Contest Hall

The Contest Hall is in full swing again, and I apologize for any delays on my part! A few new contests are going to be set up, so expect some of those soon. In the meantime, however, the latest Beauty Contest needs to be voted on! You can find the poll here, and I must say, some beauties really did come out of the woodwork for this one.

Voting will end 9-28, so make sure to vote before it's too late! I'll update as soon as a new contest is up, but it shouldn't be too long of a wait.

Now, I am truly excited by these next two contests, I did them just for you! First of all I'd like to announce the second Freak Show Contest, just in time for Vai Min Mur! As some of you may know, I had a hard time the last time it ran, hopefully I'll do much better.

And this contest I'm more excited about. I've had the idea for awhile and I just finished up the details of it, so I'm very thrilled to announce the First Annual Vai Min Mur Contest! That's right, two contests at once, how exciting!

The Vai Min Mur Contest does have a few requirements, so make sure you know them. Your pet must be either Shadow or Psychic-aligned, so make sure you choose well! Second of all, everyone who enters needs to show off a little when I open the Show Ring for it. Everyone who enters and shows off gets a prize. That's right, everyone who enters and does a little work gets a prize! There are also going to be very special prizes for the top three winners chosen in this contest, so good luck to you all!

Entry for these two contests ends on October 5th, so make sure and enter, I'm really excited by this!

((For the purposes of this event, you are able to enter both contests. You're going to be there anyway, so you might as well try for both! Just make sure you enter two different pets, cheating gets you disqualified for life!))

I've noticed some of you wandering back and forth past my beautiful building, looking like you aren't sure whether you should enter my contests or not. So I've decided to announce the prizes you could win in my special Vai Min Mur Contest!

Pumpkin Head
This pocketpet is a prize for anyone who enters and makes a little effort to show off in the Show Ring! They're mischevious little critters, getting into absolutely anything and everything! They don't like having pranks pulled on them though, so if you try to, look out! Sometimes the side effects can be quite... interesting. They'll only bond to either you or the dear pet you entered, so choose wisely!

Third Place Prize

Imp Mask
Your pet can properly dress up for the holiday with this Imp Mask! Made with soft materials (so as not to injure the more delicate pets), the cord can easily fit any pet who wins it! The pet who wins 3rd Prize may only choose one mask, so make sure it's a color they'll like!

Second Place Prize

Skull Mask Plushie
It's a skull? It's a mask? It's a plushie? How do all those fit together? Well, I'm not sure, but I do know it looks very nice! It can be worn as a frightening mask on Vai Min Mur or cuddled with as a plushie on those lonely nights, it's never dull when there's a soft, squeezable skull around!

First Place Prize

Pandora's Box
I... don't quite recall how this item came to be in my possession, but I figured it wouldn't do much harm to give this to the best of the best! Use caution if you wish to open it though, it could either mean death, destruction, and doom across the globe! Or it could have cookies. Either way, be careful!

I hope this makes more of you want to enter, I want the kick-off of my special contests to really make an impact on everyone! If not many people enter, I may not get to hand out these prizes, and that would be a very sad thing indeed! So please enter the Vai Min Mur Contest, and don't forget there's a Freak Show as well!

They're here, they're finally here! I had it in my mind to go searching for some more little rewards for those who enter my contests, but I decided to talk with the nice TROD at the Laboratory instead. Who knows if I would ever be able to find some on my own? It would severely cut into my announcement times, and that wouldn't do at all!

I have decided to hand out two more prizes with the two contests I am holding at the moment. The first is for those who enter the Freak Show and give a little effort, and the second is for those who enter and give effort in both the Freak Show and the Vai Min Mur Contest!

Freak Show Entry Prize

Creepling
For every Freak Show there needs to be a creepy little mascot! From now on, anyone who enters and gives a little effort into any Freak Show I host will get one of these little creatures. They'll attach either to you or the dear pet you entered, so make sure you know who wants it more! They're strange little things, seeming to take their cue from the Corpse Constructs who've made their way from the Labs, only the Creeplings only show two parts of themselves at a time! There could be a head and an arm, an arm and a leg, anything you can imagine! The rest of it will always look like a puddle of ooze, no one's really sure why... It's quite awkward for them to move around, it usually means dragging itself from one of it's showing parts and scooting the ooze around a little, but I'm sure you'll find that out soon enough.

Spirit of the Holiday Prize

Imp
This little Imp will go home with anyone who participates in both the Freak Show and the Vai Min Mur Contest this month! It will bond with either you or one of the pets you entered in either contest, make sure it's one who can handle it! This little Imp loves pulling pranks, though they're a little more... violent... than their Pumpkin Head cousins. Quite mean-spirited, harm will come to anyone who tries to do the same to them. If they're caught in the middle of setting up a prank, they'll typically cackle and disappear into a puff of smoke, appearing in the shadows somewhere nearby. Maybe this is why an Imp Mask is one of the Vai Min Mur Contest prizes...

If that isn't enough to entice you all to enter, perhaps winning a spot in the Winner's Circle is? I may even have little giveaways a few times a year to people who've placed in previous contests, who knows?

I feel... so terrible about what happened to everyone's puppies, I know a lot of you had very strong bonds to your pet Vultici. So, in a kind of memorial, I've made a few things that might ease the pain just a little.

Please, come by my building and let me know how you feel. We're all here for you in this time, and I hope you'll be able to cope with your losses.

Well entry for the contests are finally over, now it's time to show off what you're made of! The show rings are open for both the Vai Min Mur Contest and the Freak Show! Remember, no attacking any other contestants or the judges and you'll do just fine! Also remember the entry prizes for both contests are only given if you participate, so keep and eye out!

Both Show Rings close October 19th, so be sure to strut your stuff before then!

Also, if you weren't able to make it to the Memorial, Mr. Simon has graceously offered to keep all the pillows for me in his shop, Playful Pup. They're free, and they will always be free.

It's October 20th, and, as promised, the Vai Min Mur contest and the Freak Show have entered the voting stage! Please make sure you watched each contestant, this really isn't a popularity contest, you wouldn't want the prizes to go to someone who doesn't deserve it, would you?

You may vote in both the Vai Min Mur contest and the Freak Show, but make sure you get your votes in by October 26th, because that's when the polls close!

Also, it is my great pleasure to announce a very new contest, recently fleshed out and ready to run! This is the very first Obediance Trial! Enter with your favorite pet, the one who will hang on your every word and do everything you say no matter what. I hope many, many people enter! This one will end a little sooner than everyone's used to, it's a bit of a trial run and we'll see how it goes. Registration for the Obediance Trials end on October 26th.

I have a question.

From the Vai Min Mur contest... Does that mean that those who didn't do the show ring are disqualified, or just that they can't get the little pocket pet thing?

It means you don't get the participation prize. However, I strongly urge everyone to post in the Show Ring of the Contests they enter, there may be times when you actually get points taken away from your final score because of lack of participation.

If I had to warrant a guess, I would say that the .5 was from the other part of the scoring. X3 It's voting and then some sort of how-well-you-did-in-the-ring scoring, added together to make the winners.
