Trick looked around the Training yard, quite unsure about it all. He glanced down at the blob, supposedly a Mimic, in his arms. He had, affectionately, named it ‘Mr. Blobby’. Though he heard Akina had called it ‘The Blob’ so... really there wasn’t much of a change, right? He shifted and looked to the baby Auqido next to him, sniffing about excitedly. She was an offspring of Zip and Quiso. Zip was gone, Akina had taken her with her, since they were bonded so well. Trick frowned, ears flicking as he sat down where he was standing. The Auqido looked up to him, ears twitching, tail wiggling. He glanced at said tail, unsure. How could that be a tail? How could you call that a tail? He glanced at his own, furry red tail and grinned a toothy grin. Aw, whatever. He reached out, hesitancy, to pet the small Auqido and she closed her eyes happily. ”Zisa.” he told her. ”That’s your name apparently. It’s a good name, Zisa.” he tested the name out on his tongue and nodded. Yes, it was a good name. Akina had chosen wisely.

When he had reached for Zisa he had shifted Mr. Blobby to his other arm. The blob shifted slightly as it was moved but no sound came from the small creature. Trick briefly wondered what sort of animal it was, or would be when it grew.

Trick shook his head and returned to the task at hand. His first shot at training something... ”Um... Zisa!” he tried again, gaining her attention quite quickly, though probably it was because of his voice. But still, he figured, she had looked at him, acknowledged him so he should praise her. Right? So that’s what he did. He reached out to the Auqido and scratched at her ears. ”Good girl Zisa!” he praised her gently. She leaned into his hand happily and he couldn’t stop a small smile from appearing, revealing pointed fangs. She tilted her head at him, tongue lolling slightly and ears perking as she stared at him. ”Zisa is such a good girl! Yes, she is!” he leaned forward to get right up to her nose and moved his hand to scratch right under her chin with one claw. ”Haha. You’re just too cute.” He pulled back from the happy Auqdio. She really was cute.

The Mimic under his arm moved again, as though wanting to roll away and Trick shifted his hold on the creature. He... really didn’t want it running off... No... Not running, rolling off.

[Trick]

”Ok. Zisa!” Trick called once more to the small creature and she looked over to him, head tilting to the left. A nod came from the young man ”Good girl Zisa!” he sounded excited, could she really be learning her name this easily? He reached out to her, scratching at her ears and chin while she made happy sounds of contentment. His eyes were bright. He didn’t think that he would enjoy this training thing but it seemed to be turning out all right. Oh sure, he had done well with animals, seeming to get along with all of the odd sorts, but he’d never trained before. It was a new experience that seemed to be turning out quite fun. Though, he realized, as he moved on to harder tricks and other creatures that were more ornery or stubborn the fun factor would diminish slowly.

Another movement from the blob and his eyes turned down to the small creature. He wondered when it would grow. Soon, hopefully, then he wouldn’t have to carry it around so much. Although if it grew he’d have to figure out how to keep it close without letting it run off.

Zisa was moving around again, which caused Trick’s attention to be diverted from his musings. Right. Training. He still wasn’t done yet. He cleared his throat. ”Zisa!” he called to her and she flicked her ears, ignoring him at first but he called again and she finally looked up to him, ears perked and eyes wide and alert. Trick grinned, tail twitching ever so slightly. Good... ”Good girl Zisa!” he praised her. But then that nagging suspicion at the back of his mind. It... couldn’t be this easy could it? No... maybe she was just responding to whatever he said? Would she respond to anything? If so he would have to try a different method of training. ”Hey.” he spoke to Zisa in the same tone of voice he had used to speak her name. Her ears twitched up and she looked over to him. Trick hunched slightly in defeat and his ears seemed to droop when he realized what that meant. She wasn’t learning her name! She was just responding to anything he said! He heaved a sigh and moved the Mimic from one arm to the next then he looked to it. Mr. Blobby. A grin spread over his face. Though really. The little one needed a name. And besides! Who was he to say that this... Mimic was a boy and not a girl?

Zisa yipped slightly, drawing Trick from his thoughts. He flicked his ears at her and turned his eyes to her as well. She was wiggling her tail. Well... her whole body was wiggling as she watched a butterfly flitted by. ”Zisa!” he called to her and she hesitated, ears perked forward as she watched the butterfly. ”Zisa!” She turned her eyes away from the butterfly and looked to Trick. She took a step forward, head tilting. He... had said something... He grinned. ’Good girl Zisa. We’ll teach you yet eh?” He reached out rubbing her cheek gently. Her tongue lolled slightly and when he dropped his hand back into his lap she had turned, looking about eagerly for that butterfly. And... Ah! There it was!!

