It's Time~, Personality testing that actually works!

I think it is time to introduce you all to the Enneagram.

I'm going to give you all some advice- don't take the test, just read through the types, and if you know yourself and are honest with yourself, you will know what you are.

If you don't know yourself, take the test honestly.

Anywho- this might help people around here, it's a really REALLY REALLY accurate personality typing thing. It will help you understand others, and it's really neat to see yourself in it.


If you guys want to know- I'm a FOUR. A four with a five wing to be exact. I fit it to the T, precisely, no differences from the norm for a Four-Five. When you have a wing- that means that you take part of your personality from your wing. Wings are mostly one of the two types on either side of your normal (1's would have either a 2 or a 9 wing. 7's would have either an 8 or a 6.) Meaning, I am mostly a Four (artistic, can be silently dramatic, doesn't like being misunderstood, very introverted- etc.), but will show the main five traits (the intellectual, over analyzing, and withdrawn stuff mostly).

So what are you guys? (Also, read up on ALL the types, it will help you know what you are/understand others.)

I'm a 6. From the loyalty to the fear of abandonment, that's me. xD But I find this to be accurate only surrounding weaknesses as opposed to a full personality thing. I haven't read through them all yet, but by focusing only on the downsides of being a loyalist, my page makes it seem like I'm pretty pathetic and wimpy but that's not all I am. ***
I like reading new things that "click" and make me go "THAT IS SO ME" but everything here I've already self-meditated on. Which just means, it is accurate, eh?

I don't need to take the test, none of the others fit me like this one. but I don't see anywhere to take it where it doesn't cost $10.

*** After reading the edit about the wings, I'm a 6 with a 7 wing.

Also, my little bro is a six (a six five we figure, but a six none-the-less).

I thought for a moment Two fit pretty well, but then... Nine. Yep. Nine.

I may have considered myself a Two more strongly in my younger years, but after growing emotionally and spiritually as I have, I can see myself much better now, and Two just doesn't quite fit.

I feel like Jim and I are both differently developed versions of this 'Nine' type. It's fairly interesting to think on.

I'm a two. By far, a two.

Basic Fear: Of being unwanted, unworthy of being loved
Basic Desire: To feel loved

^ Hits the nail on the head big time.

I'm not a huge huge fan of Enneagram, and because of that I haven't really looked much at it recently, but last time I tried to type myself I ended up with 6w7. From what I recall of it, it still fits as well as anything.

Which is why I suggest just looking at them and thinking about it.

The test really isn't that great- I got a score of 5 on types 5, 6, and 4- then a score of 4 on types 1 and 9 when I took it.

It's not accurate really, and must be know themselves well enough to be able to tell. According to the test, your type is usually one of your top three- though this works 'a lot of the time', a person's wing can get in the way of telling the type in that manner (and if you are a 2-3, I can DEFINITELY see you getting the 4-5-6 numbers.

That test is not very accurate. XD

Twos can get a high score on 'type six' because they need to be loved/look like they are loving people, which can cause them to have a slight problem with their self esteem (if they aren't feeling loved/being seen as being loving, they feel awful about themselves). A two can get a high score on four because they are both in the 'feeling' triad. I can see a two with either wing getting a bit of five- because two-ones can feel like and be very intellectual people- the biggest difference is the critical attitude of the one. Two-threes are more outgoing that fives though...

But yeah- in short, Test =/= accurate.

^ Hahaha, you make it sound like just because you fit one thing okay you can't fit another one better. If that was the case Hogwarts sorting wouldn't work at all. :P Just because I'm, I dunno, chivalrous, self-preserving, loyal, and intelligent doesn't mean I'm ALL THE HOUSES. My loyalty and other such Hufflepuff traits are in larger quantities than my Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw traits, and therefore I am a Hufflepuff.

Everyone's personality may not be molded and decidable things, but usually they are describable things. :T Enneagram isn't about what motivations you HAVE-- everybody has multiple motivations-- it's about what your PRIMARY motivation is. As a 6, my primary motivation is fear. Doesn't mean I don't also have the motivation to be unique (4), be entertained (7), be in control of situations (8), be in a peaceful environment (9), etc.

The free test really sucks in comparison to the full one. The site itself kinda says that. Don't read into it too deeply.

There's also a chance that if you are not sure which area you fall into, it is because you're not entirely sure who you are yet, which is perfectly fine. Most of us here are still young and discovering ourselves.

I scored high on 6 and 9, which I expected. I got exactly 0 points for 8, and found that amusingly fitting.

I guess I'm a four then.
