So I watched this episode last night, again. It took me three times to get the dvd to work.

I can't stand Cameron. She's what late 20's? she should been more confident, and not just do drugs on a whim, even if the POTW was trying to get her to. I would have told him to shut up, I don't understand why people have to get other people to do drugs? I've met people who've I thought a stiff drink might help them, but I don't say anything. Her behavior is something you see in Middle School and possibly High School. And Chase, why'd you go sleep with you drugged up possibly HIV positive collegue(which we know she isn't)?

I liked the Cinamatography of this episode. I also loved Wilson's hair reminded be of a 1940's style of hair, and looked good on RSL.

Classic House-Stealing Stacy's psych file, then trying to prove that she's still into him, by catching the Steve McQueen (which I squeed everytime I saw him on screen, I love rats my friend use to have one and their one of the most social and friendliest animals, I kind of want to go to a pet store and by one). I also loved how he asked Foreman advice about the rat's symptoms, and when Foreman replied to do a whole work up, House said he couldn't do that as the patient had no insurance, then the next day having Steve in the elevator with him.

The whole House after Stacy's rat was my favorite part. Especially when Foreman called him as he first saw Steve.

Sorry for the late arrival, I've been involved in some very exciting business which I'll fill you all in on near the end of the month.

I won't even enter the realm of Cameron, although to me she was a little less annoying this episode than in some. But that "Holier than thou" attitude is still prevelant here.

My favorite part of this one, and one of my favorite House moments so far is the conversation he and Stacy have while sprwled on the floor waiting for Steve to enter the trap.

The bit about him knowing what level of hell she was in by the amount of times she left to smoke and her apology to him. So well written and just done to perfection by the actors.

And all the House mischeif! I can't get enough of the little boy in him. Makes me squee everytime! :D The going back and lifting the toilet seat was priceless. One of those little moments that make House so endearing to me.

And I think the parallel between the PoTW and his father and Stacy and House is well played as well.

That longtime hurt which both sides refuse to face, deal with or backdown from is finally brought to the forefront in a way neither can ignore. And the circumstances finally bring about a shift in attitudes. Neither of them major but a shift nonetheless.

The apology to the father and Stacy's apology to House. Both come too late to fix the damage but I think help to ease the others anger and guilty and whatever else is making them hold onto their anger and hurt.

House's leg will and life will never be the same and the guy's wife isn't going to rise from the dead but I think knowing that the other party, who was the partial cause of their pain, recognizes and regrets their part in it does give them each some peace.

And yes prpl I like the cinematography in this episode too. The lighting really set the mood.

So, what'll we watch next week? I want to suggest the pilot. I know the lighting is crap but I find it's fun to go back and look at all the characters knowing what we know now. Especially House and Wilson (since we've learned the most about them.) It just blows me away at how they have never wavered from the charaters they established at the beginning. And since I haven't done that in awhile it'd be fun to compare now that we're past the halfway point of season three.

What do you say?

I forgot how much I love that song at the end.

It's different for me. I don't remember how I reacted to House in this episode the first time I watched it, but the last few times he's sort of put me off. Instead of thinking "hee hee" when he starts washing the dishes and stuff, I get annoyed with him--which is weird, because no matter how annoying House's behavior is to other characters, it rarely annoys me. This episode it was kind of like, "Wow...you really are pretty repulsive sometimes, aren't you?" I think that's probably what the writers were going for here, though--to show us how far he'd go to get her back, how obsessed he was, etc.

Having said that, I still have no pity for Stacy in this episdoe. House was being a manipulative bastard (no one says it better than Foreman :D ), but she was being a weakling. I know her indecisiveness is what made a lot of people like her--it made her human, flawed, etc--but I got pretty tired of her constantly wavering between House and Mark and then acting like the consequences were completely their fault. She tells House she's committed to Mark. Then House starts washing her dishes and sets up camp in her attic, and instead of telling him to Get Out, she decides to let him hang around, maybe stay with him and talk and...see what happens? What do you think's gonna happen? <_< At least House had made up his mind about what he wanted and what he was doing.

Having said that, the scene where the rat-trap shuts in the attic is probably one of my favorite House/Stacy scenes. I didn't always feel the chemistry between the two of them, but they definitely had it there. My eyes are glued to the screen every time, and the trap shutting always surprises me. ^^

Geez, Chase. That was not your smartest move. (Maybe he felt like he had something to prove after Kalvin hit on him. <_< ) It's funny that almost the same thing (minus the drugs) happened at the end of this past episode. Does it say something about Cameron, or about Chase, that he can't seem to refuse?