The Mimic shifted again, rolling along is arm slowly. His eyes darted to it, that had tickled. He shifted the Mimic to his lap and scratched at his arm to get rid of the tickling sensation. ”Ah... You can’t just sit around my friend... What am I to do with you?” he frowned. There wasn’t much he could do with the blob, until it grew he was stuck with just holding it.

His eyes returned to the baby Auqido, who was starting to wander off again, bouncing after the butterfly. He couldn’t help it; he let out a bark of laughter. ”Hey!” She turned to him, ears perked and he sighed, laughter dying down. Well... she still hadn’t learned her name... But his call of ‘hey’ had caused her to lose interest in the butterfly and dart over to him, peering at the blob in his lap. She sniffed at it and in response Mr. Blobby shifted. Trick sighed, grabbing up the Mimic. ”No Zisa.” he said sternly and her ears flicked back at the tone of his voice. But in another moment the fox boy had set the Mimic down beside him and leaned forward, reaching out to Zisa. ’It’s ok Zisa. But you need to learn what ‘no’ means as well as your name. I didn’t mean to make you afraid!” he scratched her ears and leaned back, dropping his hand as he did so. She blinked up at him before moving her head up and giving his hand a lick before he dropped it to his side. He smiled at that and chuckled.

Trick straightened up and stretched his arms before returning his attention to Zisa. ”Hey!” he called. And Zisa responded to his voice, jumping back over to him and into his lap, tongue searching for his face to give him a lick. ”Ah! No no!” he pushed her down with a laugh. ”No Zisa, stay down!” He told her, holding out a finger and wiggling it. ”Stay down ok?” but there was a hint of a smile in his voice. ”You!” he said quickly, calling to her. She peered at him, tilting her head back to look at him. He ignored her. She looked confused. The last times he had called and she had responded he had paid attention to her! What... was happening? Her ears drooped slightly and she seemed to slump into a sitting position. Trick felt a pang of guilt ”Zisa!” he called and she glanced at him, hopeful, he had called her? ”Ah! Good girl Zisa! Good girl!” He reached out one hand to scratch her ears and his other arm snapped out to stop the Mimic from rolling farther away from him.

He shifted the Mimic closer to his leg and glanced down once before returning his attention to Zisa. ”Good girl Zisa!” He praised her again before dropping his hand and waiting for her to look away from him. When she finally did he called to her. ”Hey you!” She flicked her ears and glanced at him, acknowledging him. And he ignored her. She twitched her ears and drooped slightly He chewed on his lip and called her again. ”Zisa!” She looked up to him and he praised her, reaching out to scratch at he ears. She looked rather happy at the attention and she leaned into his hand again. He dropped his hand and waited once more. Mr. Blobby shifted and started rolling again. Trick reached out, taking hold of the Mimic and shifting him closer again with a small frown. Ah well, at least the Mimic was easy to catch, right?

”You!” he called to Zisa and she flicked her ears, glancing over at him before hesitating and making eye contact. Trick ignored her once more, breaking eye contact until she looked away, ears drooping once more. ”Zisa!” she hesitated, then looked over at him, ears perking up ever so slightly.

”Good girl Zisa!” he praised her gently, reaching out once more to scratch at her ears. She seemed to enjoy the attention. He kept a hand near the blob to stop it from rolling off again; it had only shifted slightly since the last time he had checked up on it. His attention returned to Zisa, sniffing about at the grass. Perhaps she was hungry? His ears flicked forward as he watched her. ”Hey, you there.” he called to her and she paused in her sniffing, eyes flicking up to him, awknowledging that he had spoken. But… Her eye contact didn’t hold long. He nodded, good. Maybe she was getting it down now? ”Hey you!” She paused again, eyes flickering to him before going back to her business. ”Zisa!” She flicked her ears and lifted her head to look at him, eyes bright. He grinned. ”Good girl Zisa!” he praised her happily, reaching out to scratch her chin. Well… that was that. It seemed she had learned her name from anything else he said to her.
The blob shifted again, drawing Zisa’s attention to it. Her ears perked up and she stared intently at the Mimic.

Trick watched them both carefully. Zisa inched forward, curious about the Mimic which sat in front of her. Then she reached out a paw to tap it, push it around and Trick moved his hand to block her. ”No Zisa!” his voice was soft but stern, commanding her attention and she looked to him, surprised at his reaction. Then her ears flicked back, he had sounded angry. She shuffled back a few steps and sat there, confused. He… he had sounded angry… ”Good girl.” And now… pleased?

