A shallow pool, ~Ashe and Night~

[Night]

"Are too!" She giggled. She watched him walk over to the water, talking to himself. "M'kay, that may not be a mirror. But still...." She snorted, a grin showing on her face. It was almost plastered there, nowdays. "And ya know, you cant call yourself beautiful, your a guy. Now handsome is more your word. Unless you want to be all girly?" She teased, her eyes dancing.

Night thought about his words, then nodded, pushing the jacket back off. "That makes sense, I guess....." she admitted. Stupid her, why didn't she think about that? She laughed at herself in her mind. Sometimes she could be so absent minded.

'Your a little wet there....' She heard Ashe. "Really? Thank you. I dont think I would have noticed if you hadn't told me......" She said sarcastically, but smiled anyways. She rubbed her ears, trying to get a bit of the water off the fur. Wow that really was annoying sometimes......

But that didn't keep her from giggling when he yelped. "You okay there, big guy?" she asked, smirking.

Agito heard the man yelp also, snickering under his breath. Humans. Wow, they could be so.....so....well, you get the point. There really wasn't a word for how strange and idiotic people could be. He swam around, his tail swirling around him. Then he popped back up and swam over to her. He really had been mean enough to his poor human, right?

Night eyed Agito suspiciously. She didn't trust his innocent attitude one bit!

[Ashe]

He turned and gaped at her. "I can't be beautiful? Why not?" He flipped his hair back, attempting mimic what he saw girls do a lot. His hair cooperated, but he still failed miserably at looking like a girl. And he knew it. He sighed heavily. "Fine. Hello handsome."

"You're welcome." Ashe stood and bowed, sweeping his hand toward the ground. "I live to help, my dear," Ashe said with a chuckle. The obvious was not always so obvious, was it? No, you needed a genius like him around to point it out!

Then, of course, the painful throbbing finger. He held it up and glowered at it accusingly. "Yes, of course I'm fine. My hand almost got bitten off by Jaws, but I'm fine. I don't need a hand." He sticks out his tongue at her with a smirk, and shakes his finger out, then tests it. Still no blood...that was good. He knelt by the water again and tapped the surface of the water.

Just under the surface, the Kraden were watching him with wide eyes. It had been Zig that had nipped him, and now he felt sorry. He'd thought it was a worm or something! Had he known it was attached to his human... He wouldn't have done it. He inched to the surface to apologize, with Jelly right behind.

[Night]

"You just...cant. Your deffinetly more handsome to be beautiful. No offense, but your a bit on the masculine side to be called such a girly name." She chuckled, finally ringing the water (For the most part) From her ears. She stepped closer, her eyes wandering around trying to find Agito.

He was standing behind her, and since she was so close to the water, oh how he wanted to push her in. But, she already seemed pretty ticked off at him. Better not take a chance. He pushed up behind her, nuzzling her hand kind of. He really didn't know her that much, but she had been a good sport with most of his pranks so far. She must not be a bad sort, right?

And of course, Agito's niceness made Night suspicious. She wanted to belive the creature really was sweet at heart, but my gosh! He did seem a bit on the naughty side most of the time. Alright, all the time.

She smiled. "You dont need a hand? Then how are you going to do training and such? I know I couldn't without both, especially since I honestly dont know how to train water creatures anyways." She smiled sheepishly. "Never really had many, to tell the truth. I'm more partial to cave vulticus myself, and gallors. Wuirns are cool, too, i guess." She shrugged.

[Ashe]

Ashe smiled. She was saying he was good looking, and he liked that. Normally, when people said such things to others, they blushed or got nervous or denied it. Ashe, of course, ate it up. He loved how he was, and enjoyed every minute of it, but tried not to let it inflate his head. Tried. He would have a hard time training a Reppequi if he was the one who couldn't stop prancing.

"Well, there's gotta be a downside to my manliness. The name..." He made a face, then grinned. "You, however, I have yet to find a flaw about." He winked, then turned back to the Kraden as another made a pass at his finger. They either developed the taste for flesh, or hadn't actually learned the lesson. He pulled his fingers back and glared at them. Ungrateful little...

"Water creatures are simple enough... You can tap on the water, or use whistles, or just your voice. And you only need one hand to tap on the water." He smirked to himself, then looked at his injured hand. "Pity I've become attached to this, though..."

