` DUNGEONS the bright entrance hall has two staircases, one is a marble staircase with many flights the other is a small rickety one which leads into this dark and damp place. it may be unpleasant in the dark corridor but the it is also home to the slytherins' and the potions master. right beside the potions masters office is the potions class and a store cupboard. the hufflepuffs also live here but in the nicer area along the corridor where the kitchens are.

` GROUND FLOOR the first floor anybody at hogwarts walks into. the huge entrance hall which is big enough for several muggle houses to fit inside has doors leading to rooms such as, the great hall, staff room and other rooms which are not as important. you can even find the office of the caretaker here not that you want too of course.

` FIRST FLOOR if you make it to this level without the staircase moving you will find that there are three classroom on this floor. one of those is muggle studies another is history of magic and the third defence against the dark arts. professor mcgongalls office is also here along with the hospital wing.

` SECOND FLOOR this floor is not used very often. in fact most people avoid it. the only rooms on this floor which are even remotely used are the defence against the dark arts office which of course changes hands every year and moaning mrytles bathroom which everybody avoids due to it being haunted by the most annoying ghost in the school and if your ever unfortunate enough to met her make sure you don't talk about death !

` THIRD FLOOR on this floor their is a corridor which is this year 'out of bounds unless you wish to die a most painful death'. on a happier note the charms class is on this floor. charms is an easy subject and often very fun. if you happen to have time off from everything you may also wish to pop along to the trophy room or even to look at the statue of that humpbacked witch. there is something about the statue maybe its the passageway leading to hogsmeade which very limited people know about.
` FOURTH FLOOR the main room used on this floor is the library. where every students must enter just about every week to complete homework. the older you get the more time you need to spend in this room. the other room is where the mirror of erised is kept. only a few people know about this mirror and even fewer know what it really does.

` FIFTH FLOOR this floor is the smallest in hogwarts and was only ever built for once use and that is to give the prefects a special area to bathe. the room of course needs a password to be entered. unlike the house common rooms this password is changed only once per school year. there is also a statue of gregory the smarmy.

` SIXTH FLOOR this floor is pretty pointless in the mordern day hogwarts. aside from the bathrooms the only other room in current use if the transfiguration classroom. there are also many unused classrooms which may once have been used to subjects no longer taught at hogwarts.

` SEVENTH FLOOR on this floor you can find the divination classroom, professor flitwick's office and the room of requirement which nobody really knows about. there are also several portraits which hide secret entrances. across from the room of requirement is a huge tapestry of barnabas the barmy foolish trying to train trolls to ballet dance.

` TOWERS there are six towers in hogwarts. two of them are commons rooms. one for gryffindor. one for ravenclaw. dumbledore's home can also be found here along with the astronomy class which is out of bounds expect when classes are in progress. inside the west tower is the owlery and inside the north towers is professor trelawney's office.
` LAWNS most of the area outside hogwarts are huge patches of grass. perfect for sitting around on those sunny days. and when its not sunny? snowballs fights! the wide space is just perfect for that. although i wouldn't fancy trying to reach herbology in cold weather. at the bottom of the grounds it the entrance to the forbidden forest and hagrids cabin.

` HAGRID'S CABIN the wooden cabin of the half-giant, is, surprisingly, very small. it is a single room with a large, cozy fireplace in one corner, and a huge bed in the other, along with a table, a drawer and cupboards. the only window is located on the same side as the front door, facing the castle. there is also a back door, which leads to a pumpkin patch that is surrounded by a wooden fence.

` GREENHOUSES there are three greenhouses on the hogwarts territory, and they are used for the infamous herbology lessons. the higher the number label of the greenhouse, the more dangerous and advanced the plants are in it.

` FORBIDDEN FOREST to the east side of the castle, right behind the line of hagrid's cabin, begins a dark, thick forest that is strictly off-limits to any student, unless they are serving detention with hagrid. if one has ever managed to enter it, they will notice that it has quite a few clear paths, and deeper in, even some clearings. however, students emerge wishing they would never have to come back in.

` WHOMPING WILLOW this tree was planted a good few years ago to hide a students secret. very few people know this and many think it is just there for decoration. the whomping willow is not a normal tree. this tree has a life of its own and will attack anything that moves nearby it. it is the entrance to a very secret passage way.

` LAKE not many schools have their own lake but hogwarts does. when the weather is nice it is perfect to sit beside and complete homework or just spend time with friends. as long as it has not rained in the last twenty four hours otherwise you will get very dirty sitting in the mud or wet.

` QUIDDITCH PITCH a little healthy inter-house competition is what this game brings to hogwarts. practices and games are held here and it can be very exciting. of course it can also be dangerous with people falling of brooms and being hit by bludgers. one thing is for sure. rain or shine qudditch will not be cancelled.
` HOGSMEADE this little village is about a twenty minute walk from hogwarts. those in third year and above may come to this village on selected weekends if they have a sign permission slip. there are lots of shops here and the three broomsticks pub is always a favourite on cold days. maybe you want to check out the shrieking shack which is 'haunted'.

` DIAGON ALLEY in london there is a small pub which only people who posses magical powers can see unless it is pointed out to them. at the back of this pub there is a wall and behind that wall lies diagon alley. a street full of shops just for the magical population. this street becomes very busy in the latter weeks of august as hogwarts students come to buy all the thing they need for the upcoming year.

` KING'S CROSS on the first of september every year this station is filled with very unusual people pushing trolleys with animals and odd shaped packages. they hang around platform nine and three quarters and they seem to disappear after the barrier.. of course we know that this barrier hides the magical train that takes students to hogwarts every single year. if your here after seven o'clock your in trouble!
` KNOCKTURN ALLEY a small lane in diagon alley leads to this dismal place which is full of dark gloomy shops selling everything that you don't really need but if your into dark magic want. parents often forbid their children from entering this alley and honestly we don't blame them. trust me your better off in diagon alley - not to mention safer.

` MINISTRY OF MAGIC hidden underground with the visitors entrance concealed by a phone box and the official entrance being either apparition, portkey or flushing yourself down a toilet is the most important magical building in britain. this building is full of the most important wizards and all decisions are made here - basically it is the government.
` CHAT we understand that sometimes you have to go away for good or just for a short time. hopefully in most cases it will be the latter of the two. no matter which case it is please post in here so we do not give your character to someone else or in the case of someone leaving we can open your character up again. it creates more work when people do not tell us they are leaving. we won't hold it against you if you do.
` QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS at some point you may have a question to ask but you look at the online list and there is nobody online. so if that is the case you can post it here and wait for an admin to come online. the same goes for suggestions please post them all here to be looked over and decided upon. remember we have the right to deny any suggestions.
open to guests
` PENSIEVE pensieves' store memories because the brain of the user is to full to store any more. this pensive is no different. here you will find the memories from past threads. some are complete and some are dead. others are not role-play threads but activity checks or chat threads which we still keep for the records. in fact you can even find applications from the people who are no longer with us.
` IC CHAT BOX please use an avatar of your character's pb. pretend all the characters are inside a room at hogwarts. things that happen in here can affect the roleplay if you wish them too. the time setting in the chat box is the time in the u.k - which is were hogwarts is. so don't send your character to eat dinner at two in the morning just because where you are its dinner time
