Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket,
Never let it fade away...

Fifteen year old Yuuko Yumi sat at the docks of Phillip Island, watching the waves of the seas coming back and forth from the winds that was quinessentially the gist of how the weather's doing. Despite her long, orange hair and Japanese features... her pale, country yellow dress and sunhat made her look very elegant... beautiful... as though she came from a painting. She was in the middle of reading a manga that she brought from Japan: Detective Conan. She smiled as though she knew that Kudo Shinichi (her favorite detective) would figure out anything and everything that was a mystery to him.

"And the culprit is..." Yuuko read intently before she flipped over to the next page... then... "Watch out for Volume 78 where Conan reveals the Culprit of the Floating Shears!"... groan. No! Conan figured out all of the clues... why this? Yuuko placed her beloved book back into the beach bag that she adored so much. It was a simple straw beach bag, decorated with straw flowers and butterflies. Despite her utter disappointment, she managed to stand up and decided to walk away. Her five foot six height, creamy skin and hazelnut eyes decided to walk away and head back to the comfy city-life of Melbourne... after all, she had a lot of homework to do before school began once again.

Meanwhile...

Somewhere in Japan...

Kudo Shinichi, a seventeen year old student and celebrated detective, was on the case. Recently, he was invovled in a case involving playing cards and Russian Roulettes. And... the last thing that Shinichi wanted was to chase after a suspect because he couldn't "handle anything, anymore". His blue eyes and dark black hair blew in the wind as he ran after him, in his school uniform.

Some criminals won't make this thing easy for us detectives to handle... Shinichi muttered to himself as he strode down the mountain highway, the cold wind blasting through them in the process. However, Shinichi didn't know that an on-coming car was heading towards him and as the detective crossed the road without looking... he saw the glare of the headlights before everything turned black.

"Yuuko-san! Yuuko-san!"

Yuuko was about to head towards the train station in Flinders Street when she heard a familiar voice. Her friend, Alyssia Broome. A typical Australian, she had sandy-blonde hair, dark blue eyes and freckle-like skin... she had her school uniform on, due to the fact it was Open Day for them. And Alyssia was the one who volunteered for it.

"Oh, Alyssia-san... don't tell me that you want me to help you with your Japanese again, ne?" Yuuko groaned as Alyssia smirked. Yuuko was also a celebrated detective and a high school student.

"That's right... you do know that I have a test tommorow and I am going to loose all of my SAC points on this one if I don't pass!" Alyssia complained as Yuuko rolled her eyes. Of course, Alyssia studied at the very last minute... no wonder she barely passes Japanese.

"Okay, if I give you my notes... you owe me sushi, okay?" Yuuko warned her as Alyssia gave Yuuko one of her tooth-bucked grins. Well, Yuuko figured that she'd take her seriously... if food was invovled. Espeically... Japanese food. And sushi was one of them.

"Okay, okay... I'll do it! Arigato, Yuuko-san!" Alyssia embraced her tightly as Yuuko decided to chuckle in a fit of embarrassment.

Man, if my day couldn't get worse... Yuuko thought to herself, but then again... wait till she goes onto her platform...

~*~

Meanwhile, as soon as Shinichi opened his eyes, he tried to focus his vision on his surroundings. He figured that he wasn't killed by the car with the glaring headlights, but he was surrounded by people... and... trainlines? Shinichi had no idea where he was or what was going on. He was somewhere that he didn't want to know about.

"Okay... where am I?" Shinichi muttered to himself, in Japanese. He knew that it was an English-speaking country, since the words were almost familiar to him. Then... the shock.

"Shinichi-sama?" There, in all of its glory, Shinichi turned around and saw a girl in a pale-country yellow dress... along with her friend... gasped in shock horror. Okay... it looks like someone recognized him and he wants an explnation for it. Well, as soon as they stopped gawping at him in the first place.

Case 01: Clash of the Two Detectives

Yuuko was heading towards Melbourne Central, where her apartment was recently located. However, as she went down the elevator, she saw a familiar person. No... she wasn't dreaming or hallucinating... it was real. There, right near the front of the underground entrance... was Kudo Shinichi. Seven foot two, black, cropped like hair, fair skin... blue eyes, nice smile... that was the Kudo Shinichi that Yuuko dreamed of meeting.

"Nani? Shinichi-sama?" Yuuko gasped in horror as Alyssia tried to glare at the Japanese detective. She didn't know what Yuuko was gawking about, nor why she was gawking in the first place. Perhaps she found a boyfriend to her taste? Well, perhaps along the lines of her favorite fictional detective, Kudo Shinichi... but, somehow, Alyssia didn't see it happening. Nope, not a chance. There wasn't a place in hell that Yuuko found someone that resembled her fictional detective.

