Lord Voldemort is at the peak of power.

A war known only to Wizards has been going on for five years now, with people on both sides. Some have joined Voldemort and became a Death Eater. Others have joined Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix, an organization created to fight and defeat Voldemort. Many students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have already chosen a side once they get out of school.

Muggles were being slaughtered, unaware that a group of wizards called Death Eaters were doing it. At least not until Janurary 5th, 1977. A small group of Death Eaters were taunting the Order by causaing mischief in a train station called the King's Cross. It is uncertain what really happened that day, but rumor says a Death Eater was throwing jinxes at a Muggle when he missed. The barrier between platforms nine and ten was destroyed. Many muggles found their way through it and within hours all of Enlgand knew Wizards existed.

Soon, all of the muggle world learned Voldemort's name. While some tried to join the wizards in the fight against him, others grew angry at all wizards and formed a rebellion. The rebellion has attempted to kill many wizards and witches. The only problem is it's hard to tell. There are groups against wizards who have actually killed muggles by mistake. And when they finally get a real wizard, a spell is usually cast, making the wizard untouchable. There are even parts of the rebellion who have decided to kill wizards while they're young.
