TNPCs, or Temporary Non-Playable Characters, are characters who are owned by members who are LoA (Leave of Absence) or are MIA. These characters can be controlled only by the admins until the member 'reclaims' ownership of the character.

NPCs, on the other hand, can be used by any member if and when needed to, for they were either created or characters given up by their original creators.
