Lovely way for the club to inform Pete that his services are no longer required.

According to the evostik website peter ward left,I do agree peter did alot for the club and gave everything, as a fan I liked Pete, but maybe time for a change, we didn't make the playoffs this season, in general I thought the players were good enough, but something wasn't quite right. Great cup run of which will be remembered for a long time and successful staffs cup final.its common knowledge the budjet alot lower, so maybe the reserves will get a chance, I do believe if Johnson and bull get 20 minutes a game,by Xmas they will be in the starting line up. I do hope most of the first team stay, some may move on, maybe with wardy, if he takes up another position.Expectations at the grove will be to survive probably next season, before mounting a strong challenge the next

Reece, sorry to say if you think the club maybe better off without out Wardy and Buck you are deluded. You will not find a harder working team than these two anywhere in football, let alone at Evo Stick level and all un paid. Both were not only working as football managers but also trying to bring in finance through new fundraising ideas and new sponsors. I personally think the decision is ludicrous but it is obvious that power goes to some people heads and haven't got a clue. Survival will be the only target.

That's right Michelle, Wardy and Buck didn't leave Kidsgrove and nor did they want to leave Kidsgrove. Crazy decision by deluded people. At least the club should have decency to state the truth.

i agree with you both big mistake this is all down too one man who is playing god wardy and buck do a brilliant job i have been watching what has been going on behind the scenes and too many chiefs not enough indians maybe those who run the club thats if they have got a say instead of sitting with there mouths shut do something about it and unite the club and not potentially lead it on the road to ruin

I always thought wardy would leave this year anyway but i was convinced bucko would take over which doesnt seem to be the case.I think wardy should have been sacked the year we finished bottom and had such a huge budget but then he took on young players and built a good team around them. But i think this season he has bought in players that remind me of that team that finished bottom hence the bad season(league results).I didnt think wardy was well liked at the club by any of the older commitee members maybe they have been waiting for this day.

As I said earlier wardys effort were never in question,he was totally dedicated to the club and gave 110 percent effort and put his own funds into the club I believe, we'll beyond the job description for any manager.well Liked and yes a big loss.As a season ticket holder and away follower for 17 years, I feel that I am able to judge on what I see,we had a terrible run in the season and our away game at market Drayton was a joke, many fans thought it was time for a change then, saying that our last few games, new mills away were the best we've played for a long time, many fans havnt forgot glapwell away when we had two wingers on the bench and no width, hence we lost in the playoffs, it was those critical decisions that sometimes were needed that cost us dear. Anyway the club is what matters and I will support the club as usual no matter what,we are all managers in our own right and sometimes it a lonely place for them. But I will reiterate what I said earlier I wish Pete all the best and thank him for on the whole a job well done over the years, many thanks

Melvyn Wilkes got the lat bunch of players in but was not given the time to work with them?? lets give him the chance!! Iknow he could possibly be the next Steve Davis because of people in the game tell me he is just tactically unreal?? well lets see!! he started off really well at grove but left out of loyallty.. maybe we might get matt rhead beck with him in charge.. he is a top notch coach for sure.

Interesting call.

Matt's just agreed a new contract at Mansfield though. Good season next year and he could be gracing the Football League in 2013/14!

Wanting change after less than a month of thr club's best FA Cup run seemed a little fickle though everyone is entitled to thier opinion and I suppose thats what makes football so great. Injuries took its toll with a small squad and a reserve team lacking enough quality players to step up. Given the average attendances and budgets of other clubs I feel the club is punching above its weight at times. However should the club fall out of this leauge I doubt it would ever return which would be a travesty and betrayal of the finacial input of Terry Hllman, Stan Brown and Mick Fitzjohn. Wardy and Buck didnt just manage the team they both have the club at heart and were always looking to improve all aspects of the club costing themselves money in the process. I really enjoyed my time with club last season after 4 years break from Saturday football but I am sure i will find greener grass to cut.

Reserve team lacking quality to step up, that's a strange comment. The away game at new mills Johnson had a great game, at vale park the youngster stole the show. Danny bull came on once this season for 10 minutes scoring one of the best goals of the season, then never got another chance, no that's a strange decision.
