My story stopped midchapter. Now I pick up the book and begin again.
My life in the GCWA was supposed to be grander. It was me and Dangerous Dan and Mr Excellent and Robert Santana. We were supposed to take over the GCWA and get it into the future and I wanted to be on top. What happened to the dream? Old men are champions and the youth are held down again. The company is dying and the ones who could not let go are the cause.
I thought I had the future ahead of me when I became the X Division Champion. I was somebody. I was moving forward. But then it all fell apart when I got robbed by one man. I lost my edge after this and I tried to come back. But another man stopped me and I was too hurt to continue.
The first was Harvey Danger and the second was Marcus Ka'Derrion.
I never thought about coming back. I was broken and I moved on and competed elsewhere and put my skills to good use. I am a SCW United States Champion now and I am going to go further. But I remembered my shame. I remembered it all. And the call came from them asking me to be in this match. Harvey's match. A title on the line. Redemption in the form of Hardcore gold.
And Harvey and Ka'Derrion in the match open to any abuse I can dish on them. My prayers are answered. My targets clear.
The others in the match do not matter. Dangerous Dan never did anything either with his talent because he was held down like I was. The rest are losers. But Harvey and Ka'Derrion are thinking they are going to win. They will not. They are only here for me to get my revenge on them and destroy them once and for all. I will find redemption for my past failures. I will take this win and I will go far with it getting back on the road to the top of wrestling history.
Scott Caine is coming home. Hide your loved ones and be ready to pay.
The sun is shining through the clouds and it is a hot afternoon. The grass is green and well maintained because it has to be. The clients demand it. A man is heard yelling something and a thwack is heard. A golf ball is in the air and it lands rolling on the ground. The golfer follows his hot and you see that it is Scott Caine. He has on a visor to protect against the sun and golfing clothes.
Moses Magnum - That went 300 feet you are a natural at this game! I was looking for a challenge.
Moses stands out of the cart and he walks to the driving range. Scott does not look at him he is thinking about the shot he hit.
Moses Magnum - It is my turn to hit son step aside.
Scott walks off and Moses puts his tee in and sets his golf ball on it. The caddy gives him his 3 driver and he swings and hits it further then Scott's went but not by much.
Moses Magnum - Lovely conditions for golf. The wind is light and not effecting us. We will have a good match you and me.
They get in the cart and the caddy takes them towards the golf balls. Moses waits for Scott to speak but he doesnt.
Moses Magnum - This will be a long afternoon without conversation.
Scott Caine - What would you want me to say to you Moses?
Moses Magnum - We could talk about the weather or the local sports team. Or we could talk about your match coming up that I heard about. I thought you had left the GCWA.
Scott Caine - I did leave them. But I am going back one last time. They wanted their best for their final night so they called me and offered me good pay and a title shot.
Moses Magnum - It's not about the money I know you Scott. You have money now you are successful. You are going back for pride.
Scott Caine - Pride can be a good motivator.
Moses Magnum - You of all people should know that it can be your downfall to.
Scott Caine - Yes I know. It was when I wrestled there before. I was proud of being a champion and I let my pride get to me. I did not think I would lose and I did. To Harvey Danger who did not deserve to beat me.
Moses Magnum - Yet you did and he won your title and you lost your way. I see it all the time it happens to the best of us.
Scott remembers the day he lost to Harvey and it all went to shit. He will never forget it. It was the day he lost his faith in himself and others and stopped caring. But he found his care later and now he cares too much.
Scott Caine - I know that it happened to me but I have changed. They will see how much I have changed.
Moses Magnum - Will they remember you? I heard one saying he didn't know who you were.
Scott Caine - You mean Xtreme what a joke he is. How he is champion is a mystery beyond me he is terrible and I look forward to winning the Hardcore Title from him.
They reach their balls and Scott gets out first because his is further. He gets his 9 iron and he hits a good drive that reaches the green.
Moses Magnum - Lovely and you have not played much before?
Scott Caine - Some in college but not lately.
Moses hits his own shot and it lands next to the pin but does not go in the hole.
Moses Magnum - You are good but you are facing a master. I was taught by great men.
The caddy drives them to the green.
Moses Magnum - I am intrigued by you which is why I arranged this golfing trial. I wanted to see if you would rise to the ocassion or if you had lost your nerve still.
Scott Caine - With these stakes I am not going to let myself fail.
Moses Magnum - I like your confidence but will it work for you in the ring?
Scott Caine - It has before and it will again.
Moses Magnum - Even against Marcus Ka'Derrion the man who put you out of action in the parking lot?
Scott remembers getting hurt. He could have moved on in the tournament but he did not have the will and he let Marcus Ka'Derrion beat him and fell off the grid. It was a humbling day for him one that he does not like remembering.
Scott Caine - God has blessed me by bringing Marcus back one more time. I have wanted revenge on him for what he did to me. To give me a match with him with no rules means that I can exact the revenge due to me.
Moses Magnum - You want revenge on these men but is it about revenge or the title?
Scott Caine - Both.
Moses Magnum - And if you cannot have both?
Scott Caine - I want what is coming to me. Respect. Glory. The sign that I meant something to the GCWA. The title will do that but so will being the one to end Marcus Ka'Derrion completely.
Moses Magnum - You surprise me. I thought becuase you took this challenge that you were soft. Many would have just left.
Scott Caine - You think I would leave instead of facing you? I am not that man.
Moses Magnum - I am happy. But you still have to beat me to come through and the odds are against you. I am a pro. Only your best can be good enough to stay with me.
Scott Caine - Then my best is what you will get.
They are at the green and they get out their putters. Moses marks his ball place and lifts his ball since Scott shoots first. Scott aims the putt and hits it but it is too soft. The ball falls short. Moses is smiling. Scott hits it again and puts it in for par on the Par 4 course. But Moses is next to the cup. He puts it in for a Birdie and takes a one stroke lead.
Moses Magnum - You are falling behind now Scott. You have many holes left. Do you still think you can beat me?
Scott Caine - I do not know if I can. But I must. I will beat you and then I will beat them all at heat Wave and they will know that Scott Caine was the best of them.
Moses Magnum - Such pride you have. Will it be your downfall or salvation? We will find out. To the next hole Charles.
The caddy drives them on and they go around the corner. Behind them is the clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse men are standing all armed. They are listening to things on the radio for word. The caddy's voice can be heard telling them the scores.
Guard 1 - The boss is winning.
Guard 2 - He always wins.
Guard 1 - It is bad news for you early but keep your hope alive. Maybe we won't be shooting you. Maybe we will.
Guard 2 - Dont taunt him we don't want him riled up again. He is a strong one.
Guard 2 - If he tries I will bang his head in again with my gun or waste a perfectly good bullet on him. The boss wants him alive by the end of the match but he did not say in perfect health.
Between the guards is Penance. He is chained to a chair and he sits angry and fuming. The chains are cutting into his wrists. He is bruised and he is bleeding.
Penance - I have faced worse before. You know not what you do.
Guard 1 - Shut up fucker. Stay quiet and pray for your friend to get a miracle. That's your only chance.
Penance spits on the floor and it is red. He waits for his only friend in the world to come back to get him, or his chance to do something about it. There is always hope and there is always a chance.
A lot is at stake for me and Penance. Lives on the line. I am forced into a deal with a devil in order to save my long time friend the only one who stood by me when the world fell out from under me. I wont fail him. He would not let me fail.
Bring all the fruits and geeks on. They are all moths to the flame of Scott Caine. I will burn them all and I will be the sole one standing. Prepare for a Caining of biblical proportions.
