 Sources Updated On Svn

I have found what was wrong in WGL for nds and, after a big headache and a lake of blood, I've fixed it. biggrin.gif
Now WinDS should compile and run fine, even with devkitPro r19, waiting for even more headaches when r20 will come out. pissed.gif
In the next release (after dkP r20) I hope to replace the present libfat with the new one with dldi support.

 Sources Uploaded On Svn
Posted by [Papero] - 06-24-06 13:40 - 4 comments
I have released latest sources on SourceForge SVN. This is an unstable release, because some bugs here and there and, most important thing, it needs devkitPro r18. New devkitPro r19 does not work at all with GBAWinS, but should work with WinDS.

In order to download it, you need a SVN client (like Tortoise SVN for windows).

Feel free to play around with source code and submit your fixes or improvements smile.gif

Gba Wins And Winds Are Still Alive
Posted by [Papero] - 06-18-06 19:29 - 1 comments
A short news to say that the work goes on tongue.gif
We are setting up the svn repository on sourceforge with the latest sources (kindly provided by LiraNuna), so it should be easier for everyone to get an updated devkit.
We would like to thank LiraNuna for his great contribution: unfortunately he decided to switch to other interests, though he has promised that will continue to follow our community as coder wink.gif

 Winds Discontinued
Posted by LiraNuna - 06-10-06 12:23 - 10 comments
I lost intrest in WinDS, as people lost intrest in it.

I hope someone else pick up the development, I'm sure WinDS can be re-written better.
Sources are located on Sourceforge.

So long,
LiraNuna.

The End Of 2005, And The Winds Compo
Posted by LiraNuna - 01-1-06 17:33 - 10 comments
As you all might had celebrated, Today is the start of a new year - 2006, and also the finish of our first coding competition - WinDS Coding Compo 2006.

Let's review a quick summary of the year 2005 :
(Quick reminder : on November 2004, The Nintendo DS had been released opening us, the developers doors to a wonderful system to develop to)
Our forums, had been exploded with the requests to port GBA WinS to the DS - and use the DS's touchscreen as a replacement to GBA WinS' Pointer. On 2005's start, a Coding compo called GBAX2005 had started, And gave me an inspiration to start porting GBA WinS to the DS under the name NDS WinS (later changed to WinDS), and send it as an entery to the competition to get WinS reputation.
Surprisingly, NDS WinS won a respectable 2nd place and had gained an amazing success toward the home-brew world: WinS had received some amazing reviews and the forum's member counter had increased in about 200 new users.

After some time, The development team had been working for a long time developing a WinDS devKit - so coders could create their own WinDS applications and share it with other developers and user.
After the devKit had been released, It seemed that no one had created an application and/or a game - So we revived an old idea - a coding competition!
The WinDS Coding Competition 2006 has officially started on the 15th to November - running for 45 days until today (the 1st to January 2006).

So what about the competition? you might ask. We have collected a nice amount of 9 entries! (Excluding [Papero]'s application which would not be judged!) covering all aspects : Games, Applications and Emulators (Yes! we got an emulator!)
We should upload a Competition Distro with all of the entries as soon as we can,
And will publish the results as son as we would done judging!

What about 2006?
We can only hope that developers will keep coding cool applications (such as the competition's entries!) even without a coding compo, and a nice big community!

So - Happy new year, and thanks to all people who had participated!

Two Weeks Left For The Compo!
Posted by Francesco - 12-17-05 16:48 - 3 comments
This news is just to recall to everybody what's happening on the site: we are running a development compo with nice prizes for the winners! Two weeks remains to submit an app in time to enter the compo!

If you're new to all this, take a look at the compo rules here. Two weeks are enough to make a nice WinDS app from scratch, try getting the 1.0 devkit here if you don't believe it wink.gif.

For all the guys already coding: well done, but there's so much more you can do in 14 days! wink.gif

Thank you all for being active in this initiative!

 Compo Rules Update
Posted by Francesco - 11-29-05 16:45 - 0 comments
We had to do a slight update to the compo rules to handle possible problems with the use of external libs. The new rule is:

"If you use libs or sources in general that also other people could use (publicly availiable), don't link them inside your AppLib. In this case you have to submit also the external dependancies in the package of your entry".

This will allow us to link together AppLibs using the same external libs.

Thanks for your patience.
