It was early morning as Sakkith wandered out into the yard. Actually, it was a bit too early for her tastes, she wasn't much of a morning person, unless she had stayed up that late. But no, today she had decided to get up horridly early and wander out to the taming yard to get some training done. She always tended to procrastinate with that, and she figured that would probably be a bad thing to do with something called a 'maneating' deesling. Although, Sakkith had heard that they would eventually make great bodyguards, as long as you weren't male!

Sakkith glanced at the small potted creature with a smirk, appearanly there was a reason they were called MANeating. Still, it was always good to build up loyalty early, which was why she was out here. Although, Sakkith didn't know how much training you could really do with a creature that was suck in a planter. Her name maybe, but that was about it.

That was why Sakkith had brought along Cinnabar, so getting up this early wouldn't be a total waste. While she had spent some time with the eudrace before, she still didn't particularly like Sakkith. Then again, the species wasn't known for being friendly, although Malachite wasn't as bad. Cinnabar was currently following along behind Sakkith, glaring. The ssashirk completely ignored her, after being glared at by Varkon, the little reptile was far from intimidating.

As annoying as getting up this early was, Sakkith was very happy that it wasn't the clover feilds. Again. Ugh, if she saw another clover in the next week, she was going to go on murdering spree. Seriously, with the rocks, and the, ugh, mud, and finding-everything-but-one-on-the-list, yeah, lets just say training was a well needed break.

This looked as good as any a place to train. True, there were more rocks and trees than she liked, but it wasn't like she had brought along anything that could send her flying. Sitting down on one of the large, flat rocks, that old tree trunk just looked bad, Sakkith took out a piece of paper. Opps, looks like she had forgotten to write down a list. Ah well, just the usual things for now, name, come, stay, no, basics really. Maybe teach Cinnabar a few battle moves, the only thing Cyanide could really do right now was nip. Unpleasant on fingers, sure, but not really any good in a fight.

Cyanide: 2, 1/5 (lyl: 1)
Cinnabar: 5, 1/5 (lyl: 1)
Sakkith: 21, 203/210

This. This was just not his day.First he had tripped on his way to the keep, then he found that yet again Ace had ripped up the ground and halfway pulled up the shrub. And To top it of? He was now lost with Ace hot on his heels.Ace the Eudrace had desided that hope needed his legs bitten off because the male had left him all by his self.He needed people! People to trick!

Hope peeked around a corner and blinked in the earlier morning sun.Good! Ace had stopped and was trying to find hope but was still far off. "Phew..I've got alittle time before he catchs up.." Hope murmered to himself before he turned to continue running away.Sadly for the humanish he tripped on his lases causing a huge racket.Ace looked up slowly, his ears flicking this way and that.He spotted hope's legs and the race was on again!

"Aww Sh..Wait..No time for cursing must run!" Hope said as he quickly psuhed his lases inside his shoes before he jumped up and ran down the street,Ace catching quickly. "Whyy mee?" Hope whinned as he ran,he really hated being chased! You'd think he'd get usest to it since it happened like every other day for him.

Hope quickly crossed and came into the training area.He glanced behide him and shivered as Ace looked like he was going to rip the male's legs to shreds.Hope continued running through the area before he stopped and took a few huge glups of air.He was meters away from the female Ssashirk, though he didn't see her at all.Hope sighed and looked at the closing Eudrace. "Aww stuff this!" Hope muttered darkly before he ran towards the Eudrace and body slammed him.

Ace didn't see hope coming at all and when the humanish landed on his back he was winded. "That'll teach ya to mess with me! I didn't spend 4 month hiding from assassins and barely getting any food to deal with you!" Hope yelled his voice deeper then normal.Just what was this guy on about? Hope continued muttering underhis breath, many of the words likely to be curses. Hope then quickly sat on the creatrue he had pinned and stopped him from moving.

This was the first time he noticed the Ssashirk. He eyed her before he just looked at her Eudrace. He stared at the red creature for a few moments before he just turned back to the Eudrace stuck beneithe him.Stupid creatrue..Making him lose his cover! Damp it!

Cinnabar sat down a few feet from Sakkith, still glaring at the ssashirk. She rolled her eyes, taking out a bag of treats that looked suspicously like meatballs. That would be because they were meatballs, although, admitatly, of a rather small size, only as big as a marble. Well it wasn't like she was training anything big, it should be enough for a eudrace and deesling.

It would probably be a good idea to start with Cyanide, as the deesling seemed to like Sakkith a bit more than the eudrace did. Right now all Cinnabar would do was glare, she wouldn't get any training done at all. "Ccyanide." Sakkith called, turning her attention away from the glaring eudrace. The deesling looked at her curiously, not understanding the sound. Sakkith handed her a treat, careful not to get nipped.

Sakkith was about to repeat the deesling's name, when a loud noise drew her attention. Looking over, she saw a human bodyslam into a eudrace. Well that was rather odd, and not a particularly good idea, considering the spines. Assassins? Why would he be chased by assassins? While she was somewhat interested, Sakkith wouldn't ask about his past, even if the human wasn't a complete stranger, as that sort of question was often reveresed. And the last thing Sakkith wanted was people poking their noses into her past.

