Noelle nodded. "That's definitely a possibility. But what are you and Keo planning on doing with Sira? What is her plan this time to get out of trouble?"

Aphrodite shook her head. "I'm not sure yet. What I am sure of is that Sira claims that she wants to help Evelyn, but I don't see why she'd suddenly take interest in her."

Julian's Office - Tulane University

Richard sighed as he reached the door that led to Julian's office. Although he hadn't visited his brother here for quite a few years, he still remembered where it was. Of course, Richard knew that if Julian was with a student, he'd have to bide his time and wait until said student left. Fortunately, though, the door was open when he arrived, which Richard took as a good sign.

Julian smiled as he saw his brother walk in. "Richard, what a nice surprise. And I was just thinking about you too."

Richard returned his smile. "Is that right? Well, I must've read your mind then." Clearing his throat, he added, "Julian, I know that this isn't the best time, but I wanted to talk to you."

Julian raised an eyebrow. "Really? Well, I have plenty of time. My next class isn't until 4:00, so what's on your mind, Little Adonis?"

Richard took a seat and it was a full minute before he spoke again. "This may not be your area of expertise, but have you ever heard of a vampire named Sira?"

The very mention of that name caused Julian to tense. He hadn't heard that name in a long time and he was certain he had heard the last of it too. Ignoring the fact that his heart was hammering in his chest, he decided to answer Richard's question, however difficult it was going to be.

"To answer your question, Richard, not only have I heard of Sira, I know her."

"You know her?" said Richard. "How so?"

"It was during the time that I was trapped in that book Priapus cursed me into," said Julian. "The book somehow made its way to Romania and into Sira's bed chamber. How she got her hands on it is beyond my comprehension. Anyway, the bitch summoned me and for the next month, I did whatever she told me to do, give her pleasure and take none for myself."

"Shit," said Richard. "I had no idea. Did she..."

"Drink my blood?" said Julian. "No, she didn't. Sira may have been a vampire, but she never once used her fangs on me. The only thing she used me for was my body. I suspected that she had others that she took blood from. Although it was only for a month, it was the worst month of my existence."

Richard felt for Julian as he listened to his story. Gods, no wonder he tensed up when he mentioned Sira's name. It made him sick imagining the kind of twisted pleasure she got from defiling herself on him.

After a while, he said, "I'm sorry, Julian, I shouldn't have asked you that."

Julian shook his head. "No, it's okay. You wanted to know and it wasn't doing me any good keeping that inside all this time. Though, I am curious as to why you mentioned her name in the first place."

"She contacted Callie on Halloween," said Richard. "Apparently, she wants to live a normal life and to forget all the things she did in the past, even though she can't make amends for it."

"I see, well given my experience with her, I wouldn't trust her, especially not around my family," said Julian. "The bitch is bad news, Richard, just as bad as Artemis is. If I were you, I'd be extra careful. No telling what this will lead to. I'd trust Priapus before I'd ever trust Sira."

Richard raised an eyebrow of his own. "Yeah, but you don't trust Priapus."

Julian smiled. "Exactly."

Noelle growled at that. "She will not touch my daughter. Why would she want to help Evelyn? Is she in trouble?" Her face then turned into concerned mother look. She went to Aphrodite and said. "Please tell me, what's going on over there?"

Aphrodite gulped before she replied, "My other sister, Artemis, returned a while ago and she has Jericho in her clutches. Evelyn is doing everything she can to get him away from her, but her attempts have met with failure. Sira must've found out about it somehow and wants to help get rid of Artemis once and for all."

[Soteria Parthenopaeus]

Noelle, listening to this, pulled away from Aphrodite and said. "That's it. I don't care what it takes, me and Ion are coming over there tonight. My daughter needs me."

Aphrodite wanted to discourage Noelle, but decided against it, knowing that it wouldn't work. Judging from her tone, it was clear that she already made up her mind.

"If that's what you want, then I suppose it would be all right for you and Ion to come," she said. "It might be a good opportunity for you to meet Callie, Kyros, and Xander." She hugged her stepdaughter-in-law before getting up. "I'll let Keo know immediately."

That being said, she disappeared.

Demon World

Aphrodite arrived at home about five minutes later to see Keo waiting for her. She smiled at him before going to him and hugging him.

"I went to see Noelle. I told her everything that's going on. She and Ion are coming here tonight."

New Orleans High School

Calligenia was on her way to her next class when she ran into Derek Carter, Charles' friend and the guy Richelle was supposedly going out with.

"What do you want, Derek?"

Derek smirked at her. "Nothing."

However, Calligenia didn't buy it. "Bullshit, it's not nothing. You can't fool me. Charles sent you, didn't he? I can smell him on you."

With another smirk, Derek approached her, took her arm, and threw her against the locker, after which he placed both hands on her arms and held her still. "I don't know what you can possibly see in that guy you're with, Vanator. He's nothing but an old man. You ought to be with someone younger, like me."

"Don't flatter yourself, asshole," said Calligenia, struggling against his hold. "Dev treats me like a lady, unlike someone like you who hangs around with a rapist like Charles."

Derek, hearing that, growled and slapped her. "You're a fiesty little bitch, aren't you? That's good, I like 'em fiesty. Makes the game more interesting."

Just when he was about to make his next move, Calligenia growled, her eyes glowing black, summoned her powers, and knocked Derek to the floor before kicking him in the crotch and disappearing.

Sanctuary

Upon arriving at Sanctuary, Calligenia sat down at table nearest the bar, ignoring the looks of the patrons. Gods, why the hell did Derek suddenly go after her like that? He was a worthless human who only thought with his cock and not his brain. To make matters even worse, she had come dangerously close to letting her animal instincts take over.

Feeling tears welling up in her eyes, she put her head down and began to sob.

Dev was just coming out the kitchen and going back to his post at the front door, he saw Callie sitting at the bar. Going over to her instantly, he smelled tears coming from her. The bear in him wanted to kill whoever made her cry.

Wrapping his arms around her, he said softly. "What's wrong, chere?"

Keo, hearing this, cursed loudly. "Dammit! As much as I want Ion here, he can't. He'll make what Evelyn did to Sira look like a hug. He'd kill her, not that I would mind in the least, but still, he can't come here."

Aphrodite sighed. "I wanted to talk Noelle out of it, but it wouldn't have worked. She would've insisted on coming anyway."

Calligenia sniffed as she looked up at Dev, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Oh, Devimoo, it was terrible. Derek Carter, Charles' asshole friend, tried to make trouble. He...He called you an old man and said I should be with someone younger, like him."

A sob escaped her throat as she added, "I was able to get him off me, but I nearly let my animal instinct take over. That's why I came here, because I'm scared of the animal in me, of what it could do if I should accidentally lose control of it."
