The Great Human Destroy
Learn to Fly is set in the future, 5010, precisely, after the Greatburst. The Greatburst was a set of awful, ruining wars, started by the Great Human Destroy, which was not technically a war at all- more of an era when we had all come to a point. It started with the rulers of three countries all simoltaniously making decisions none of the population agreed with, all to go to war with another country. People were upset by this, and grew increasingly cranky and sick of each other. Before the wars even started, the divorce and murder rates were at an all time high. Many were sneaking into people's-government officials, friends, even spouses-rooms and killing them in their sleep, not to mention committing suicide. It was the last straw for most people, and everyone was just fed up with the human race-they wanted everything over, done, they had made too many mistakes. So, in this was they killed themselves off slowly, leaving the world a silent place with only signs of their presence.

The Greatcause
With humans dead, the animals, however, were only happy for a little while, before the Greatcause came: the many tons of human oil spilled as the storage places for it broke down. It spilled out onto the Earth and water, decimating trees and animals. Soon, their was a 50/50 chance that food was poisonous, and then it was almost certain. The foxes, cats, coyotes, wolves and owls died first, as they mainly ate rodents. The mice and rat species, although most died off, did survive because of sheer numbers, but most of the mammal kingdom died. However, the songbirds survived. Eating insects that either flew in the air or lived in the ground, away from the oil, and usually staying up in the oil-free air and trees. However, even they were hungry and dying, many very sick, coughing up blood and oil weakly in some of the only remaining trees, most of them dead. Now, vast stretches of land were bare of any life, save maybe cockroaches. Still, the birds weren't dying like the mammals. The only mammals that had survived were the tree-dwelling ones, like opossums and ocelots, which spread and thrived as the only mammal predator. But their was one species, though a shadow of its former self after the oil killed off about a third of them, that was increasing fast and stronger than all the others. The crows, the ravens, and the blackbirds.

The Great Crow Bursting
Then, among the recked planet, the crows were fed up. Fed up with having to die form oil, starve or be poisoned. So they went out, a huge band of them, all the crows in the world, soaring towards oasis. They found it, a lovely, lush thriving forest where the last mammals lived. They could have lived there, ruling the rest of the animals, and become the next humans, but, unfortunately, they split among themselves into two groups-The Shrouded and the Lucid. These groups believed much different things-The Shrouded, that when the crows and ravens ruled, they should do it by cunning, sneaking in and killing the troublemakers, rewarding their aiders with gifts of food brought in the night, taking food from the richer species and doling out to the poor in secret. The Lucid believed the opposite-they should be honest with their subjects, tell their opinions to all and let whoever wanted to fight them do it fairly, in the open. All of The Shrouded's crows were named for their parent's favorite nonliving thing (some names could be Leaf, Jewel, Copper, Feather, or even something crazy like Stapler). All of The Lucid crows are named for their parent's favorite living species (some names could be Fox, Hawk, Moss, or Iris (species can be extinct). The crows you play should keep their Lucid/Shrouded names, so all characters should have a name that's either a living or nonliving thing, unless you give a good explanation of why they don't. They fought over the Oasis.

Oil spilled over the oasis the day before the war ended.

In the end, both sides were completely eliminated except for 60 crows, ravens and blackbirds, or the 60 Survivors.

They lived in the oasis as tree after tree died, until there was only one left.

It was an olive tree named Hero.

Modern (future) Times:

SURVIVING SPECIES: Pied crow, carrion crow, jackdaw, rook, american crow, fish crow, chiluain raven, common raven, brewer's blackbird, red-winged blackbird, rusty blackbird.

The only problem was, the survivors were stuck on the battlefield, where the whole forest had been decimated and poisoned except for one tree. The Lucid simply could not live in a different place than The Shrouded. At first, they planned to fight for the tree, even if it meant the extinction of crowkind. However, just as the first were about to draw blood, they both realized what the Creator had proclaimed, a voice in their heads ringing out angrily, saying, "If one of you draw blood, your throat will be instantaniously slit. Don't even think about, and if you all die to kill, I will abandon this planet. You'll have no backup now. I will let Earth fall to its death of all life next time, not control the oil-yes, I did control the oil, a little." Most crows were fairly religious, and believed this was true immediately. A few put this angry speech to the test, and all immediately died. So both groups decided they had to find a way to convert the other group to their cause and rule the tree-nonviolently. It's a bloodless war for control, and most crows are desperate and cynical after they saw their world ruined. Not to mention, the leaders of both groups survived and are living in the tree! So you run the power-hungry birds, dear members, and see where it takes you. Remember, if crows' numbers heal,, they can possibly become the new humans and take over the animal kingdom with their smarts and adaptability, so your crows have lots of incentive!

So this site is about The Shrouded and The Lucid and their life and times in the tree, knowing that their peace meant the difference of life and death for their species. And that's where it's up to you, players, for your characters can draw blood, therefore commiting suicide, and the whole race can collapse, or bring on a new reign of peace. It's up to you, and I'll tell you, these birds grudges go deep-The Shrouded and The Lucid are very much divided. So play it well and realistically, and may birds live on forever.