After some inaudible mumbling, much of which Sakkith suspected was swearing, the human, or humanish, she supposed, seeing the eyes, finally noticed the ssashirk. "Havinng trrouble withh you'rr eudrracce?" Sakkith asked, a smirk creeping onto her face.

Cyanide: 2, 2/5 (lyl: 2)
Cinnabar: 5, 2/5 (lyl: 2)

With the visitor seeming to have gone, Sakkith got back to her training. "Cyanide." she called, waving another meatball around. Either from the sound of her voice, or the smell of the meat, the deesling turned around, looking at the ssashirk and reaching for her fingers. "Good." Sakkith praised, moving the treat within biting distance. Cyanide eagerly snatched it out of her fingers, devouring in a quick snap.

It was rather unusual to be training something that lived in a planter, sure Sakkith could teach Cyanide her name, but what else? It wasn't like the deesling could learn 'come' or 'stay' in this state. She would have to go over the training guide, it seemed, but that could wait until she was done with her name.

Cinnabar had been focused on the meatballs the second she had seen the treat. She wanted the meat, but instead that little weed was getting all the food! It didn't help that she was hungry, either. Like with most training, Sakkith hadn't fed the eudrace before taking her out, it increased the effectiveness of food rewards, after all. But currently, it wasn't helping training, now all it was doing was causing her to be glared at by a rather grumpy eudrace.

Cyanide: 2, 3/5 (lyl: 3)
Cinnabar: 5, 3/5 (lyl: 3)
Sakkith: 30, 290/300

But Cinnabar wasn't known for having a particularly long attention span, and it didn't take long before she was distracted from the meat by something rustling the in the bushes. Curious, she stood up, ears pointed at the plant. Hmm, it stopped, no, wait, there it was again. Quietly, Cinnabar crept closer, halting each time the rustling quieted, finally stopping infront of the bush.

Sakkith wasn't paying any attention to the eudrace, and neither was the deesling that had captured her attention. "Cyanide." she repeated, digging out another meatball. The deesling, in responce to the noise, turned her head and looked at Sakkith. "Good." she handed the deesling the treat. Basic training was always tedious, well, not always, sometimes it was quite painful instead. But she didn't have any really large of visous freehold monsters, and the tiny deesling was hardly dangerous. Once she grew, sure, but certanly not now.

And it might not be too long before that happened. She had hatched quite a while ago, although there were earlier pets that still hadn't grown, some species grew faster than others. She should probably spend some time with her verai, Sakkith realized, if they didn't get to know you early, they never did trust you.

Cyanide: 2, 4/5 (lyl: 4)
Cinnabar: 5, 4/5 (lyl: 4)
Sakkith: 30, 291/300

Yeah, verai had deffinatly better be next on the list, Sakkith had already given away her shadow, as he had reached the 'I hate you!' age. She hadn't managed to earn the trust of any of the verai from the earlier hatchings, and there was no way she was going to miss it with her new volt.

"Cyanide." she called, letting the deesling finish with her last treat before speaking again. Not that it took long, it only took her a few seconds to devour the small treat. Fortunatly, she turned her head around and looked at Sakkith, although it was probably due to the sound. Sakkith tossed her one of the meatballs. Although they were just the right size for a deesling, she didn't think that they would work too well with a eudrace. Sure, Cinnabar loved meat, but they were just too small for a creature of her size.

The rustling stopped, whatever that was making the noise appearantly heard the approaching eudrace. Cinnabar paused for a moment, pricking her ears forward. It was still there, that she knew, she would have seen it make a run for it if it had. Ah! There it was again. The sound of her footsteps masked by the rustling leaves, she crept toward the bush again, closer, closer. Then, when the eudrace was a foot away, she leapt forward, charging into the bush with a crunch!

Cyanide: 3, 5/10 (lyl: 5)
Cinnabar: 6, 5/10 (lyl: 5)
Sakkith: 30, 292/300

What the hell!? Sakkith spun around in time to see a small creature rapidly flee out of an unusual leafy bush. What was unusual about it was the fact that there was half of a large, red eudrace poking out of it. Cinnabar growled as she clawed at the bush. The branches had gotten caught on her spikes, and now it didn't want to let her out. With a final strong thrash she wrenched herself free from the plant, leaves and branches still tangled around her spines.

Sakkith was faintly amused, it wasn't every day you saw a eudrace cannonball a bush. She suspected it was because of whatever it was that she spotted running out of the bush, she couldn't really see any other reason for Cinnabar to attack a bush. Well, unless she was insane, but she really didn't behave like any of the crazy pets that Sakkith had.

Either way, that didn't change the fact that she had training to do. "Cyanide." Sakkith called, the deesling had also turned her attention to the eudrace, what she thought of Cinnabar, Sakkith didn't know. Fortunatly, now that there really wasn't anything interesting going on over there, Cyanide was content to turn around and look at Sakkith, mouth open, expecting food.

