((I gave in. It's purple.))

Z'ki and Nyasith
It had started when Selenith rose. Z'ki had felt... something stir within Nyasith, thought the green, uncaring as ever, had ignored it in the hopes it would go away. For a little while, it had seemed it had, and the pair had gotten on with their lives. It hadn't been long, though, before Z'ki began wondering why his dragon hadn't risen. She was old enough, that's for sure, and even the Queen, who usually took a longer time than the greens to fly, rather than shorter. He began looking for the signs, waiting, almost hoping that, despite his own nervous feelings about his first Flight, she would Rise. Z'ki was about to go ask R'sul if something was wrong when, at long last, it happened.

It was time for the mid-day meal, and Z'ki, like most other riders, was enjoying what the kitchen workers had set out. Nyasith, as usual, was asleep on her ledge, ignoring the world in her own way. Z'ki grinned at the thought of her, green hide gleaming in the sun-

The green rider almost choked on his food at the sudden change in emotion. Dropping his fork and quickly standing, muttering apologies to anyone he accidentally bumped into, Z'ki rushed from the Kitchens, a distressed Burrow appearing soon after. The brown was sending messages to his owner of Nyasith, hide gleaming, a vicious snarl on her maw. It took only a second of panicked thoughts for him to realize what was finally happening.

Z'ki raced up the steps to his weyr, glad that it was close to the ground and therefore there were only a few flights of steps to climb. He ran to Nyasith, taking her head in his arms, stroking and scratching, trying to soothe her even though he knew it wouldn't work. She growled deep in her throat, and yanked her head away from his arms. She strode out onto her ledge, sending out in waves her feelings of lust for all to know. Nyasith flared her wings, showing off her beautiful hide and she roared a challenge to the dragons of the weyr- fly fast and far, and the beautiful Nyasith will be yours!

The green waited for her suitors. She, unlike the proud queens, didn't need to blood for the energy to Fly. She needed only her lust, and the wind in her wings. Eyes whirling purple and red scanned the skies for those who would answer her call, while sensitive ears listened for wingbeats. This was her time to shine, and nothing would change that!

((First))

Xennoth purred excitedly, eyes whirling a rainbow of colors as he looked up to see Nyasith flaring her wings, voice echoing off the rocky walls of the weyr. R'sul stopped scrubbing the blue's hide, not really surprised one of the green's was rising. He could feel Xennoth's muscles quiver in anticipation.

Nyasith calls. It's been Turns since I've flown for a green.

R'sul smiled, his dragon's lust building as he prepared to take off.

Chase well my friend.

Xennoth roared in reply as he lunged, sending a spray of water in his wake, drenching R'sul in the process. He soared in front of Nyasith, flourishing his wings, showing off to her.

My wings are yours to command, beautiful Nyasith. Will you permit me to fly with you?

Despite himself, R'sul grinned, Xennoth's excitement spurring him. It had been Turns for R'sul as well, since he felt the exciting lust coursing through his veins. Not even bothering to return to his weyr for dry clothes, he headed to Z'ki's weyr and knocked politely on the door. "May I come in, Z'ki?" He was still dripping wet from being dreched by Xennoth's take off, hair hanging heavily on his head and clothes clinging to him as they dripped steadily onto the stone floor, forming a puddle underneath him.

Z'ki and Nyasith
Z'ki felt the lust rolling of his dragon as if it were a hot flame, and it was very distracting. The greenrider was trying to remember if there was anything he needed to do for his dragons first flight- but his mind came up as a blank, and he couldn't concentrate long enough to figure out if that was because there was nothing to do or because he simply couldn't remember.

Both through his eyes, and through Nyasith's, Z'ki saw a certain blue dragon appear- there was no mistaking it was Xennoth. Z'ki had been taught and around that dragon too long not to know who he was. Still, it was a little odd to think of him flying after his green- he had thought of him more as a father figure toward Nyasith than a mate. Still, he supposed, Rhakimeth had flown Selenith, and they were from the same clutch. At least Xennoth and Nyasith weren't clutchsiblings.

Then it hit him- if Xennoth was chasing Nyasith, that meant R'sul would-

Z'ki's fuzzy thoughts turned to the door as he heard a knock and a voice that was definantly the Weyrling Master's ask, "May I come in, Z'ki?" So very polite, the greenrider mused. Z'ki could barely think straight, much less be polite! Still, he managed to answer with a shaky "yes" before Nyasith took control.

And Nyasith wasn't happy. She tossed her head about, looking for another dragon that chose to chase her other than the blue in front of her- but none came. She shrieked her anger, so loud that many of the weyrfolk, just minding their own business, stopped to cover their ears. Well, if Xennoth thought just because he was the only dragon in this flight, that he was going to be let off easy, he was most certaintly wrong! She was going to make him prove he was worthy of her, to prove that he could fly fast and far! With a snarl, the green sprung from the ledge, teasingly flicking the blue's snout with her tail before racing off, nimble and quick. There was a reason greens were valued in threadfall! Even if she didn't have the endurance of some of the other dragons, she had speed that none could match, and Xennoth was going to have to learn to keep up. She would make sure of that. Old and wise he may be, but agile and quick was she!
