I love the smell of stew simmering on the stove!

It's been raining on and off (mostly on) around here for several days. Not hard rain mind you, but soft steady rain. It's also rather cool with the temperature only in the 70's today. This weather has us ready for some good old "throw it all in" stew and some jalapeno cornbread.

What are you cooking for supper tonight??

That stew sounds really great.

I have no idea what the little lady has in mind for us this evening, but I do know that whatever it may be it will be tremendously tasty. No I am not just sucking up, I really mean that anything that she prepares is always fantastic and prepared with lots of care and finesse.

I like turnips but my husband doesn't.... hummmm stew might be a good way to sneak them in! I might try that next time. ;)

Ours has steak, potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, corn, pinto beans, onion, pimento peppers, tomatoes, (the last three items are from our garden) and lots of spice. It's about ready to eat, waiting on the cornbread to finish baking. I've been looking forward to this ALL day. :)

I love a good homemade stew!

We had porterhouse steaks, corn on the cob, steak fries and sautéed mushrooms for dinner tonight and it hit the spot! :)

so glad there is not a button that sends smells on here. You should have smelled the boston butt when my hubby was smoking them. Hickory flavor for 12 hours. MMMMMMMMM!

I think that I did just get a whiff through my monitor of that Boston Butt that had been smoked with hickory.
Must be a new feature from HP B) :P :D

I can almost smell all that good cooking. Yum!! I have a HP but it must not have come with the smell-a-post option.

Our stew & cornbread was mighty tasty... if I do say so myself. ;) We have plenty left over for another meal and a lunch (or two) for my DH to take to work.

Sounds like most of us ate well yesterday!! Isn't great to be able to enjoy wonderful meals with our loved ones? We are truly blessed.
