Kroot And Devilfish

ok, so i'm confused as the Dickens.
Nowhere! NOWHERE! does it say the the Kroot cannot take a Devilfish! EXCEPT! on one tiny page of the New codex, i dont know which one because i am too lazy to go get it, but i believe it's one that talks about kroot tactics. And it says they cannot take a devilfish. I can understand if they take hounds and oxes but i think a team of 12 kroot or less should be able to be mounted in a devilfish!.

The kroot do not have a transport option in their army list entry and there is no transport in the list that can be taken independent of an infantry team so the only transports we can take are dedicated to a specific unit (either FWs or PFs)

It's too bad, I would really like to be able to put a drone sniper team in a transport since they can't infiltrate.

I disagree. Kroot in a devilfish wouldn't be fluffy. They have infiltrate which is a far more fluffier method.

If you really want a Kroot transport I'd go for a Great Knarloc with a howdah. Kinda like the Lizardmen skink stegadon.

Cool, I was trying to think of a way to turn a Knarlac into a transport for them and couldn't come up with anything, Kroot in a Howdah ... HeHe

Yeah, I'm planning to do that conversion someday, but not for a very long time...

I won't be doing such a conversion for a VERY long time. Not until I do my kroot merc army, which is after my IG army which is after my tyranid army, which is after I finish my Tau army.

No one can accuse me of not planning ahead

Lol, then I might be starting that conversion sooner than you after all... I just need to finish my Tau army first before I start on Kroot mercs....

But with the pace I'm going...It'll probably a few years plan...

I don't plan that far ahead....after my remora I'm taking on my shas'o again...which is lying around 90% finished... Wish I could post up pictures before I'm leaving abroad as it is probably the most converted crisis suit out there... Don't think I'll have the time to finish it before that time though....

Okay you seem confused a bit. Right here goes. Only troops that say the term Transport in their profile may take a Transport (DEVILFISH) choice in a Tau army this means fire Warriors and/or Pathfinders. If you have Kroot on the field and there is a Empty Devilfish free, you could
(if you'd like) put the Kroot in there and shoot them up or down the field. Remember though a Devil fish can carry 12 models, however can't put XV suits in a Devilfish. But strangely you can put a Krootoxen or <cough> three. ¬_¬

OK, you seem a bit confused,

First, I already said above that D-Fish can only be taken by FWs or PFs as only they have a transport option.

Second, the rule book specifies that dedicated transports can ONLY be used to transport the unit they are purchased for. You cannot load any kroot into an empty D-Fish no matter what. (unless you are playing some special rules your opponent agreed to before hand)

Third, this was kind of an old post, check the dates of the replies before posting.
