As much as we might wish that forums such as Kovash Tauva didn’t need sets of rules, it is these rules that keep Kovash Tauva the open, friendly place that it is. Most of these rules are basic common sense things, but everyone should take a moment to glance through them so that we can keep Kovash Tauva the friendliest Tau and Kroot board on the internet.



1) The most important rule is to just be polite. Respect the other members and their feelings. This means no bullying or making fun of other people or their ideas, no swearing or harsh language. Try to use at least basic English grammar and spelling. Also, no leet or net speak. Many of our members have English as a second language and it’s important for us to try and make posts as readable as possible.



2) Related to that but worth mentioning separately is no flaming. If you have a difference of opinion with a member about a topic that is fine. Debate is good and one of the enjoyable aspects of a board like this, but if it is getting personal or emotional, take it off the board, use personal messaging or just let the matter drop.



3) When you select an avatar, please upload or select from our list. Don't right click and copy another users avatar. Avatars are used by members to see who posted, most people don't look at the member name but at the avatar, so it gets confusing if there's two members with the same one.



4) Post your topics in the correct section. We have a pretty extensive set of forum here, covering all things Tau related and it is important to keep it all organized so that our members and guests can find what they are looking for.




5) Spamming will NOT be tolerated. Do not spam to raise your own post count and rank or to bump a topic back to the top of the list. You will first be warned, and if you continue to spam , you will be kicked from this board. Spam may be considered as posts that don’t add to the discussion: one word or one line posts like "Yup" or "Yeah I agree.". If you have nothing good to add to a topic, then don’t post on it.


Essentially we want to keep replies meaningful and interesting to read. If you want to generate more activity for a topic, post something interesting about it that people will want to read and respond to.



6) No thread jacking. Thread jacking is when you post a new question or topic in an existing thread that has nothing to do with what you are posting. For example, in a thread about Broadside Battlesuits if you suddenly ask a question about hammerheads. Thread jacking makes it difficult for people to follow the conversation and find what they want. Create a new topic instead, it’s more polite and will probably generate more answers for you more quickly anyway.



7) Pay attention to how old a topic is before posting in it. The date of each reply is given in its top left corner. If the most recent reply to a topic is older than about 6 months, don’t resurrect it unless you have something important to say about it. Most of the time it is better, and you will get more responses, if you create a new topic on a similar subject.



8) Avoid double posting. If you need to correct errors in a post or add something to it you forgot, use the edit button to modify your post instead. You should only post twice in a row if a significant amount of time (at least several days) has passed since your last post and you have something new to add. Double posting is considered spamming the board and may result in an official warning.


Again, posts should always strive to be on-topic and relevant. You shouldn’t be posting just to bump your board rank or to see your name on the screen.



9) There is to be no graphic, obscene, or excessively violent material posted on this site. This is a board with members of all ages and inappropriate content will not be tolerated.



10) For the mental health of all our members, please refrain from any discussions of real world religion or politics. This is a board about a game, not real life.



11) Do not post any advertisement for whatever source/company so. Whether harmless or not, we don't want to become a billboard. There is an exception, Games Workshop sites and other official sources of Warhammer information can always be linked to. Posting of non-official wargaming sites is only tolerated if it is correct within the context of the post.



12) Do not post links to other wargaming forums, just for the purpose of advertising, in normal posts. We are not a billboard and therefore we will not tolerate links to other forums. Links in signatures are tolerated. Links may be given if they make a post more understandable or to link to a pictures gallery of any kind. Links to other wargaming forums in posts are only tolerated in the links section. Links cannot contain any prohibited material.



13) Multiple accounts are not allowed. If the Ethereals find any person with multiple accounts who does not have a good reason for have more than one, all of their accounts will be blocked. This is to prevent spamming and to make sure that the forum is not croweded with people, wich could result in server problems.



14) Posting material with copyright without permission from the author is strictly prohibited. Posts containing such material will be deleted without further notice. This especially concerns; asking for, posting, or offering scans of information printed in any Games Workshop publications. This includes White Dwarf, Army, Codex, Rule Books or similar. It is always allowed to link to material if this is available on the internet. If you have permission from the owner to post copyrighted material please use it in its original (i.e, unaltered) form only and accompanied by an appropriate copyright statement.

15) Any decision made by the Admins or Mods is final. If you feel you have been wrongly warned or had your account suspended for the wrong reasons, you may appeal to one of the admins or mods. Then your appeal will be talked through. Any abuse to the KT Crew will not be tolerated, and will only succeed in seeing your account locked and or deleted.


Repeated failure to follow these rules will result in an official warning from the staff. Continued abuse may result in loss of access or outright banning from the site. Particularly severe violations may lead to immediate banning with no advance warning.
