"This mission will never work! I don't even know why we are doing it!" Inyar Fikel was infuriated at his new post. He was one of the most promising students from the academy, came from one of the best families, and had a good amount of political status, and yet he was forced into a position in which he was no where near the boundaries of Alliance Space. It was absolutely rediculous. After centering himself a bit, he barked at the sensors officer. "anything on sensors?"
"Negative sir, everything is quiet. Not a pirate nor an asteroid. I guess thats to be expected in the middle of no-where." "Did I ask for an opinion, soldier?" "No sir, sorry sir." His new crew needed to learn their place. They were strait from the academy, but he felt that the second they stepped onto a ship they were to learn its rules and stick by them no matter what. Of course, out here there wasn't really much he could do except throw them into the brig for a time before getting them out and sending them back to regular duty. He didn't believe in beatings. Thought they were bad for ships morale. "Well, I am going to bed. Right Hand, you have the bridge. Hail me as soon as an 'alien' vessel comes into sensor range." And with that he left the bridge, and it was only a matter of time. This he knew. |

Captain Eoval walked onto the bridge of his Assult Frigate. "We have been exploring for two years now, and yet no signs of alien life. I'm starting to lose hope in this mission." He said to himself as he took a drink from his cup. A voice came over the Intercom. Exiting Warp in 5 secconds. As the Fleet exited warp, they were outside of a uncharted starsystem. "Ok, lets start heading in-system." He said as he reached his command chair and sat down. Holograms showing their progresses and new messages from all three councils blinking red. "They always mark it as urgent." He said with an annoyed sigh. ooc: Entering your system Mark. |

Inyar woke up to the buzzing of the alarms. He woke up immediately, and began dressing himself, taking his sweet time. He went to the mess hall and ordered a cup of Y'Ark (basically a souped up version of coffee). After he got his cup of Y'Ark he went to the bridge, and nearly ran into his 'Right Hand'. "Mind telling me why the ship is set on alert status Omega?"
"Sir! I was just about to go get-" The Right Hand spat out before getting cut off. "WHY IS MY SHIP GETTING READY FOR BATTLE?!" "Sir... We have found unknown contacts near the edge of our system. Seeing as we are the only Battleship in the fleet, we need to head there immediately." The Right Hand had a concerned look on his face, as if it was between being frightened and on an andrenaline rush. "Set the ship to condition Alpha, stand down battlestations. Bring us about, set course for the unknown vessels." Fikel said this in a very calm voice, and gave the Right Hand a stern look. "If you ever over-react again, I will have you sent to the brig." The Right Hand bowed his head and went back to his post, which was sitting next to the Command chair and providing guidance when asked. "I want a sit-rep from command." "already done sir, they don't know what the hell we are talking about. Apparently our sensors don't go out this far." "... Fine then." The Ensign sitting at the navigations console spoke up finally, taking this break in between the hustle and bustle of bridge communication to tell the captain what he was doing. "Coming about to 113.6 by 0.5, small incline to get to the unknown ships." "Good, keep at it. I want a sit-rep from every section of this ship, even the cargo holds. I don't want anything not looked over." -----12 Minutes Later----- "Sir, coming in communications range of the unknown ship, still outside of visual contact." The communications officer piped up. "Understood, open hailing frequencies... all of them." Inyar Fikel straightened his uniform. A couple of beeps from the communications console signaled that the channels were open. without hesitating, Fikel extended the greeting. "Welcome, you have entered Solarian Alliance Space. You are the first race we have ever encountered other than our own. Please state your intentions." |

"Captain, we have detected a focused radio signal, in our direction. It is in a language we do not understand." Reported a communications officer. Captain Eoval blinked, and looked at the man.
"Wait, what did you just say?" He asked, surprised by this break of the natural bordom of space. "Multiple radio signals on several frequencies focused in our direction from in-system sir. Unknown language." repeated the comm. officer. "Well, this is new. Order the missile bays to load, point-defence system on alert, and railguns at half-charge. Have the Support Frigates prepare to release the smaller craft. No shots are to be fired unless the fleet is fired upon." He ordered as he brought up tactical holograms. He turned to another comm. officer, "Send a return hailing signal. Use binary code, maybe we can start communication the simple way." Captain Eoval sent a message to the Councils, and turned his chair to face the clear wall of plasma* infront of him, looking out to the darkness of space. The hailing signal was sent out on several frequencies in Binary Code, saying the eqquilvant of, "Hello, we are friendly". *For a window to be big in space, it has to be a magnitised wall of plasma. I would go into this but I don't feel like it and will simply say that scientists told me on TV. |

"Sir, reading massive energy build-up in the unknown vessel!" The Sensors officer blurted out abruptly. The weapons officer was the next to blurt something out, saying, "We should charge our weapons as well. I don't think we would be any match for this ship, its rather large and it might have a large amount of weaponry.
"Sir! new contacts originating from the same location! They are too large to be fighters, mabye frigates or cruisers!" The sensors officer began to say things in rapid-fire speech. "I don't think that this is one vessel, I think its a whole fleet of ships!" Inyar looked bewildered. Never in his life had something come to conquer his people while they were in space. "Charge the phaser banks, arm the photon torped-" "Sir, message from the unknown fleet... its in binary! translating now... they say, 'Hello, we are friendly'." The comm officer ignored the captains glares for interrupting him, but then got a look of thanks from the captain when he heard the knews. "Still doesn't explain why they are charging weapons. Still, stand down Status Omega back to Alpha. replay the message in binary." Inyar sat back down in his captains chair. Things were happening a little too fast for comfort. |