The Kraden had tried to nibble at his fingers again. Just lightly, not enough to hurt. But their beaks were sharped than they'd thought. When the hand pulled away, they hurried away from the surface, a little freaked.

[Night]

Night raised her eyebrows at him. "The name? Whatcha mean?" She asked, her teeth flashing once more. Her eyes were taking on the sheen of the night sky, even though it was still day. Thats how it was with her. Sharp points of light, resembling the stars very much, twinkled in the light, reflecting out of the blue sea of her eyes.

"Me? Surely you jest?" She laughed. She had been told she was good looking, yes, but she had always beleived they were kidding. She pushed her hair beind her ear, letting it rest there. Not for long though. Its curly texture made it quickly bounce back to its normal possition, coming to rest just short of her eyes. She was slightly annoyed with it, but she let it be anyways.

"Really? I always thought it would be harder than that." She replied to the water training advice. She had, to tell the truth. It just seems so....complicated....to train things that could easily drown you. Not that she was afraid of water or anything, but still..... And especially Agito, for that matter.

Agito let his head droop. Night was mad at him, he could tell. He hadn't meant to hurt his master, he was just having fun. Maybe he should get to know her better before he did that. That had seemed the case with the human man, who hadn't started messing with her until after they were more aquainted. A possibility, but come on! That would be no fun! He sighed and resigned himself to being nice to his owner. She really did seem the nice sort.

Night giggled as Ashe held up his hand. "Yes, you really shouldn't become attatched to limbs. So easily taken from your possesion!" She laughed. Her tinkling laugh echoed throughout the small place, making her blush. She curled her tail around her ankles and walked to the edge of the water by Ashe. She dipped her hand in the water, too, testing to see how cold it was. Not to bad....

[Ashe]

"That it sounds so girly. My name. So interferes with my super-manly-studness." He shook his head, smiling. "Why would I jest? Joking like that would be mean..." He glanced at her, and let his eyes do a once-over, as if he was trying to prove what he'd just said. He saw her play with her hair and chuckled. Aww, how cute! But he also noticed she didn't protest too much, which was nice. People should take compliments in stride, especially girls, and not deny it all.

"Yep. Really easy. And for the bigger things, it would be easier to have an Amulet of Underwater Travel with you. Just incase they pull you under." Of course, once you got the experience, no creature would dare to try and bring you down. That was the pro level Ashe was aiming for.

Ashe shrugged, looking like he'd been caught. "It's a bad habit. What can I say?" He grinned at her. "Shall we start training?"

The Kraden in the water saw Ashe's face, shimmering thanks to the moving water, and he looked really odd. But almost in the same shape as they were! They found that amusing, and swam in circles to express their glee.

[Night]

Night raised her eyebrows before bursting out laughing. Through her scarce breaths, she told him what she had meant. "Well, first of all, Super-Manly-Studness? It sounds like a comic book hero." She grinned lopsidedly to show she was kidding. "And I was saying that beautiful was to girly for you, not your name, smart one." She added. And she had been. Maybe it had just come out wrong.

She nodded once, kind of to reasure herself he wasn't kidding. "Well....thank you. I...uh...I think. You arn't to bad looking yourself." She smiled, letting the movement krinkle her eyes. Her tail wagged once or twice before laying still again.

Night gulped a little. "Bigger things? Like....er.. what?" She said hessitantly. She really wasn't sure she wanted to get involved with bigger things. She could barely handle Agito, after all. Bigger things on land, she could handle. But what about when you couldn't touch and could barely breathe in the middle of a lake somewhere with a creature that wasn't used to you? She didn't even want to think about it. So okay, maybe deep down Night was afraid of drowning. But not like in a small pond, like this, but in the middle of some ocean somewhere where no one could ever find her.

She smiled at Ashe, her teeth showing brightly. "You and your habits! Talking to inanimate objects, getting attatched to fingers and all that nonsense! What should we do with you!" She chuckled before nodding once more. "Sure. Uh..." She stared at Agito blankly, making sure he wasn't going to push her into the water.

Agito stared back at Night, not blinking. Well, he had a hard time understanding her,yes. She was both a human and a girl, things he could not really relate to or understand. But it was worth a try, yes? He let his tail give a few swishes, trying to wag it like he had seen that vulticus of hers do so many times when they talked.

Night smiled a little, patting Agito lightly on the head.

