Akina pulled a wagon behind her upon which sat a large tank filled with water and a rathed ticked off looking Juvie Tat-Lung. Akina glanced at her and sighed. How was she to pull her out of there? It was a low tank, easy to pick up things and pull things out but Arell was so heavy... She walked along the shore of the lake before stopping at a rather shallow area. Oh, that might work. she gently grabbed hold of the tank and tipped it so that the water, and Tat-lung, flowed out of it and right into the lake. But how would she get Arell back in....?
She would deal with that later. Akina pulled off her backpack and pulled out a couple of pakages of fish and rather shiny stones. These caught Arell's attention pretty quickly. "Arell." Akina said as she looked over, and she tossed her one of the small fish, which she ate happily. "Good girl Arell!" Akina praised her.

Akina grinned at Arell and hid away the stones and other treats, Arell continued to watch her, curiously, before looking at her new surroundings. She hadn't been outside of the garden's before. This place was just making her itch to explore. "Arell!" Akina called out, holding out a rather shiny object. Arell turned to look at Akina as the shine of the stone cught the light. She inched closer to shore and Akina laughed. "Good girl Arell!" she praised the juvie Tat-Lung. Akina gav her the stone which Arell quickly snapped up and ate. Akina shook her head. It was rather odd to see a creature eat a stone, but she had long since gotten used to it when she was training Twist, her Agate.

After another few moments of staring Arell directed her attention elsewhere. She wouldn't stray far from Akina but....there was that itching, under her scales. It was just begging her to go and explore. She just wanted to dive down and poke around at the bottom of the lake floor. Just for a little bit though.... "Arell." Akina's voice caught her attention and she looked over expectantly. Obviously there would be a treat for her. But there was none, just Akina nodding happily. "Good girl." she praised and ran a finger along Arell's head scales. She was petting a fish... Petting a fish. Did fish even like to be pet? Arell didn't seem to mind it much....huh.. Akina just shook her head slightly.

Arell soon became distracted, this time by other people across the lake. She drifted away a bit and Akina called out hurridly. "Arell!" The Tat-Lung hesitated, there was no treat the last time.... "Arell...." She finally tore her attention from across the lake and was rewarded with "Good girl Arell!" and another head scale stroke.

Arell tilted her head at Akina, hopeful for another treat. But none was forth coming so she turned, once more intending to dive down. Akina called to her then "Arell." The Tat-Lung turned around to look at Akina and was rewarded with a "Good girl Arell." and another head scale rub. Akina laughed gently and sat back on her heels, waiting for Arell to become distracted once more. Training a pet their name often was a waiting game. She sighed. As soon as Arell had turned away Akina called to her. "Arell!" The Tat-Lung hesitated only a second or two before looking over to Akina. "Good Girl Arell!" She praised her Tat-Lung happily. "Good girl." And now to wait untill she became distracted again.

There now, her attention had been drawn to some splashing on the other side of the docks! "Arell!" Akina called to her, watching as her Dynasty Tat-Lung hesitated momentarily before looking over. Akina praised her "Good girl Arell" she tossed her a small stone, which plopped into the water and quickly sunk, sending ripples outward. Arell dove after it, reapearing moments later, looking at Akina with green eyes. Surely there would be more? But sadly no and once more she grew bored with watching the silent, still human and turned her attention to other things, but no sooner had she turned her body then Akina called out. 'Arell!" The Tat-Lung looked over at her and was rewarded with a gentle scale rub and a "Good girl Arell!"

Arell blinked slowly up at her human. A squeal and a splash from not far away drew her attention away from Akina and she peered across the docks. "Arell!" Akina called her, causing Arell to look over. "Good girl Arell!" Akina praised her Tat and smiled. "Excellent indeed. I think you've got it down very well. I think that we should move on to other things however. But what?" she pondered it "I have so much to teach you. So much. Where to start next? Stay? Come? Jump? Dodge?" she sighed and looked at her Tat. "Perhaps we shall stick with the basic's Arell. Come and Stay are up next then."

"Alright then, moving on I think." Akina stood up and stretched out her back muscels. "Arell." she got her Tat's attention. "Come!" She held out a treat and moved away from Arell, along the shore line. Arell stared at Akina, for the human held out a rather shiny stone. Arell obeyed following Akina along the shore for a little ways. "Good girl Arell!" Akina praised her, tossing the stone into the water. Arell dove after it, reappearing moments later, awaiting more of the stones. Akina held out another one and grinned when Arell's eyes sparkled with happiness. "Come!" Akina started to retrace her steps, walking back the way she had come from.