Cyanide: 3, 6/10 (lyl: 6)
Cinnabar: 6, 6/10 (lyl: 6)
Sakkith: 30, 293/300

Smart little thing, the deesling was, although most creatures learned quickly when food was involved. Not nessisarily to do what the trainer wanted, but what got them food. "Cyanide." Sakkith called, waiting for the deesling before taking out a treat. Twisting her head around, mouth open, Cyanide stared expectantly at Sakkith, and was rewarded with a meatball.

Time to mix it up a bit. "Toassterr." Expecting food, Cyanide looked at Sakkith, mouth open. She was, needless to say, rather dissapointed when she didn't recieve a treat. What had she done wrong? Looking at the ssashirk when she made odd sounds usually got her food. "Cyanide." Unsure, the deesling slowly looked toward Sakkith. "Good." Sakkith held out a treat, and the meatball was quickly snatched out of her fingers. It was a little silly to try to avoid being nipped, it wasn't like it would hurt any.

Cinnabar was looking distinctly annoyed, and a bit humorous. The fact that numerous leaves and branches were stuck on her spines made her look more than a little silly. Twisting around, she tried to reach the bits of plant stuck on her back. It... didn't work. She couldn't possibly reach them, and nearly fell over in the process. That would be best avoided, she looked rediculous enough, she certanly didn't need to add 'randomly falling over' on top of it.

Cyanide: 3, 7/10 (lyl: 7)
Cinnabar: 6, 7/10 (lyl: 7)
Sakkith: 35, 349/350

Now for another not-your-name word. "Trree." Cyanide looked slowly at Sakkith, as it wasn't her name, no treat was given. "Fensseposst." That earned her only a brief glane. "Ssisssorrss." No response at all that time. Good, it looked like she was starting to get it. Of course, there was no guarentee that Cyanide would listen even when her actual name was called.

Testing was in order. "Cyanide." Nothing. "Cyanide." Sakkith repeated, a bit louder. Slowly, the deesling turned to look at the ssashirk. Sakkith handed her a treat. "Good." With some creatures, Sakkith really had to wonder at the effictivness of verbal praise, but this deesling seemed to like it at least somewhat. Made it a little easier, one would suppose.

Alright, so, she wasn't going to be able to reach the leaves with her teeth. Ugh, claws maybe? Sitting down first, Cinnabar still wanted to avoid any embaressing falls, she triedd to reach the caught brances with her paws. Ow. Okay. So, that didn't work. Sure she could reach them, sort of, but the eudrace's paws weren't dextrous enough to reach inbetween the spikes and claw off the leaves. She just ended up getting poked.

Cyanide: 3, 8/10 (lyl: 8)
Cinnabar: 6, 8/10 (lyl: 8)
Sakkith: 36, 350/360

Of course, she would have to start removing the treats soon, although it would be better to wait a few more tries, just to make sure Cyanide would keep paying attention to Sakkith. "Cyanide." Looking up quite a bit faster than last time, Sakkith praised her, and handed over a meatball. Hmm, they were almost out of meatballs by now, although she had brought along some much bigger chunks for the eudrace. They were far too large for a deesling though.

It was unlikly that the speed at which she looked up was a fluke, but it didn't hurt to try it again. "Cyanide." Sakkith called, pleased when the deesling looked up just as fast as before. "Good." Shaking the bag, Sakkith took out what appeared to be the last meatball, odd, she thought there had been more in there. Ah well, it was enought, and Cyanide eagerly ate the last treat.

Oh forget it! There was no way she was going to get those bush remnants off of her spines. Sure the ssashirk could probably do that, but Cinnabar wasn't going to go through the humiliation of that. Not that the way she looked now wasn't humiliating. At least there wasn't anyone around, just the ssashirk and that odd plant. Why was she talking to it anyway?

Cyanide: 3, 9/10 (lyl: 9)
Cinnabar: 6, 9/10 (lyl: 9)
Sakkith: 36, 351/360

Now to remove the treats. At least it was just a deesling this time, larger, more... violent pets tended to get 'agressive' at this stage. That always hurt. "Cyanide." Sakkith called, after putting away the empty bag. The deesling looked up, expecting treats. "Nnope, nno food thhiss timme. But good job." Yeah, she was rather dissapointed not to recieve the meat she had been accustomed to, but at least she seemed to settle for the praise.

It looked like they were almost done, another few repititions, and they should be good. "Cyanide." The deesling looked up, albet a litte slower. Still, it was certanly fast enough. Again, no treat was given, but Sakkith made sure to praise her well. Once more? Eh, why not. One more time wouldn't hurt. "Cyanide." The deesling looked up at Sakkith, just as she was supposed to. "Good. I thhinnk you underrsstannd whhenn to look at mme." Yes, it did seem that they were done. Now for some work with her eudrace.

Speaking of eudrace, Cinnabar had forgotten about the leaves still caught on her spikes, and had wandered over the large bag filled with training supplies that Sakkith had brought. There was something in there that smelled rather good, although it wasn't very strong, probably muffled by whatever it was in. Putting her front paws up on the rock in was sitting on, Cinnabar poked her nose into the bag.

Cyanide: 4, 10/15 (lyl: 10)
Cinnabar: 7, 10/15 (lyl: 10)
Sakkith: 36, 352/360
