What did you have for dinner tonight? I have closed the other thread because it was defective in that it didn't show new replies. Hopefully this one will be O.K. :)

Hmm ... last night's dinner was a treat!

Gav found a new recipe to try and it was MAGIC! Lamb & Sage Potato wrapped in Puff Pastry!

A backstrap of lamb seared and cooked to pink perfection ... then thrown in the fridge to maintain it's juices. The potatoes were steamed and then mashed with Sage and onion. The lamb was placed on the sheet of puff pastry ... covered with a layer of the tasty sage potato ... then whacked back in the oven to cook the pastry to that golden brown colour! It was YUM!

Served with fresh steamed corn and baby beans! Hmmm!

We're still eating Christmas food as there's plenty of ham left, and some turkey as well.

If anyone wants to read how we cook our turkey and ham, I've posted pictures and instructions on my forum (ham & turkey). Note: there are some older turkey and ham photos as well, so look for the more recent entries..

We don't get bored with this stuff as you only get it once a year, so there's nothing wrong with eating the same stuff for a week or so!

Stello,

As always, those photos are amazing!!! You should consider selling them to some food magazines. :fall: :food: (seriously)

On Christmas day, a neighbour invited me over to her place to spend Christmas supper with her family. We had turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas, gravy....hmm, everything was just delicious, and I really enjoyed myself!

Thanks for sharing the photos, Stello, you really know how to make anyplace seem like home. :)

Thanks Wren :parrot:

Our Sunday dinner was lamb with roast potatoes and carrots. I loooove the crispy lamb fat, especially when it's cooked in a gas oven.

There's one of the roasties (potatoes) left, so I might have it as a late night snack, later on..

Sounds absolutely delicious, Stello! :drink: :food:

I had roast pork last night with potatoes and carrots, and tonight I had some of the leftover pork with veggies. Tomorrow night, I plan to have some leftover Rock Cornish hen....mmmm. :)
