The evening was calm and the was painted the warm hues of a sunset. Here and there, street lights began to flicker on as the sky grew dimmer. Somewhere, a slow and sleepy melody drifted through the air, but where from? Not from any of the shops. The melody was drifting from the center of them all. It was a the sound of a violin, and it was being played by a man standing next to the fountain. The spouts of water dancing behind him as he struck his instrument with loving care.
Seth had come to the fountain earlier today to cool down and clear his thought of some things. He needed to get to work on some things, but where to even start was a problem. Playing his instrument was calming him down and providing those who passed by with a little musical amusement. He came with a companions once more. This time, he came Amund, his glittering, golden winged Hara.
Amund was flitting about by the fountain. His mind was caught up, mesmerized by the columns of water as they shot up and fell. He was sitting on the edge with his feet dangling a foot above the water. Amund was curious as to how something so fluid could take shape the way it was. The only time he had really ever seen water keep a long cylinder shape was when it was in a clear cup, but there wasn't any glass holding these up, where there?

Hope sighed as he walked slowly down the street. He still wasn’t able to face the music and go home. His ears laid back against his head and his tail lay limp against his legs and he took step after step. He was going to need to either go home, or buy some new clothes soon. The ones he had kept at his kennel were a bit too small for him since his growth spurting. Mirror, Hope’s custom made Salaves hissed calmly into the males long ears before saying ‘Hope’. “Sorry Mirror. I keep sighing don’t I?” Hope murmured as he petted the creatures head which was on his shoulder as the Salaves had wound himself around the male mammalians body to go with him. Makiku, a blue furred Lerrel scurried around Hope’s legs for a moment before grabbing onto his left one to hitch a ride. Even though Hope didn’t want to be carrying both a large Salaves and a lump of a Lerrel he didn’t say anything. Infact the blue creatures constant chitters comforted the mammalians fretting mind slightly. “Sunset” Hope said stopping at looking up at the sky. The hues the painted the sky reminded him of many things, which made him look away with yet another sigh. He then heard something he recognised. Music, violin music to be exact. Hope’s tall ears stood up once more to catch the sound. Hope slowly turned and saw, that not more than 15 meters away next to the public fountain was Seth, playing his violin. Hope twitched slightly as he thought about maybe just continuing on and pretending he didn’t see him. It was too late though, because Makiku had leapt from his legs and had run over to Seth. Makiku then sat at the green haired male’s feet and chattered at him loudly. Hope could only look on with a slightly fearful look on his face, his tail curled around his knees.

The sudden scampering and chattering startled Amund so that he leaped from his place at the inside edge of the fountain to hide, and almost fell in. His tiny little hands handing onto the edge while his feet dipped in the water. He pulled himself up enough to see how Seth would handle the situation and to see if the creature was friendly.
Seth's sound suddenly came to an abrupt end as something had wandered up to his feet and began making a ruckus. Seth's eyes were mostly closed as he had played, but thanks to a friend, Seth was familiar with what the sound a chittering lerrel sounded like, and could tell that was what was at his feet before he even stopped. He opened his eyes and looked down, expecting to see a black lerrel or some common breed, but found a different and familiar site. Seth lowered his instrument from his shoulder and knelt down to the lerrel, a worn smirk playing at the edge of his lips. "Why, Hello Makiku. I'd recognize you anywhere buddy. How have you been?" Seth placed his bow in his other hand and gently scratched behind Makiku's ears. Seth's tired eyes looked up from his lerrel friend and glanced around for another familiar face, hoping to spot them along. His tires eyes finally fell upon Hope. Seth didn't say much, but that weak smirk played at his lips still as mildly greeted, "Hey."

Hope held his breath as Seth came forward. He hoped that this wasn’t going to be a fist to some part of his body. When he felt arms around him he let out a sigh, and relaxed slightly against his brother, hugging him back happily. Mirror wasn’t so happy about the hug though, he hissed and said Hope once again but he felt to the ground the a thud. “Hush Mirror” Hope said, stepping away from his brother. Now the Hope was more relaxed, his tall ears stood straight up on his head like beacons, and his tail thumped alittle against the back of his legs.
“Not so much searching but more like returning” Hope murmured his he bent over to pick Makiku up because the Lerrel was chittering at his feet once again. Hope scratched Makiku under his chin the way he liked it before he looked back at Seth. “I missed you too, Brother” He said shuffling his feet slightly because Mirror was slithering over them. Mirror continued on his path over to Seth. He then crawled up the man’s legs and back, his little wing claws gripping a little at the man’s clothing. Finally he had his head up on Seth’s shoulder, but he wasn’t curled around the man though.

