Ready to start a garden?

Gardens are unique in that they give you an area to keep your garden pets (like a kennel), and they give you a place to explore and care for your plants and plantlike creatures.

The gardens, as well as the items and creatures available, change with the passing seasons. The flowers found in spring can't grow in the harsher winter, after all!

Don't have a gardens creature yet? Well, you could always adopt a free one from the labs, or buy a special one from Herbologist's Delight. You may also get some items to help your gardens creatures over at Nature's Bounty.

Starting a Garden

To start a garden, first you have to fill it with garden pets! Here's a list of garden pets (also called 'plant creatures') for your convenience.

QUOTE
Nyssa
Kinoko
Sapling Spriteling
King of the Evergreen

Pachee
Lotine
Lola

Bellaroxi/Bellafaux
Leaf-Scatter
Mussimander
Dragon Oak
Succulent Worm
Whiptail Vine-Snatcher
Branchaeopter
Skutirut

Treat Gourd
Trick Serpent
Kiseiseibutsu

Crossbreeds (containing the above)

Lotine are solitary creatures, therefore only one Lotine may live in your garden at a time. Though you may have as many of the smaller Lola as you like.

Other than the one Lotine, you may keep as many of these kinds of pets as you like in your first post. Though, be careful not to have so many you can't take care of them all! You may also keep up to 2 other creatures in your garden as well.

In addition to your garden pets, you will need to list the following information in your fist post so the staff can properly assess any bonuses you may get. Please make this information easy to find, and update it frequently as changes occur.

QUOTE
A link to your character's profile.
The images of all of the items you have with you.
The stats (including levels and loyalty) of the pet you are currently playing with, if any.

Working in the Garden

Now that you have a garden set up, you're going to want to explore and work in it, right? This part is pretty easy, all you have to do is roleplay! When something interesting happens, a staff member will let you know.

If you're playing with a plant creature in the gardens, you must include the image at the top of the first post you start playing with that particular creature. If you change the creature you're playing with, add the image of the new creature (or both the new and old creature if you're playing with both) to the top of the post where it is introduced. Make sure the stats including levels and loyalty for this creature are visible in the first post.

To be a better gardener, you might want to get some gardening skills. Some will help you pick the delicate berries off your pets or prevent you from getting poisoned by dangerous pets, and others will help you find fruits, veggies, and flowers in the gardens.

Since the Gardens are an 'Advanced' area, Pets gain levels normally (1 per 5 posts) and characters gain levels at a slowed rate (1 per 20 posts).

You may be in only one gardens thread at a time. If you wish to join someone else, you must leave your own thread to visit theirs.

Creature Specific Harvests

To harvest a creature, all you have to do is roleplay with it. Staff will let you know when your harvest is successful in the same way that they let you know when you've found something interesting.

Creatures that can be harvested are only ďin seasonĒ for a month out of the year. Here's a list of creatures that can be harvested each month.

QUOTE
January - Mussimander
March - Sapline Spriteling
June - Fluttering Dragonoak
July - Kiseiseibutsu
September - Whiptail Vinesnatcher; Branchaeopter
October -Trick Serpent; Skutirut
November - Succulent Worm; Leaf Scatter
December - King of Evergreen

What about Pachee and Lotine? How are they harvested? Well, why not check out the Pachee and Lotine breeding tutorials?
