Zelda could understand, because she's walked the same difficult path as him.

And that's why it's not just the princess/hero thing that made me a Zelinker. It's the idea that Link and Zelda would grow closer to each other and fall in love as they struggle to defend Hyrule together. That is so much deeper than then anything Malon and Link could share, in my opinon. I don't even have to mention they're bound to each other through the Triforce.

Dirty Harry - August 6, 2006 09:37 AM (GMT)
All good points. And like...they do watch each other for the whole time in OoT (Shek and Link). Mind it's raining. Just like when Ganondorf took over :( <_<

Very true. Its the depth they share together that makes me a Zelinker too. And the thing you said about the Triforce hit it on the nail perfectly. Their fates are bound to each other, and they always will be. Malon will fade, remembered as a friend, but Zelda is a constant part of Link's life.

Dirty Harry - August 7, 2006 12:01 PM (GMT)