I didn't rewatch-- poor me, I don't have the DVDs-- but I've got to echo Prpl's comment on the teenage girlness of Cameron. I commented on it in last episode too in regards to her reaction to Foreman talking about a no-strings attached relationship. She's completely like a 13 or 14 year-old (if not preteen) responding to a dare from her friends. She seems to completely lack the conviction to say "That's your opinion" and leave it at that. In this case, sure, I can understand thinking "Maybe he's right, I don't have enough fun", but my response would be to think of taking up a new hobby or deciding to go out over the weekend, not immediately "I should try drugs". More and more I'm thinking maybe Cameron did a get a criminal record for something like shoplifting after a conversation like this:

"Oh, Cameron, you're such a goody-goody."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Well, I don't care" (total lie)

"Yeah, well I dare you to go in there and steal something"

(looks indignant for about five seconds, then)
"Okay, you're on."

Of course she does a horrible job and gets caught.

As for Chase, I'm not sure what to think. On one hand he's got a woman to whom he's obviously really attracted literally throwing herself at him and she's getting kind of forceful, on the other I can't believe that he couldn't tear himself away. What I can't believe is on TWOP at least, some people are angry at him for "raping" Cameron. I'd have preferred that he'd been a gentleman, disengaged himself and gone home (possibly to have a cold shower) but she was looking pretty willing there.

And now here we go again. It is interesting that if the spoilers pan out the way they sound that Chase (the man) will be the one who can't separate the physical from the emotional when the stereotype--note I'm not saying the reality-- is the other way around (the man's in it for the sex and the woman ends up getting attached).

And reaffirming the Steve love, he's got to be the cutest rat ever and in my own bizarre fantasy world I will continue to believe that House decided not to clobber him not because he might have an interesting disease but because he caught a glimpse of the pleading eyes and the cute little round ears and couldn't bear to squish him.

If someone told me I was boring, I'd tell them to fuck off, then go sulk. Meth is one drug I'm afraid to try, I guess the propaganda of people with no teeth (funny how it's the lack of teeth that scare me, not the possible psychosis, or death, or addiction (although I do use discression), scare me. That and what's made of is kinda eugh. It is probably shoplifting or skipping school, something stupid/lame that a lot of kids get in trouble for I never did, but then again I never shop lifted (I had friends who did, but I never saw the point I never wanted something so bad that I had to steal it) and my school was too small, with 50 people in my class I'm sure someone would have noticed. Hell one time I was sick and someone forgot to call the school and the school called asking where I was. I didn't need to skip school, I had stuff to do to entertain myself and make myself numb to the BS at the same time.

Chase could have said no. I don't think Cameron knows what she wants. She alternates between going after Chase and House; they're both good looking, but gah! you can't have both, and I hope you get neither, because I've never been a big fan of ships. Except House, Wilson and Cuddy, and although it won't happen a possible three way.

I really wish Steve would make another cameo, but I think he died right? whatever happened to him? I feel like their should be a segment on "where are they now? "for him. Then again would love to watch House rap, because that would be funny.

I was more of a goody-goody in high school than I am now, if that's possible, though it's not just small high schools where they call if you have an unexcused absence. My, relatively large, high school did too. Worse, it was somehow done by computer which went through the list of people alphabetically, my last name is closer to the end than the beginning, so they'd tend to get to me around 8 or 9 at night (I pity the people who were really at the end). I never intentionally skipped school though once I got marked absent because my grade was supposed to take a standardized test during two periods, and I thought it was just a single period and went to class for the first one (wondering why I was the only person from my grade in the class), but due to the incident I just mentiond and mistake, the details of which I can't remember, I got called a few times. So the "Catparents" and I are just sitting around on a normal evening and the phone rings, "Catmother" answers, hangs up looking angry and demands to know why I skipped school. Not a relaxing evening!

And I have good news, Steve McQueen is not dead that I know of. House did try to use him as a lab rat, literally, during Euphoria part two, but as he wasn't exposed to the source of the disease--at the time they didn't know what was up with the greenhouse-- his life was spare. I believe someone saw his cage in the apartment in a screencap, but couldn't say which episode, or provide a link, but I believe that Steve is still alive and skittering somewhere in the "House of House".

Yeah, I'm towards the beginning of the alphabet, but unfortunatly my mom gave them her Cell, Which they lost, because of the one time they called the house. I didn't know that before, then and when I found that out I had too much to make up from being sick one day.which means their's no way for me to intercept the call, and lie about how My mom is busy. I thought she had called, I guess I was suppose to; I don't know her work # she just moved offices; and she hasn't told me it yet... She lost her cell.....well I'm sick, been throwing up all morning hold on *runs to the bathroom makes sticks finger down throat, makes gagging noises, has a bit of breakfast come up and flushes toilet* ...Yeah, I will, I'll be back tommorow, I'm sure, I'm fine." Then leave and fine something to do, in case a parent decides to eat lunch at home, or something.

Of course if that happened to me, like I do when I'm falsely accused of something, I figure I'd have to make it true and actually skip school the next day.
