Every voting year usually a new person moves into Limestone to become mayor of Limestone. For the most part they have no chance because most of the people voting age has town pride and like the person running who is originally from Limestone. And everyone in Limestone this year are very confident that Mayor Edmund has nothing to worry about. Because everyone loves him. The young and old alike. Besides he’s done so much for the town already and he’s only been in one term. He’s been the best Mayor the town has seen in a long time. Absolutely no one would ever think of running against him. At least no one who knew any better.
At least that is what everyone thought before the family running against him moved in and it turned out to be Connor Lennon. Not many of the younger generation know how this guy is but George Edmund does. They went to High School together, he was the captain of the football team. He was the Prom king. He was also one of the students he beat out for the valedictorian spot so he wasn’t only popular, he was very intelligent. And he hated George. Because it is pretty much common knowledge that George was a nerd and it’s just in the DNA of the popular kids to hate nerds. And now, after leaving Limestone for what everyone thought was for good he has come back and declared his spot in the running of Mayor to Limestone.
Connor moved to the great state of Illinois after he graduated from Limestone and attended University of Illinois on a football scholarship. He met his late wife Emily and they immediately fell in love. After they both went though college and worked out what they wanted to do with their lives they figured it was time they had kids. So they had three. Savannah, Tamryn, and Sasha. And everything seemed to go swimmingly for the family until one day not that long ago Emily was killed in a fatal car crash.
Very broken up about it, as his kids were Connor decided to move home and when he arrived and saw that George Edmund was Mayor, and having the same, if not better credentials then this candidate he decided to run against him. Now no one who has ever lived in Limestone has ever run against another member of the town so this is a new thing for the residence. They don’t know who to vote for. George has great morals and would never do anything close to mud slinging but Connor has never been above getting a little dirty since he his just about they very opposite of Mayor Edmund. It’s quite obvious that it’s going to be at least an interesting race.
And since it’s still half a year before election day it’s very clear that there is still going to be a lot of... fun to be seen. Sure when you think of elections, or debates you don’t think of fun, but have you ever been to one where both candidates have hated each other since the very day they met back in Kindergarten? Probably not.
