Well what can I say? A couple days ago I just got Unreal Tournament 2004 Special Edition in the mail, and I can safely say it's worth it. It's a must-have game if you have a decent gaming rig for yourself, for the most part it runs well on my PC at maximum settings.
Anyway, enough about that, the gameplay is much more refined. Picture the awesome graphics engine of Unreal Tournament 2003, and the superb gameplay and pace of the original Unreal Tournament and you have an idea of what to expect here. All the modes of the previous games are here, including one that has made it's triumphant return (Assault), and there's a new mode that centers around vehicles (Onslaught), something that the previous games didn't have for some odd reason. Both are very well done, and Assault is just brilliant. The depth and size of some of these levels is amazing, and the perfection of the gameplay is something else. What can I say? This is one of the reasons to go out, bang out at least 1000 bucks for a decent gaming rig for yourself, and pay the extra 40 for this game just so you can play the crap out of it and prepare for on-line domination! You owe it to yourself to try this game at least once. I wasn't a huge fan of FPS games until I tried Unreal Tournament, and this is just another reason to add to the reason I say that tje Unreal Tournament series are some of the best games I've ever played. |

Ive only played the first UT, and it was great fun. Too bad my PC's graphix card sucks ass.... i can only play games pre-Earth and Beyond, and i dont have the money right now to get a new card... besides, ive been needing a new PC for over 2 years now, so this might just be an excuse for me if it truly is as sweet of a game as you say!

Believe me JM, I can so relate to where you're coming from. Trust me, before I upgraded my PC to the great one I have now, I had a clunker that was as slow as hell, and I owned it for about 6 years before finally getting this beast of mine put together for myself, and yes, I built the thing myself and got it working by myself. Hence which is why I appreciate it that much more. But it sucks that I have problems with the original UT as I tried playing it on this thing, it seems as if my PC is too fast for it or something. Because it freezes a ton, and when I play, I get jittery frame-rates up the wazoo. Ah well, guess there are times when an old game can't take any more huh? I just hope that they redesign the original UT levels (I mean ALL of them, music and everything) so you can play them on UT2004. This game truly is an experience, one that should be experienced by everyone.