[Ashe]

"Oh..." Ashe blinked at her. And again. Time to pull the dumb card, and pretend not to get it. Save what little dignity he had left? If there was any left after this encounter. "So, wait. I can't be beautiful?" He sighed heavily. "It's my clothes, isn't it? Well, I'm not dressing up just to be pretty." He gagged a bit. That's right, confuse her. Then he can say he was following all along.... Right?

Ashe shrugged, not able to think of any Freehold pets off the top of his head that were big enough to count and make a difference. So he just added, "Pliathor, for one." There were other Lab creatures, but none in the Freehold yet. He hoped that bigger ones would be found, relatively soon.

He just flashed a grin at her, set on getting some training done with his Kraden. "I'm gonna teach mine to come first... " Though how should he do that? Tapping fingers on the water wouldn't make much of a difference if they grew to be huge... But maybe if he accompanied it by a word...

He pulled out a little baggy of fishfood and meat strips that might interest them. He smirked, ready to go.

[Night]

Night smiled, a sparkling grin. "Yes! That must be it. Your clothes!" She snickered. He wasn't half bad at playing along, but she could tell he hadn't got the name thing. Oh well, might as well not mention it.

She shivered at the thought of pliathor. "I...uh...dont really get much into water stuff. I supose you could say that....well....I just don't do it." She was going to tell him about her fear of drowning, or big water animals, but didn't bother. He would probably just laugh. But even though she had said nothing, she blushed. A light sprinkling of red on her cheeks. Darn it, she just gave everything away, didn't she!

Agito was looking at Night curiously. "I guess I'll start with name. Cant hurt, right?" She said. Agito smiled at her, event though he had no idea what she was saying. Turning to him, she offered him a treat. He snatched it up. That was just to let him know that they were good, so he was more willing to work for them. Then she quietly waited for him to turn towards something else.

Agito ate the treat greatfully. He had been getting a bit hungry, after all. After staring at her for a few moments, and, realizing she wasn't going to give him another any time soon, he watched the kraden again. If he jumped in now, chased them or something, would the man they seemed to belong to get mad? Probably....hmmmm.

[Ashe]

Ashe glanced at her, stunned that she didn't like the water creatures so much. "But you have a Water Verai..." He said this with a questioning tone to his voice. Sure, the Verai wasn't aquatic or anything, but it was still a water creature... And hers seemed a little bigger now that he was up closer to it. Or had it hit a growth spurt while they were out here? He knew those spurts hit humans over night, and wouldn't put it past the animals either...

"Sounds good to me!" Ashe said, smiling. Good luck!" He turned back to the water, and tapped his fingers on the surface again, careful to watch the little Kraden so they wouldn't take his fingers off. He saw them coming closer to him, but they were hovering just out of reach, kicking up water with their little tentacles to stay in place. It seemed impossible to get them to come any closer than this...

He'd have to think on it a while, maybe jump in with them? He didn't have anything against going for a little swim. The only issue would be if Night had a problem with him taking his shirt off, since they'd just met. But she was cute enough when she blushed...

((No, but I'm going to let Night try to train him. Should be interesting. *Shrug* I'm weird like that, sorry. xDD))

Night looked trapped. "Agito needed a home. I....well, Have a soft spot for animals in need. Or people, for that matter." She let her eyes wander from his face, a slight blush once more coloring her face. "And I supose you could say I've had a bad...er..experiance. A bad experiance with water." She had to search for the right word for a moment there. But it was true enough. Though if you were going off experiance, she should also be afraid of several other things.

Agito suddenly felt.....like Night was utterly stupid for trying to make him obey in any way. Well, frankly, she hadn't spent much time with him. And he didn't really have any bond to the humanish at all. What was his inclination to work for her? There was none. He spent all of about ten seconds pondering this, before he decided that he would not obey a word that she said.

Night looked down at her clothes, indeed wondering how this was going to work. She didn't really want to get her clothes soaked, but then again, Ashe was here. That would be a bit awkward. You know, not being a guy and having that privledge in all. While she was thinking this, she kicked her shoes off. Well, she was allowed to do that without seeming indecent, right?

[Ashe]

Ashe smiled. That was nice, to have tried to help something in need, and give it a place to belong... He did that on occasion as well, with offspring he tended to find at some street corner, being sold. He glanced over at Agito, wondering if he had any idea of what Night had tried to do for him. "Oh? A bad experience? What happened?" Of course, if she didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't try to force it on her..