The comm. officer yelled to the captain, "Sir, we have received a reply."
"Play it." replied Eoval, and the bridge's speakers blared to life, "Welcome, you have entered Solarian Alliance Space. You are the first race we have ever encountered other than our own. Please state your intentions." Captain Eoval sat for a seccond, excited at his discovery, "Tell them that we are an Y'ghatai Exploration Fleet scouting for Sentient life. We do not wish for hostilites." He ordered the Comm. Officer, and turned to his one of his sensor officers. "Anything different about the ship?" "Just energy fluxuations sir, nothing much." "Keep me informed, I want to stay prepared." |

The comm officer gave a rather startling speech. "Sir, from what I have gathered they call themselves the Y'ghatai, they are an exploration fleet scouting for sentient life. They don't want to fight us." Inyar Fikel, who was extremely excited right now, responded to the message himself. He sent the message to read;
"Sir, we are in visual range of the unknown vessels." The sensors officer was getting jittery. "Understood, on screen." The fleet was in view now, and the fleet of ships were a site to see. Their guns and the style of the ship were beautiful to the bridge crew. |

"Another reply sir, just finished decoding." Reported the comm. officer. He played it without being told.
Captain Eoval was hesitant, but then gave an order, "Power down weaponary, but keep the missile bays loaded, those don't give off energy signatures. Move the fleet forward, and have a Support Frigate connect with us, I will go down in an Interceptor." "At once sir. Shall I send a message of acceptance?" "Yes. I will be at Port Airlock 3." Eoval replied, and got out of his chair. He took one last look at the bridge, and walked off, heading towards the airlock. The fleet moved towards the single Solarian ship, weapons powered down. A support frigate was on the side of the rear Assult Frigate, then seperated. A single Interceptor undocked, and started to head towards the Solarians. |

The Battleship began its fast pace towards Syyn'Rae, the Soltrian homeworld. Inyar Fikel rubbed his head. He was currently in his human form.
"Send a message to the interceptor to head to the planet's surface when we arrive." "Aye sir." |

The interceptor revieved the message. Captain Eoval looked over the atmohsphere scan that the fleet just took, and saw that it was habitable. Nodding to himself, he sped towards the planet.
The exploration fleet stopped several kilometers away from the Solarian ship, awaiting the results of the diplomatic relations below. |

"This is tower control to Alien vessel, if you can hear us you are cleared for docking bay 639-C, your appoach vector shall be cleared by the time you reach the area."
The flight control tower was all giddy over the new species that they would see. They never had contact with the humans, however that didn't stop them from taking their form. It would be interesting to see this new race, and to honor them by added their form to the structure. "Sir, some of the ships in the area haven't left, and more are arriving. I don't know what to do!" "Contact the alien vessel, tell them to hold position." "Sir, the vessels are taking an intercept course to the alien vessel!" The Control Tower Administrator looked bewildered as these words were spoken by the other members of the Control Tower. The whole scene was quickly fading into a chaotic one. The Administrator finally gave the orders that only he was allowed to give. "Contact the alien vessel and tell him he might be having some trouble, scramble the fighters and get them on an intercept course for those vessels!" -------- Intecept time - 4 Minutes 36 Seconds Earth Time. ------------ "All wings report in." "Alpha 2 through alpha 7 reporting in."' "Beta 1 through beta 7 reporting in." "Delta 1 through delta 7 reporting in." "All wings have reported in, sir. Omega's 3 through 7 have also reported in." "Understood. All fighters engage the alien vessel! We shall keep them from being incorperated into our Genetic coding!" |

The translation of the binary came in after fighters appeared on the interceptor's sensors. Swearing, Eoval pulled into a sharp dive, gaining airspeed, and he yelled an order into his communicator back to the fleet, "Get the remaining 49 interceptors down here, i'm under attack by unknown hostile units. All frigates are to activate their Point-Defence systems incase of an attack."
He turned his attention back to the fighters following him, and pulled up, hopeing to lead them into a scissor* and get a few into his 6 o'clock. After several long secconds of manuvering, one came into his sights, and he released two bursts infront of it. *If you watch Dogfights on the History Channel, awesome. If not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scissors OOC: The Interceptor is mainly a space-fighter, thus it would have lower thrust because it didn't need as much to go at high speed. This low thrust would make the Scissors Manouver VERY effective for it. |

