Yes, it was. but it does provide some explanation for Kais' martial prowess, he's essentially possessed by khorne for the whole story,

but yeah, Firewarrior, like all the GW books, is an iffy source of fluff at best.

Yes, but in a very subtle way (and according to the story probably not lasting), so no limbs growing out of strange places, no bio-morphing of weapons, no glowing eyes and all that stuff. In the case of Kais the chaos that possesed him made him stray off the One Path. And only by a strong will it's possible to return. He has to fight the demon within. Go read the story, it's worth it...

I thought the book was OK, but SOOOOOO obviously based on a first person shooter video game.