"Well, I'm glad you returned here." Seth smiled at Hope. He could feel Mirror climbing his way up Seth, and it honestly felt a little weird. When Mirror finally made his way up and rested his chin on Seth, Seth reached up and gave it a caring scratch. "Nice to see you too Mirror. I'm sorry, did I knock you from your place?"
Back at the fountain, Amund was having trouble climbing back up on the ledge of the fountain. His wings were getting wet and weighing down, and it was pulling him down. All his body was slowly getting wet as water splashed about him. Last thing Amund wanted to do was go for a swim, especially since he didn't know how. He continued to scramble, his arms being the only thing s that could possible pull him up since the edge hovered over the water, there was no wall Amund could kick off of. As his final attempt to save himself, Amund cried out, but it was too late as he felt his hands give way and the air rush pass as he plashed into the water below.
Seth turned around as he heard Amund somewhere by the fountain and a sudden splash. "Shoot. 'Scuse me a sec Hope....." Seth excused him and quickly made his way back to the fountain with Mirror still attached. He leaned over and found Amund flailing under the water and quickly reached down, scooping the frantic Hara from it. Amund clung to Seth hand, gasping for air when he saw yet another fright of another pair of eyes looking at him from over Seth's shoulder.

"Water?" Seth repeated the word he heard Mirror hiss. "Yes, he fell in the water."
Even though Amund was panicking over the other creature being so close, he took a mental note that the creature said a word the human understood. That creature apparently knew their language. He pushed his back against Seth's hand, trying to get back as far as he could from the creature while pointing at it and making a sound. "Ah?" Pointing was the only thing Amund knew how to do from being around Sakiko so long. The little Hara would always point at things to get Seth's attention, and somehow, through other sounds she made, he would respond. Amund was going to try this method in hopes Seth would take him away from the other creature.
"Um...Mirror...could you...Hope, could you pull Mirror off me? This little one is a Hara, and his name is Amund. He gets quite skittish around anything larger than him. With Mirror on me, it seems to be scaring him...." Seth carefully set Amund back down on the fountain edge and went to his bag that was leaning against the fountain wall. He pulled out a hand towel and a juice box. Seth then offered the juice box to Hope, "If you give this to him, he'll warm up to you quicker. He loves juice. You will find, when you head home, that he's not the only new Hara to take up residence with me."

"Its fine. I'm sure Mirror won't try to eat him. It's just, this guy is the most skittish of them all, but he'd still accidentally touch the flame of a candle out of curiosity. He;ll calm down once he realizes no one here is going to hurt him." Seth tried to explain as he sat down on the ground and handed the towel to Amund.
Amund scooted around as people and creatures moved around him, uneasy with all the new faces. He snatched the towel away from Seth, like he could take care of himself and began to dry his wings and hair first. He suddenly stopped and eyed the box in Hope's hand, knowing it held a sweet liquid he loved. Cautiously, Amund lifted his hand and pointed to the box. He wanted this other being to put the box down, but knew of no sound that he could make that could rely that message. So, he was just forced to point and hope whatever reaction that would cause would benefit him in getting the juice.
While Seth watched Amund's reactions to Hope, he invited the other two back over by tapping on his his lap. "Come here you two. Just cause he's scared, doesn't mean I won't give you attention." Seth paused a second before answering Hope with a bit of a mischievous smirk and a smart alack remark, "Well, when a momma Hara and a daddy Hara really love each other, they make a little flower and......" He stopped without saying any more, but just grinned up at his brother. "I'm kidding. I just find them as flowers and take care of them. Since I had Sakiko before, I know what they look like."

"Woah....your going to....I guess I'm locked into this aren't I?" Seth sighed, commenting aloud as Makiku began to lean into his scratches. "Heaven forbid I stop." He continued on Joking.
Amund watched carefully as Hope moved away, then lowered himself down. This other being seemed to be talking to him, but he wasn't sure. He hadn't used the word Seth called him by, that name, Amund. With Hope down a little closer, Amund studied more of Hope's features. This beings face was different in structure compared to the being he was always with, Seth. This one had more fur on him. Not to mention his ears were different. This beings ears looked closer to his own than Seth's. Amund's hand moved up to his own ears as he looked at Hope's, feeling them since he didn't have a mirror to compare looks with.
"Amund?" Seth called to the little Hara. Amund began to turn slowly, looking at Hope once more time before looking back to Seth. "Amund. This is Hope, Makiku, and Mirror." Seth tried to explain, pointing to each one of them as he said their name. The little Hara only tilted his head a little, not understanding that these were their names. Seth tried once more, but added two familiar words to the mix, "Hope, Makiku, Mirror, Seth, Amund." This time, he pointed to Amund and himself when the he came to there names. "Eventually, he'll understand things have names and he'll understand what words mean what. First step in teaching him to speak is to understand."