The fighter faltered as it took the hits from the coilgun. "Omega 6 is hit! he is going down!" "Order the rest of the Omega's to engage the enemy vessel." "Sir, other alien vessels are coming in to intercept our fighters!" "Bring the second phase into the light, we will NOT lose this battle!" As the rest of the fighters converged on the alien vessel and the omega squadron engaged the enemy vessel, the control tower was in peril as well. The administrator sent out a message to the fleet.
--------- In space ---------- About 40 The'Krel Heavy Fighters left formation from the fleet and began an intercept course towards the Interceptors. "Battlegroup Tendrae'Sensrita engaging enemy forces." Inyar Fikel watched as the scene unfolded. He opened channels to the Battlegroup and the fleet that was supposed to be controlling it. "What the hell do you think you are doing! By order of the Supreme Laws, I will open fire if you do not return that battlegroup to your hangars!" They responded with an automated message. "Sorry, but you are now our enemy. We shall destroy all those that wish to corrupt our pure line!" Inyar sat down in his captains chair. "Set condition Omnicron. We are engaging those ships." "Sir, they are our own vessels!" "I DON'T CARE, WE ARE GOING TO PROTECT THESE PEOPLE!" The weapons officer had already anticipated this action. "Weapons are at full charge." "Good. Prepare to engage, full speed towards the nearest enemy vessel. Order all other vessels to join in the battle as soon as possible." "Message sent out, sir." "Launch the frigates and the fighters and bombers." "Already done sir." Fikel sat back, preparing for the worst. "And now, it begins."

-Captain Eoval- He fired off several rounds at two more enemy fighters, and heard something in his ear, "Sir, our interceptors are being attacked, we have ordered them to defend themselfs. We will send the corvettes down to assist you." "Roger that, I will head towards the hanger, it seems there are two different factions here. Examine the situation up there, put Captain Joud in charge." He relied as he turned his craft sharply to avoid a missile. He dived again, gaining airspeed, and twisted behind one of the leading craft in a formation, fireing off several more rounds before falling away sharply, flying only several meters above the ground. -Space- Captain Joud walked onto the bridge,"Whats the situation?" He asked generally. The commander who had been in charge turned to him. "We have translated a bit of communication in the Alien fleet. It's almost like a civil war sir. I have already ordered the charging of the Railguns, and all other military systems are online. Our interceptors have already been attacked, but we have minor losses. He reported quickly, holoscreens appearing infront of Joud. "Good, ask the original ship we made contact with to send us the target data of who to shoot. If they do not comply, destroy their entire fleet, these hostilites are unacceptable." Joud relied, and continued to walk towards the large 'window' infront of him, stopping a few feet away.
RP-Note: We DON'T translate their language, we see transmited images and non-language data. Radio is radio folks. OOC: Captian Eoval is a good pilot it seems. |

- In Airspace around Syyn'Rae - Another Air Superiority Fighter from the Omega Squadron went down, the other just barely slipped away from the grasp of the Coilgun's discharges. The rest entered a wedge formation and began their attack run on the Interceptor. The rest of the fighters were fast approaching. "Alpha wings to delta and beta wings, final check in." "Beta wing reporting green status." Delta wing reporting green status." "All wings engage-" "Beta wing to all wings! the military has responded to our attacks! We are being swarmed with AS Fighters! (air superiority, just shorter)" Beta wing broke formation as two of them were taken out from behind and below. The 20 Military AS Fighters sped towards Beta wing and were firing with all of their might, torpedoes following shortly. -------- On the Ground ------- A small private army was marching at the doorsteps of the control tower. The administrator looked around at the scene unfolding in space, then redirected his attention to what was happening in the air, and then to what was going to be happening on the ground. They had already set up anti air and artillery within the city, and they had already sent Gunships to drop a few elite troops to take care of those and provide support when needed. One of the troops decided to comment on the things going on around him. "It's like a full civil war here! I can't believe it, its been only 1 year since the founding of this Alliance, and somehow a group of people are intent on screwing the peace up!" "Stay in line soldier! we have to keep them from taking this control tower!" -------------- In space ----------------- "Sir, the Alien fleet has requested the acquisition of targets." Inyar Fikel was now standing, his hair was an unkempt mess. The ship had taken 3 hits from a Photon Torpedo, all of which impacted the shields. The Shields had faltered for mere seconds, but had allowed a couple of enemy bombers to slip through the openings. The Pulse Phasers had taken care of the bombers, but some of the systems on the ship had taken serious damage. If he kept making tactical mistakes like this, he would have the first and only battleship of the fleet blown to bits, which wouldn't look good on his record in the unlikely event that he had survived. "Give them the targets, We need to get control of this and their weapons seem to be much more powerful than ours." "Aye sir, transmitting now." The battle had just come into full swing, the 2 Assault Frigates from the Hangar had just unloaded their capacitors on one of the enemy carrier frigates, which had its shields overloaded, allowing the Assault Carriers own photon torpedoes to take it out. It was like a sweet justice to Fikel as he saw it silently go 'boom'. The shockwave and debris from the blast had taken our 3 other bombers, 1 of which was an allied bomber. Meanwhile, it seemed that the rest of the enemy fleet was concentrating on the alien vessels. The Assault cruiser sped past the defending fleet, heading straight towards the lead Frigate, and launching torpedoes at it. Inyar Fikel saw what they were doing as the bomber zoomed as fast as the torpedoes, and along the same intercept line. "Tell them to strengthen their shields on point of contact. Don't let them let those bombers through!"
