It's best to have all your items synthesized first, then you get the Ultima Keyblade, and you should be at level 80/60 or so. It takes practice, devise a plan or something. Take note of his attack patterns. =/

i beat him on my first try *no offence*

just come with some elixers be lvl 99 and have ultima wepon
and 3 items that increse ur helth bar

thats how i did it =[D

er.. if you follow this guide.. u MIGHT BE ABLE to kill Sepiroth in LVL 45..
Follow EVERY SINGLE little detail in this guide, and you should be successfull
in beating Sephiroth. The lowest I beat them using this (my own) strategy, was
lvl. 45, to start off, you MUST, have the following moves eqquipted:
Guard
Retaliating Slash
Slapshot
Dodge Slash
Slide Dash
Guard Break
Explosion
Aerial Sweep
Aerial Spiral
Aerial Finish
Counterguard
High Jump
Quick Run
Aerial Dodge
Scan
Aerial Recovery
Combo Plus
Air Combo Plus
Combo Boost(Optional)
Air Combo Boost(Optional)
Finishing Plus
Leaf Bracer
MP Rage
MP Haste
Defender(Optional)
Second Chance(Optional, I didn't use this)
Once More(Optional, I didn't use this)

You must have the following in your shortcut bar:
Cure
Reflect

Bring the following items with you:
3 Hi-Potions
1 Ether
2 Elixers

PHASE 1
Now, when the battle begins lock on and press triangle immedietly, after doing
so, go in for an attack, after attacking, do NOT give him an extra finishing
move, if you do, he will just teleport away and either do the follow: attack
from behind(sending you into the air), or do a vicsous combo. After hitting
him with your combo, run bat a few steps and guard, after guarding, immedietly
tap X, if you playing the Japanese version, tap O. This will stop his atack,
and let you go in for attack. Repeat these steps after he goes down 4 1/2 bars.

PHASE 2
When you reach 4 1/2 bars, he will mutter something, when you hear this, give
him that extra finishing move from now on throughout the whole game! Instead
of just attacking you, he will summon his orbs, to deflect these orbs, cast
Reflect, or he will cast "Sin Heartless Angel," this will decrease your MP to
0 and your HP to 1, you can evade this though, simply jump at him from
wherever you are and give him an air combo, if you know your not gonna be able
to reach him in time, stay where you are and heal using an elixer. Another one
of his attacks from phase 1 is when he comes from behind, and thrusts you in
mid air with his sword, once this happens, press square to recover, and
deliver an attack, keep pressing square to give him a good, combo, then use a
finishing combo with X(engish), or O(japanese). During this stage he will also
cast pillars of fire around him, to start this move off, he puts his hand in
the air, when you see this movement immedietly run away running, or using
quick run!

PHASE 3
Once he's got about 4 1/2 health bars left, he will teleport and start
charging up for his final phase, do not go into attack him, simply run away.
Once you see him using his traditional combo attack, immidietly jump and use
aeriel dodge, as he will close in from far range, if you get to low, use one
of your combos to stay in the air! In this phase he will also keep the purple
orbs, and the fire pillars, as well as his other moves, and an addition to 1
other attack! Meteors! He will start off by going off the map and summoning
meteors, hurling at you. To avoid this, simply jump and use aeriel doge.

And that's all it takes! If you loose, keep on trying, eventually you will get
him! Good luck!

I killed you in the first game...but boy you're hard to beat in the KH2 version. I have yet to play FFVII...I want to, though.

I can't ever find it. I know the storyline and everything, I just haven't played it for real. Whenever I find it, though. It's on, I will play that game until my head hurts then take a break and play some more until it is defeated.
