On Friday, the U.S. federal minimum wage will be increased to a record $7.25 per hour. While many in the business community claim that this last of three minimum wage increases will lead to more lost jobs, most people that only earn the minimum wage where they work will most certainly feel a difference when their weekly paycheck increase by about $25. It's sad that the United States needs a minimum wage in the first place because the very fact that one is necessary proves that there are some businesses both large and small that would take advantage of lessor educated workers if given the chance. While Friday's increase in the minimum wage was passed into law by a GOP Congress and signed by President Bush - I expect many conservative Republicans will try and blame this last stage of a three part increase in the current minimum wage on President Obama.
