Splish Splash, Currently Training: Espe

[Speckle]

Where did this pond pop up from? Speckle had just been exploring the surrounding ares of DWF, when suddenly she'd stumbled across a cute little pond. It'd be the perfect place to train any water creatures, like her newly hatched Kraden! Excitedly, she ran in the direction of the keeps, returning several minutes later with a fishbowl in hands.



"C'mon Espe, aren't you excited?" she spoke to the creature inside the fishbowl. Espe just stared at her with her huge googly eyes. Speckle mistakenly took that as a yes. She knelt by the side of the pond, pouring the bowl's contents into the pond. Once Espe was in the water she tried to swim away as fast as she could, but given the fact she was newly hatched and not that great at swimming yet, she didn't make it very far. Stripping down to her bathing suit, Speckle slipped into the water next to her creature. "Espe!" she called to her, Where d'you think you're going silly?"

"Espe! Espey! EspeEspeEspe!" Speckle called to the kraden, dangling a piece of fish near her. The kraden, seeing how fast the girl could move in the water compared to her, gave up on trying to escape for now. Turning to face Speckle, she eyed the piece of meat hungrily. "Good girl!" Speckle praised her handing it over. Espe nearly ripped Speckle's hands to shreds she was so eager to get to the meat. "Ahh! Careful!" Speckle frowned at the little squid. She had managed to move her hand in time to avoid injury, but next time she might not be as lucky.

With Espe distracted by the fish she was now chomping on with her sharp beak, Speckle quickly grabbed another treat from the shore. Wading back in, she held it out again. "Espe!" she called cheerily to the kraden. Espe was too busy eating to pay Speckle any mind. "Espe! Espey!" Speckle tried again, waving the fish about wildly. The kraden glanced up at her for a millisecond before returning to her food. Ahh well, it was a start.

"Good girl!" Speckle cheered, dropping the fish in front of the squid-like creature this time. She wanted Espe to know her name and have some loyalty towards her before she tried to teach the squid not to bite.

Espe attacked the fish dropped in front of her with gusto, managing to eat it in 2 bites. "Espe!" Speckle called to her when she finished, "Espe girl! Espey! EspeEspe!" The kraden spared her a withering glance before searching about for more food. "Good girl!" Speckle grinned widely, tossing her yet another fish.

Espe actually noticed the fish had come from the girl this time. She wondered why she didn't just drop a whole bunch of fish in instead of feeding them one by one with all this noise! It seemed rather pointless in her mind.

Name 1

Speckle didn't own many aquatic creatures, especially ones from the Freehold. She just wasn't as interested in aquatic life. The newest hatchlings however had caught her attention, as they had the ability to come onto land for short periods of time. Plus they were pretty darn cute! She had brought the one she had adopted to the pond today in hopes to train it a little. She'd heard they could be hard to train, so she'd be happy with just teaching the basics for now.

Looking down at the small creature floating about in the fishbowl in her hands, she set it at the side of the pond and sat beside the bowl. She didn't want to release him into the pond just yet, as he was a fast little guy who could easily swim away and not come back. She wanted to at least teach him his name before trusting him in the larger body of water.

"Bruce!" she called to him, lightly tapping on the glass, "Bruce Bruce!" The tap definitely caught his attention, and he flinched at the noise, swirling to face the girl, staring at her with wide frightened eyes.