The young tat-lung followed Akina’s hand as the human moved it away, stone glittering in the sunlight. The Tat-lung’s gaze was cool and calculating as she observed the slow movements. ”Come Arell.” Akina’s voice was soft and encouraging. ”Come.” the little gem she held was an excellent motivator to the fish and with a twitch of her long whiskers the Tat-lung gracefully slide forward to investigate the outstretched hand and the goodie it held. ”Good girl.” Akina moved a little further away, and Arell followed swiftly. The young fish’s midnight blue and yellow scales glistened as she moved in the water, following Akina’s slow but sure movements. Akina tossed the stone into the water ”Good girl Arell.” and the Tat-lung dove down to catch it. When Arell resurfaced she flicked her gaze over Akina, taking in the young girls appearance before flicking her tail and submerging herself beneath the rippling water.

Akina waited for a moment before pulling out another small glittering gem and holding it up for the Tat-Lung’s inspection. Then she moved down the shoreline. ”Arell, come.” she raised her voice as the Tat-lung remained submerged and slowly began to follow the glimmering treat.

The fish twirled in the shallows along the shore of the lake. Her fins twitched in the cool water and her golden eyes gleamed in the dim sunlight. It was a good day, gems to eat, sunlight to enjoy and… well the human wasn’t the best part of the day, but she was entertaining. Arell twisted quickly in the shallows, stirring up mud and silt with her large fins. Out of the kennel and in to the place where she could stretch and play. The pond in the kennel was rather cramped with that other… smaller inferior tat-lung. The Lapis. Pah. The Lapis might be her elder, but it hardly knew a thing about the world. It didn’t understand the workings of humans, didn’t care to understand the world. As long as it was fed, and had some company then the fish – for it didn’t deserve the name Tat-lung, was happy to remain in the pond, swimming in circles. The human said something above her, voice distorted by the water and she peaked up, golden eyes squinting.

Arell let loose a barrage of bubbles as she flipped her tail fin and darted into deeper water. The human meant nothing to her at the moment. They had a system worked out. Arell would get several hours to play and explore the lake and the human would wait on the bank for her return. Akina… that was her name… strange human but nice enough. As Arell dove deeper the Fish came to her mind again and she twitched her long whiskers in disgust. That creature had no interest in the finer things in life. Books and conversation… Well to be honest it did try to talk with her, but she ignored it staunchly. For what it wanted to talk about was shiny objects and little tricks it could do with the bubbles in blew under the water. Shiny objects were all well and good, Arell liked them as much as the next Tat-Lung. But bubble tricks? Things for children. And a child, she was not.

The fish that shared her tank never seemed to grow. In some ways, Arell realized with a small start, she pitied it. It would never know the feeling of power that came with growing, the knowledge that one retained grew immensely. She snorted, now was not the time to think of the lesser ones, now was the time to work her brain and explore, release her curiosity. She had explored this lake many times before, but she restrained herself from doing too much in one day and leaving nothing new for the next outing. This time she dove deep, exploring the bottom nearest to where the human had released her. The muddy bottom was dark, with tufts of green spiny grass growing from its bottom. She brushed against the grass, scaring a small school of smaller fish that darted off into the murky gloom. She wondered about the human, if (when she grew) the human would run from her large size and might. She flicked her tail and rose to the surface, staring out at the human girl standing on the shore.

The human girl stood there, and when she saw Arell rise above the surface she shouted in her alien language and waved a stocky appendage in her direction. Shouting a hello, Arell supposed. Perhaps trying to get her to return. Ahhh but not just yet, she had a few things to investigate before she was ready to return to the shore. She dove, scaring another school of small fish. Numbering, perhaps, ten or so. She watched them go with amusement then dove a little further and began to brush her fins against the spiky grass, enjoying the feeling. She rolled in the grass and then swam away from the small patch, flitting to a rock that jutted from the dark lake bottom. She swam around and around the rock, studying it carefully. Patches of green algae grew on its rough surface; there were no distinguishing or interesting marks for her to study so she continued on her way.

It wasn’t much longer before Arell popped up to the surface again, having scoured the bottom of the lake in a ten foot radius from the rock. She had found nothing of interest, which the young Tat-Lung had found infuriatingly disappointing. She flicked her fins and drove herself towards the shallows of the shore. Akina stood there on the bank encouraging her forward with a shiny treat. Some sort of gem that was blue, like her own scales, Arell thought happily. She splashed into the shallows, belly scales grating against small pebbles and murky sand. But the shiny gem that Akina held out to her was worth a little mud marring her lovely blue and yellow belly scales. She grabbed hold of the shiny in her mouth and a thought flitted through her mind. Take it home, save it, show it to the Fish. But no, she was not that cruel and she was too greedy to save it for later. In mere moments the stone was gone and gentle hands were grazing over her scales, a soft voice murmured to her. Akina checking for injuries, just in case. The human seemed satisfied with what she saw and her voice took on a cherry tone.