The Mimic shifted again and Zisa looked to it once more, curious. She hadn’t got the chance to touch it yet. Roll it around and play with it! It looked like a wondrous play thing. She stood and inched over again, focus solely on the Mimic. She raised a paw to bring it down on the clay object but was brought to a jarring stop when Trick spoke. ”No Zisa! No.” He sounded angry again and she backed off. ”Good girl! Excellent. You’ll learn it soon enough.” and then Trick frowned. Teaching ‘no’ would be harder then he had thought. He would have to be careful to not confuse the poor girl with his ‘No!’ and then ‘good girl!’.

[Trick]

Trick waited again. This training was turning out to be mainly a waiting game. Wait for her to do something bad then reprimand her… he felt bad about it, she was just a baby after all, but if she didn’t learn now she probably never would. It was best to teach her when she was young. The Mimic shifted again, moving farther away from Trick, inching it’s way across the grass. Zisa swung her head around to stare at it and moved forward again. Maybe… if she couldn’t paw at it she could bite it! With that thought the young Auqido leapt forward and opened her mouth. Trick was frantic now ’No! No! Zisa!” he said moving to cut her off, but he didn’t have to, she had stopped mid step, looking confused. He sounded angry again, and worried. And he seemed pleased when she backed off after he told her this ‘no’… Her ears flicked back and forth as she pondered this oddity. Zisa looked up at Trick and then at the Blob and then back to Trick.

But the Mimic shifted again, once more drawing her attention. Though this time she hesitated before deciding to go after the Mimic. She moved forward, bending to snap it up in her jaws when Trick stopped her. ”No!” she hesitated, ears flattening. So… it was bad? It was bad that she was doing this? And… she should stop… He seemed pleased when she stopped doing something after he said that so… She backed off slowly and looked to him. ”Good girl Zisa.” he spoke softly with a nod and Zisa perked up a bit. So… this ‘no’ meant she was supposed to stop what she was doing. She glanced at the Mimic, which had moved again. It was sooo tempting to go after it again. It really did look like a fun plaything. She took a step closer and raised her paw to bat it away so she could chase after it. ”No!” And she stopped in her tracks, paw raised and poised to smack the Mimic around. She lowered the paw, looking up to Trick. So… what was she to play with then? If she couldn’t play with the Mimic what should she play with? She looked sadly at the little creature in front of her and sat down, ears drooping ever so slightly.

Trick smiled slightly and patted his knee, inviting the Auqido over to him. She perked up considerably, bouncing over to the young man and into his lap. He winced as her hooves trod on his crossed legs. ”Ah… hooves are sharp…” he muttered with a small laugh. He reached out and wrapped up Zisa in a quick hug before releasing her. ”You’re a good girl. And you learn quick! Now I have do figure out what to teach you next!” Really… what should he teach her. She knew her name and ‘no’. So… what would be next? He thought about this quickly as he scratched her neck and back. Then his legs became tingly and he heaved a sigh. She was a great weight on his legs. ”Move.” he told her, giving her a slight push so she’d get off his legs. She stayed put, resisting his pushing. A frown crossed his face and he shifted. ”Move you! You’re putting my legs to sleep!’ he informed her, eyes laughing, though his face had turned stern. ”Move!” he pushed her. Oh! His ears perked. Hey! Teach her to move out of the way when he needed her too. That was a good place to start. He glanced down at the Mimic as he wrestled with Zisa. It was still just sitting there, not doing anything except moving every now and then and inching forward and away from Trick.

[Trick]

Once Trick had managed to push Zisa off his lap and stand up he stretched. ”Ah… You weigh a lot.” he groaned, stretching his legs and testing them out. The prickling and tingling sensation raveled up and down his legs as he walked and he couldn’t help but wince. It really felt uncomfortable. He made a mental note to never invite the Auqido into his lap again, unless he was sitting in a chair or on a couch. But never when he was sitting crosslegged. He shook out his legs quickly and moved over to Zisa. Time to continue the training for ‘move’. Though he had no clue how to go about it. He had no treats, he hadn’t thought about bringing them along… And how to go about getting her to understand what it ment? He shifted his gaze to the Mimic, it couldn’t move to fast but he’d have to keep an eye on the little thing. Then he had returned his attention to Zisa, moving towards her. ”Move!” He told her, as he came up beside her and nudged her gently with his knee. She stumbled away from him and he grew worried. Had he nudged her that hard? But no, she just hadn’t been expecting him to nudge her. He had surprised her was all. He heaved a sigh.