"Err... okay, Yuuko, what the bloody hell is going on?" Alyssia tried to ask her, but Yuuko happened to be... stunned. She didn't know what to say. Maybe the connection was that school guy in the navy blue uniform... and her manga-ka novels. Anyway, she'd preferred to be reading the latest Dolly Magazine... at least it was a lot more interesting than Yuuko's manga-ka novels.

"Okay... you think you found the perfect boyfriend, then..." Alyssia tried to guess, but sadly, she's mistaken. Yuuko has found her idol: Kudo Shinichi. At this point in time, Shinichi... well, he's a tad surprised. Then, going into his calm and cool mode... he headed towards the duo and flicked Yuuko on the forehead.

"Oi... you okay?" Shinichi said in broken English as Yuuko didn't mind that. Usually, Yuuko would've minded if someone flicked her on the head: but, since it came from Kudo... she didn't mind that. In the meanwhile, Alyssia rolled her eyes.

"Oh, brother..." she muttered back as Yuuko was squealing in excitement.

"Alyssia-san... this is Kudo Shinichi... the guy in my manga-ka! I told you that he's handsome! I told you so!" she squealed like a twelve year old teenager who had nothing else better to do. Alyssia, on the other hand... rolled her eyes at her.

"For a detective, you sure like to squeal about it," she said with a sigh as Yuuko pouted at her.

"Well, he's famous... F-A-M-O-U-S..." she retorted as Shinichi glared at the both of them. He had enough of the girly chatter and wanted some details, immeadiately.

"Well, can either of you tell me where I am?" Shinichi said in flat-out Japanese as Alyssia began to twitch. Did the guy say something rude in Japanese? Alyssia shook her head as Yuuko gave a short laugh of embarrassment.

"Oh... Gomen, gomen... you're at Flinders Street Station," Yuuko began in Japanese, as Shinichi arched his eyebrows. That wasn't going to give him much.

"I meant... which country?" he asked as Yuuko began to blink at him. He seriously had no idea where he was? So, Yuuko sighed and pointed out the obvious.

"You're in Melbourne, Australia. If you want to know the year, it's 2008," Yuuko sighed as though it wasn't important. However, this was important to Shinichi because he decided to respond by screaming.

"Nani?"

It was a little later that the three of them sat down in the Food Court of the mall known as Melbourne Central. It was a busy mall, had all sorts of various shops and tibits that was not known to mankind. Well, if someone decided to explore the place first prior to buying stuff. Shinichi drank his black coffee... something to calm him down and to sort his brains out. Meanwhile, Yuuko had her frappe and Alyssia had her cappucino... the three partipcipated in a lively discussion about Shinichi's origin and how he managed to get himself here.

"I see. I came from a manga known as Detective Conan and... why was I turned into a young boy in the first place?" Shinichi asked as he looked at the manga-ka that contained his so-called adventures. Yuuko shrugged in response to Shinichi's question.

"Well, Shinichi-sama, they haven't written the conclusion as of yet, since it's so popular in Japan. I mean, they made movies about you and specials that speak praise of you. You're officially well-known all over the world... like Sherlock Holmes," Yuuko explained as Shinichi nodded, calmly. He quietly understood why this 'Black Organization' wanted him dead, but he didn't understand that he was transformed into a small boy instead of killing him instantly. Alyssia, in the meanwhile, had no idea what either of them said. Meaning, Yuuko and Shinichi spoke in Japanese half the time. No English subtext.

"Okay... why am I feeling that I'm being left out here?" Alyssia asked as Yuuko began to smirk.

"Well, Alyssia-san, you should study a little more in Japanese if you want to know what the great Shinichi-sama had to say about all of this," she smirked as Alyssia rolled her eyes.

"Oh, whatever..." Alyssia said as she quietly sipped her cappucino. As if that was going to ease her mind.

Meanwhile, a few tables off...

"Have you got the money?"

A rough, bouncer-like figure with a bald head and tattoos across his neck and forehead hissed to his friend on the other side of the table. His black T-shirt and his silver dog-chain and muscles made him look like Chopper* Junior. His friend, a business-man, nodded as he gave the suitcase to him.

"Okay, I got it. The cheque is in there. Just leave my family alone, okay?" he said with a quiver in his throat as the bouncer snorted to him.

"Got it. Screw with me again, and I swear to God that you're on my hitlist," the bouncer said as he went off with the money. With a worried look on his face, the businessman calmly stood up and headed for the train platforms that were placed nearby. After all, he didn't want to get his employers worried about him...

~*~

"Sarge! I got something!"

