General:
There are things that Sasha has a few things in common with his family but a lot more things that he has different from them. The first and most obvious thing is, most of the people in his family aren’t soft spoken, even if they should be. Sure a lot of people wouldn’t call Sasha soft spoken, a lot of people would just say he doesn’t talk. Because that’s true. For the most part Sasha doesn’t talk to a lot of people. And you might be thinking, oh that’s probably just because he’s afraid to get close to people like other members of his family, but that’s not really true. Probably out of everyone in his family Sasha is the least changed. He really never spoke much, and when he does it’s just a straight forward thing, no frills or anything like that about it. He’s just always been like that ever since he was a little child.
Also something different he has from certain members of his family is that he’s actually a nice person. Sure he doesn’t talk but he’s not mean. He may be a little cynical and dark for some people but that doesn’t mean he’s going to go out and be rude and mean to everyone. A lot of the reason he is quiet is because he likes listening to other people. So he can understand them better. Because he wants to be a writer and to do that you have to understand people, right? Of course he’s not nice to everyone all of the time. He’s not that kind of person. But being raised in a family like he was, it would be hard and very unbelievable if he turned out like that.
He seems like he’s not an emotional guy though that’s not really true. He’s not a robot he has feeling as emotions. But I shall point out again that if you look at the people in his family and how well they deal with emotions you might understand that a little better. He’s emotional when no one else is around. Because he’s one of those people who kind of see things so deeply that they can see how screwed everyone else is, not just him. And he’s a rather empathetic guy so he doesn’t just feel his own pain, he feels others as well. Because he’s a writer and he carries that kind of stuff around with him. He would just never want to be seen crying because that isn’t the way he was raised. Even if they didn’t realize that was what was happening he just wasn’t shown it was ok to be emotional about stuff. Not just him because he was a boy, but his sisters too, or at least Tamryn. Who he still doesn’t believe has feelings... but that’s a different topic all together.
But as much as he blames his family for all his dysfunctions he cares about them, even if he would never admit it even if his life depended on it. But that is how he is about his feelings for everyone. And since he is probably the least changed from what happened he has the ability to look in on his family and see how screwed up everything has gotten, and that’s saying something since he can safely say their family was screwed from the beginning. But he’s just never been one of those to step in and work on things, he’s never been a person of action. Besides it’s really depressing to watch his family deteriorate. So what has he been doing to work things out in his own way? He’s writing a book about his family. He’s just never been the person who has taken action because that’s just not him, that’s always been his dad. But his dad seems to be as screwed up as the rest of them are and that is seriously saying something.

Sasha was born the day before the most romantic day of the year on February 13th, the day before Valentines Day. Though of course having that happen he kind of ruined Valentines Day since his mother was still in the hospital on it but she always told him that it wasn’t bad. Having him then just made it that much more special. But he just believed that she said that to make him feel better about himself. Or at least feel better about ruining Valentines Day, which Sasha can’t say he was really upset about in the first place, but that obviously didn’t really matter, did it? Nope. He was always a quiet child and had his parents worried that maybe he couldn’t talk, even when he was a toddler he hardly ever spoke to anyone.
Of course he did speak just he hardly ever did. His parents just figured he was shy though that wasn’t very true either. He just didn’t like to talk. They realized that once he hit school he wasn’t shy. Because he talked in class. When questions were asked he was the one to raise his hand and answer them and probably would have been the teachers pet if he were at all sociable outside of the classroom. But he just really didn’t seem like he was having it and a lot of the people thought he thought he was better then them in some way because he never talked to anyone in the class. Of course he did eventually make a few friends. Some of the ones that had the same interests as him. Which did happen to be mostly girls so the rumor circulated around that he was gay. Of course it wasn’t true, he just got along better with girls then boys. Boys were so brash and he wasn’t like that at all. So he didn’t really hang out with them.
When he turned 14 though a very horrible event happened to him. He remembers that before his mom left to go get groceries for the second time that week actually because the first time he went with her and they just sort of went around and got things they wanted and not what they needed, so maybe he kind of blames himself for what happened. Because maybe if he were to focus on what they needed, she could still be there. But he really thinks there is enough blame to go around and all of them really blame themselves for whatever reasons. But he remembers Savannah getting the phone call from the police and her rushing out to the hospital. She told Tamryn to drive there after getting a hold of their dad. And Tamryn told him to call their dads office because she had to run her car to get it warmed up because it was really cold and she had a really crappy car. So he called their fathers office and he was busy so he told him to just tell him what happened. And even though Sasha really didn’t think it was appropriate to say that over the phone he was angry that his father wasn’t around so he told him that she had died. Which was by that time true, though they didn’t know that.
And after the funeral their father had the brilliant idea of moving them to his old hometown to get as far away from Illinois as he could. Sasha wasn’t as upset about it as the rest were though he still didn’t really want to leave the place he grew up. Sure he hated it but he still grew up there. And he wasn’t great at making friends so he was actually worried about that. But nothing him nor the rest of his siblings said would change their fathers mind and now they live in Texas. The worst place on earth. He hasn’t really said anything about not wanting to be there. He’s been pretty quiet about it. Because he’s decided to write a story about what has been going on. One families journey though all of this crap. Something to that extent. And so far he really thinks it’s going to turn out to be a winner.
