Hello,

I've been a fan of Jerry verDorn since I started watching him on Guiding Light in 1992, halfway through his 26 year run on that show (I now wish I'd seen the first 13 years smile.gif). In 1992, his character Ross Marler was beginning his hot long-running, on-again-off-again romance with Blake Thorpe, called "Bloss" by the online GL community. This pairing gave the character of Ross new life and new direction on the show, and I was very impressed by Jerry's subtle, yet powerful and solid performances. It was a total shock to many longtime GL viewers that tptb would take this particular beloved vet and show patriarch off-contract in the summer of 2005, due to budget cuts. I didn't think I would ever follow an actor from one soap opera to another, but I didn't want to miss Jerry's work when he moved to One Life to Live, recast as legacy character Clint Buchanan in late 2005. I created this board as a place to appreciate Jerry's work, past and present, and to support his current character Clint.

I love this board. It looks great! And since we are getting such fun storylines on OLTL right now I look forward to discussing the show and Jerry's work as Clint Buchanan.

I watched him back in the day on Guiding Light but when he was with Carrie. I think shortly after that story I had to attend school or something. wink.gif But I think he's doing a great job on OLTL. He's very talented.

Welcome KitKat! I'm also looking forward to what's coming next for Clint. The plans of OLTL's new headwriter look interesting. Can't wait to see Jerry show off that talent. sign0004.gif

I wish I had seen the Ross/Carrie storyline but I think I was like 7 years old at the time and wasn't interested in soaps yet. smile.gif

I'm only 29 wink.gif so I'm sure I was a small child then too if you MUST get technical.

I must admit between my Grandma and Mom I've watched soaps off and on most of my life. I have a passing knowledge of quite a few. But that was a great story and I remember feeling so badly that Carrie was being put away.

But OLTL is my only tape set soap. And lately it's can't miss!!

Hi Ladies,

Before JvD came to OLTL, I didn't know much about him at all except for being familiar with him being Ross on Guiding Light for a long time and him winning Emmy awards. However, I have watched OLTL off and on since childhood and was always a fan of Clint, except for maybe the years just prior to his leaving the show when they didn't show much of him anyway. I was excited about his return to the canvas in 2005 and was open to a new actor playing the part. I was pleasantly surprised with JvD in the role as I did know he played a lawyer and I wondered about him as a cowboy. But hey, that's why they call it acting. I am looking forward to posting occasionally. Emily the board looks great and I know that you will do an excellent job with it and in support of JvD. He deserves it.

sign0016.gif cher62 - glad to have you join!

While I miss Ross, I'm enjoying seeing Jerry in a different role in new situations. It's been fun to see him do new things, like that recent incident with the rifle. Go Clint! happy0065.gif

LOL i am loving on Clint these days, kicking butt and saving Pa's company. I am also hoping that Nora and Clint take their relationship to the next level soon.

I am so glad to have found out about this board! =)

Anyone who notices how wonderful and talented (and adorable) Jerry is, is welcome here. smile.gif Take a look around, and if you have any questions, just ask.

ITA - I love the action and conflict Clint is getting these days, taking his father's place as head of the family. I also want to see Clint attain some personal happiness. couple.gif He deserves it.