He chuckled when the shoes finally came off. Wouldn't be good to get those wet, after all. "You're coming in, then?" Ashe asked, slipping his shirt off. Hey, she was stripping hardcore with those shoes, he had to catch up! But he was ready to wade, at the very least, getting closer to the Kraden that didnt' seem to be too willing to come closer to him.

Ziggy and Jelly watched with their wide eyes from under the surface. They were amazed! First the girl kicked off her own FEET and now the guy was shedding his skin! How did they do that, and how could they stand it? The Kraden couldn't look away from the distorted sight, which meant Ashe could catch them easily enough.

[Night]

"Well, its just....my parents tried to drown me once. I havn't been too fond of water since then..." Her voice trailed, but she tried to keep smiling all the same. It was too good a day to be ruined by the past, after all.

Nights eyes might have wandered a little when Ashe's shirt came off, but quickly snapped back in her head. It wasn't polite to stare, no matter what. She grudgingly pulled her t-shirt over her head, leaving a blue undershirt and her shorts. Good enough, she suposed. SHe didn't even usually take that much off. Her already pretty tan skin was growing darker in the sun, it seemed. It felt good on her bare shoulders.

Pulling her hair of of the pony-tail holder it was usually in, she let it fall losely to her shoulders. That was a bit better. She followed Agito to the waterside, where he seemed to have wandered while she was getting ready to go swimming.

Agito glared at her. What was she thinking, anyways? Was she planning to follow him in? What the hell? That wasn't very good manors, following people. Well, all the more reason not to listen to her. Come to think, she wasn't even doing anything for him. Why should he even live with her? All these questions raced around his mind as he dove into the water, pondering what to do. Well, maybe that was it. Maybe he WOULDN'T live with her anymore. After all, she was just a stupid human.

Night hessitated at the edge of the water, sitting down on the grass and just letting her feet dangle in. "Yeah, I'm coming it. I guess..." She answered his question.

[Ashe]

"Your parents...WHAT?" He turned, aghast. Whose parents would do such a thing? "But...Why??" He couldn't keep the shock out of his voice. What was the point of having a kid, to drown her? He shook his head. That was insane... And so sad...

"I promise not to try and drown you..." he murmured, smiling meekly. He understood her not wanting to get too involved with the water now, but jokes still weren't appropriate. They really weren't. He'd try not to make them, but jokes were a way of lightening the mood, and he would rather lighten the mood than have the somber attitude follow the rest of their day...

It was then he noticed Agito. He didn't look too happy about something... Frowning, Ashe added, "Dunno about him though..."

He trailed off when he noticed that she was stripping. Well, not much, but it was still something, and meant she was comfortable enough to do so. Which was good, as far as he was concerned. Unless she did that sort of thing around everyone... But hey, that wouldn't be bad either. He grinned at her, trying to make her blush by showing he looked. She was cute when she blushed.

Feeling ignored, and still a little weirded out, the Kraden swam backward a little bit, away from the insane people. Shedding skins left and right! That was crazy! They'd like to keep their skins, thanks! That meant staying away from the humans, because the humans probably wanted to steal theirs next!

"Yeah, they tried to drown me." She nodded. Then she wiggled her ears and tail. "Lets just say that where I'm from, these arn't exactly normal features. And everyone there wasn't to fond of me because of it." A grin split her face. She was doing that pertend not to care thing again.

"Well, thats good! I wouldn't want you to drown me!" She laughed. She knew he was joking, and it was fine by her.

Following his gaze, Night turned to Agito. He didn't look happy, did he? "Dunno whats gotten into him....he usually is a pretty happy thing..." Her voice trailed, probably off into some train of thought passing through her mind. That happened alot, after a while.

She saw him looking at her, and tried really hard not to blush. Lets just say it didn't work very well. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and she turned her head like she hadn't seen him. Of course, he would know she had because she was blushing. But it's not like she was thinking that far into the future.

Agito watched the humans, a look that clearly said he didn't trust them one bit plastered on his face. Oh well, it didn't matter. He would just leave! Only thing was, though, he couldn't think of a good time. Maybe just after they got in the water? Then he would have more time to run before they caught him. If they caught him. He doubted they would, though. After all, they were JUST humans.
