Title: Scars
Description: Himura Kenshin/Battousai is love!
Alantie - July 23, 2006 02:58 AM (GMT)
Welcome to Scars, the club for the character Himura Kenshin, sometimes known as Battousai, from the hit anime, Rurouni Kenshin. Sometimes the silly redhead with violet-blue eyes, elbow deep in soapsuds, or the fierce, cold, golden-eyed assassin, Kenshin is a complex character that perhaps can never truly be understood. If you share my love of this fire-haired wanderer, please, sign up!
Banner donations are welcome, needed, and loved!! :D

Well, while I don't mind you fangirls, I'm not one. I'm a guy, remember?
And nice banner. :D

Lol, of course I remember that you're a guy! I mean was, you like seeing us girls squealing over guys ;) Like Kenshin. . . teehee
Do you guys prefer the Ken/Kaoru or Ken/Tomoe? I've yet to see the OAV or read the manga with Tomoe, but I think I know enough anyway, but I'm still a die hard K/K fan. I respect and enjoy the realtionship K/T had together, but K/K are meant to be! :D

Kenshin/Kaoru. All the way. One of the best FF's for them is called Broken Pieces. Its by Linay of FF.net, really long but SO SO SO worth it. Its awesome and should be made a movie.
Yeah, I dunno why, but I didn't get much of a Kenshin/Tomoe vibe. I mean it was pretty...but they just don't mix. Like you said Atlantie, I respect it...but K/K is just sooo much better! XD
Dirty Harry - July 24, 2006 08:32 AM (GMT)
If someone were to explore K/T, and make Tomoe die I would designate it as a way to crush Kenshin's spirit, but not neccessarily make him all outraged. Kaoru dies...maybe he kill himself. Good argument is that K/T is only first love; he'd never known anything other than Tomoe, so he didn't really know who he really loved. I dunno...now is spouting random crap...

YAY Lutey! :glomp: Welcome! So glad to have ya here! ^_^
Do you happen to have a link to that story Amaya? I don't think I've ever read it, but if its as good as you say, I'd love to read it! There truly are some beautiful FF stories about Kenshin and Kaoru; you just have to sift through all the junk first!
Yes, I think I agree with you firefly. Tomoe was Kenshin's first experiance ever with love. He was just 16, and I believe she was 19? He was young, hadn't seen much of the world. I think KEnshin and Tomoe had something sweet together, but Kaoru is better for Kenshin in so many ways. I like the idea of Tomoe and Kaoru becoming friends, and I think Kaoru is what Tomoe would want for KEnshin anyhow.
It kind of makes me angry when people say that Kenshin takes Kaoru for granted or the other way around, or that Kenshin doesn't respect her or whatever. What they have together is beautiful, and I truly think they are perfect for each other. They balance each other out, making up for the flaws in each other.

In the words of Dazzler, who represents all relationships between people with big gaps in their age.
"Whoa, he must be twice her age. That, is like, so hot..."
I do not share this view. On TxK. Sorry if it was unclear before.
Alantie - July 26, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
Er- Are you referring to Kenshin and Kaoru or Kenshin and Tomoe? Either way there is an age gap. . . Kenshin is ten years older that Kaoru and Tomoe was three years older than Kenshin.
I dunno, usually I don't find huge age gaps to be 'hot' but every now and then when I see a couple with a big age difference, yet they are so obviously meant for each other, I can over look it. Such as with K/K :P
I think what truly bothers me about the Kenshin Tomoe relationship is much of their love was based on a lie. That just seems so wrong, so sad. A horrible way for a romance to begin. And I believe that Tomoe and her fiancee (I don't know his name, my appologies) were very much in love (didn't Tomoe write that somewhere in her diaries? Grah, must get those mangas!!). I think Tomoe's time with Kenshin helped her heal herself, helped her learn how to forgive Kenshin so she didn't die with such a grudge. Likewise, Kenshin's time with Tomoe helped him learn how to survive, she helped him be able to be himself amongst all the death and dying around him. They were good for each other, a learning experiance so to say.

Kiyosato. In my opinion, if I really wanted to say TxK, it actually would be that TxK was the same as KxK, except KxK is the true form. Like, in the OVAs, you can see how Tomoe is like...reminiscent in Kaoru, during the part where Enishi and Kenshin fce off? I dunno, it is my twisted little view that came popping into my head...

No, I think I understand what you mean. You're trying to say that Tomoe and Kaoru are somewhat alike, right? I can see what you mean, there are similarities, but there are also major differences in personality and what stages of their life they were in when Kenshin met them. Kaoru is loud and active, Tomoe is quiet and subdued. There's this website called By the Window that does a pretty neat comparison of the two women. . . Ah, here it is:
