Title: how many have played the classics?
elphie - July 8, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
i've played them, thanks to my brother who owns nes and super nintendo. i wuv those oldies, cause the arrow system is so much different then n64 ones. i also played the oldies for regular gameboy, and gameboy pocket.
(i was bored, but i did post this completely useless topic in the right section, right?))

yep yep! as a matter of fact it's what got me started in videogames
The original Legend of Zelda was my first game ever :D (and duck hunt of course :P)
I have the remake for my GBA SP <33

It depends on what you mean by the classics xD.
Anyways, if you mean the older 8-bit/16-bit games, then I guess I should be counted in. It was one of the many video games I've played on those old systems (I have to admit, I was into stuff by Sega rather then Nintendo xD)
Sadly, We never owned the original cartridge for TLOZ or Link's Adventure. We have my Zelda's Collectors Edition for GCN, though xD.

I didn't really get into video gaming till about five or six years ago, so I missed out on getting some of those classics. But, being a bit of a law breaker, I've since downloaded illegal roms of the NES, SNES, GB and GBA Zelda games, and I love them all

*cheers for her Famicom* I want to play it right now. Frickin' TP pissin' me off.

My first video game was Link's Awakening for the Game Boy (speaking of which still works, too)... really, really old. But I have played all of the Zelda games, not counting Twilight Princess. I own the Collector's Disc, so that helps.
And there is nothing better than playing the original Legend of Zelda on the big screen, with the comfortable controller of the Gamecube.

My first Zelda Game, was Legend of Zelda. Usually people's first are OoT from my generation. But mine was LoZ. :P
Goomba - August 11, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)

The Legend Of Zelda II :D
se says that that's a bad game,

That game was awesome.
YAAALLLLL! ZELDA AND LINK KISSED IN THE END 8DD
all-right.
HyruleMaster - September 3, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)
The first Zelda game that I ever played was A Link to the Past when it was out on the SNES. (We never owned a NES).
But I did get a chance to play the ancients when I got the Zelda Collector's Disc. XD
Angel Zelda - September 3, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
I've played the original Legend of Zelda and a bit of Link's Awakening. Ah, good times, good times.
Saami - February 11, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
I've played Link's Awakening. It was my very first Zelda game. I've played the remake of ALtTP, though I don't know if that counts.

I'd say that counts. It's the same game, but on a different system. It's still classic. =)
Zeruda - February 12, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
I grew up with the classics- TLoZ was my very first game ever (Dad got it for me when I was 2), then I went on to play AoL, LA, ALttP, and so on and so forth.
Hylian Sword Master - February 12, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
i only played A Link to the Past, cause I came into the video games era late. It was and is a good game though. Took me ages.
zelda-in-disguise - August 5, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
Well, I've played ALttP for the Gameboy Advanced and TLoZ for the Gameboy Advancd too. I hoping to get the second one soon...
Hylian Princess - August 6, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
By classics, do you mean the older versions for game boy, when Link had pinkish hair one time???
Love_of_Zelda - September 1, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
I've played the original LoZ on the Wii Virtual Console if that counts for playing the classics. I'm looking for ALttP, but haven't been able to find many copies.
Ventor - February 19, 2009 12:34 AM (GMT)
I've played and own every Zelda game up to date, the classics will always have a special place in my heart. Come to think of it, I actually really like Zelda II. Sure it's different in a ways, but uniqueness is good and it was really challenging and fun. i still play the original and other classics all the time, some of the best games ever.:link:
KokirianClockwork - February 19, 2009 03:52 AM (GMT)
I am trying to beat them!
I'm in the third dungeon in the first Legend of Zelda. I plan to try out Adventure of Link, and I plan to finish it even if it takes all my life. (I don't mean ''spend all my life in it'', more ''even if I play a minute a year for 20000 years'', just an example. Can't live that long, ya know!?)
Getting close to the end with ALttP and I have started Link's Awakening!
I think Nintendo had subliminal messages in those games since normally I don't get hooked by 2D games. Not enough to actually try and finish them anyways. o_o
I mean, Link isn't even all that good looking in the official art for those games. What keeps me coming back?
Maybe the music...
And Ganon in two of these cases.
Mandy - February 19, 2009 04:39 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty terribad at AoL when I play it on my DS >.< I watched my bro play the original LoZ, does that count? lol :D
I do want to finish ALttP someday...I really should :(
Crystal187 - February 19, 2009 05:03 AM (GMT)
I haven't gotten ahold of AoL yet, but the original LoZ is HARD! I still haven't beaten it! Alas, I have been spoiled by the ease of most of today's video games.
MalonsLover - February 19, 2009 04:32 PM (GMT)
Not trying to brag but I have beaten AOL dying less than 20 times. (19 exact) :ph43r: B)
