World Sankirtan.Net (http://www.worldsankirtan.info) is pleased to announce the launch of the Hare Krishna FAQ wiki, currently accessible at
http://www.worldsankirtan.net/wiki. The Hare Krishna FAQ is modelled after the immensely popular Wikipedia interactive encyclopedia site (www.wikipedia.org), and aims to provide the web's definitive resource on all things Hare Krishna. An article about Wikipedia, comparing it with Encyclopedia Britannica and explaining how it functions, is available here:

Wikipedia and the Hare Krishna FAQ both run on software called a "wiki" which enables users to edit the content. The original idea of Hare Krishna FAQ was to have a "panel of experts" who would provide answers to a compilation of Frequently Asked Questions. The answers would then be synthesized and presented with the questions in a book to be published in hardcopy. However, there was some difficulty finding devotees who could give their time to such an endeavour, so instead we have decided to tap the expertise of the assembled devotees using modern social networking technologies. Anyone can contribute questions or answers simply by registering on the site. When the web site has developed far enough, the content will be published as a print book by World Sankirtan.Net Press.