Meanwhile, there was a delay in the train time tables. Someone... allegedy pushed someone off and a train ran over that victim. Two detectives, Detectives Senior Constable Maybelle Gunslinger and Detective Senior Constable Richard Price, looked at the crime scene, thinking more of a homocide than a suicide. The blood splatters were an indication.

"The victim had one of his shoes being stuck onto the railings of the train before it collided. I think the victim tried to pull it out, but the victim was too slow and the train collided with the victim, therefore... roadkill," Gunslinger told her partner as Price snorted in confirmation.

"Aye. Where the bloody hell is Senior Sargent, by the way? She said she'd come here to see if we should open a murder inquiry... the bloody press was sniffing all over it," Price groaned as an older woman, in her thirties, came down the elevator with an amused look in her eye.

"Questioning the people upstairs, thought they might see someone suspicious who might be exiting Melbourne Central in a hurry," Detective Senior Sargent Helena Clues added as she looked at where the body had fallen. "Heh... looks and smells like a homocide to me. See if you can get any information from that HQ Cafe Stand... store owner must've seen something," she said as she surveyed the area. With a sigh, Gunslinger and Price headed over to the counter, to see a woman who was crouching in a fetal position, hiding her tears from everyone who might have seen it. For now, the crime scene was going to take a long time to comprehend what was going to happen, next...

Meanwhile...

At the Melbourne Central Train Station Gates...

The announcer spoke loudly as soon as it made its announcement.

"Attention all passengers. The trains on Platform Four will not run. The trains on Platform Four will not run. Connex apologizes for any inconvience caused. Beep. Beep," the announcer called out, causing a few groans among the crowd. However, Alyssia threw her hands in the air.

"Oh, great... looks like I'm going to have to explain to my mom why I'm late for the umpteenth time. Train delay, how lovely," she said in sarcasm as Yuuko looked around. There were a few officers in blue, but nothing out of the ordinary. However... she saw a familiar person and began to frown.

"I think I know why the delay is so long. Someone was killed on Platform Four, the police are investigating it," Yuuko said softly before two detectives, a woman in her late twenties and a young Aborginal man in his thirties came across them.

"Oh, Yuuko, hun... coincidence that you managed to get yourself here," Gunslinger began as Yuuko gave a grim grin to them. She knew the two of them... they came from the Homocide Unit in Melbourne and often asked for her help when needed.

"Train delay because someone decided to jump?" Yuuko inquired flatly as Price snorted.

"Aye. I'll tell the conductors to let you through," Price said as he motioned for one of the Inspectors to come forward. His pale-green trenchcoat and his police badge were visible in the distance as the Inspector came towards them. Price pointed to Yuuko before he explained.

"The girl is a private detective, you know who she is, right?" Price asked as the Inspector nodded.

"Of course... Yuuko Yumi, private detective and high school student. I'll let her through," the Inspector responded as he used his card to let them through. However, Shinichi and Alyssia were left behind, in protest. Yuuko turned around and asked if the duo can come along with her.

"I doubt that they'll cause trouble, though. And... err... Kudo-san," she began as Shinichi's eyebrows arched upwards as though it was amused by Yuuko's words, "is a private detective too. He, err... doesn't have his licence, but he's pretty good at his deductions," she said sauvely as Price rolled his eyes.

"Well, provided if he doesn't avert the course of Justice, he can come... and don't tell anyone about it," he said as Shinichi nodded.

"Yes, of course, sir," Shinichi said in broken English before he had thoughts in his head.

Oi, oi, oi... she didn't tell me that she's a detective too! Shows... he thought before he entered the platform below them. That is when their adventure is about to begin.

Case 02: The Train Collision

Truth be told, the Melbourne CSI unit were still there, gathering pieces of evidence that might be of use to the courts at hand. Meanwhile, Shinichi looked at the blood splatters that came from the train and from the walls of the Burnley Tunnel... he hummed to himself as he tried to figure out the whole situation at hand.

Hmmm... I believe this is more than just a simple murder. I think this is more like a series of killings... the shoe that was stuck in the railings... how did the murderer know this was about to happen? He... or she... must have figured the angle of the railings so that the shoe got stuck on a permanent basis. How interesting... Shinichi thought as he looked at the others. Yuuko was talking to the woman who crouched in a fetal position.

"So, this man... he brought a Mars Bar from here?" she asked gently as the woman gave a small nod.

"Yes... and then, he went over to the other side of the platform and he pushed that poor businessman down... he tried to get up, but that man didn't help him at all. He looked as though he wanted him dead," the woman choked in her tears as Yuuko nodded. It was a case that might prove unusual.
