Subject: Fw: Not In The Orange County Newspaper

Subject: Not In The Orange County Newspaper

Subject: NOT IN THE ORANGE COUNTY NEWSPAPER

This is a very good letter to the editor. This woman made some good points..
For some reason, people have difficulty structuring their arguments when arguing against supporting the currently proposed immigration revisions.. This lady made the argument pretty simple. NOT printed in the Orange County Paper...................

Newspapers simply won't publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which does not agree with the philosophy they're pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great letter to the editor that should have been published; but, with your help it will get published via cyberspace!

From: "David LaBonte"
My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to "print" it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register:

Dear Editor:
So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France andJapan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and theEmperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

(signed) Rosemary LaBonte

KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET!! LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!!

I sincerely hope this letter gets read by millions of people all across the nation!!

I got this one, too, and it's right on!

Also -- I looked up the immigration bill that Arizona passed. Ironic, it's a BILL...it had to pass the House, the Senate and THEN get the Governor's signature. However, NO ONE yelled until the Governor signed it!!!!!

I scanned thru it -- I believe FoxNews is right when they say it ENFORCES the Federal law. I've read bills as part of my job -- for 20 years I read bills. I see nothing in this that should cause all the upheavel except the A$$holes that want to be here without going thru proper procedures are mad!!! Just think.....if they don't follow the rules to get here, what makes people think they'll follow the rules once they're here????

Here's the bill --- on the Arizona Legislature's website......SB1070 We KNOW they aren't following the letter of the law.

Being a retired LEO, I still have friends in the business, including several Border Patrol and CBP Officers. They have been told by their supervisors that they will be working short handed as Obama has placed a total hiring freeze on all Border Officer position to also include not filling any positions created by resignations, retirements and transfers. Obama said they were over staffed and there would be no need for any replacements or hiring until the manning level was reduced by 25%. Needless to say, they are very disillusioned with the administration and are looking to leave Federal service and find jobs in the State, County or City arena. By reducing the Officers on the front line, he is opening our borders to people who will support him and his socialist programs in the voting booth...

Sure, please pass it on. I had some doubts about this and checked. They have not hired any new Officers since Obama was sworn in, other than replacements until the 1st of this year and now it is a total freeze.

This is the first time I find myself agreeing with our beloved President. Yes, I think we have too many officers guarding the border too. These valuable officers need to be used to capture and deport illegals already here, not participate in interdiction operations.

I discovered the solution while serving in Germany in the 80's. The answer, an aggressively defended Iron Curtain.

First put up signs in English and Spanish every 25 ft. warning of the barrier and our new interdiction policies. Next build one chain-link "warning fence." 15 ft should be high enough, topped and bottomed with 4 spools or razor wire. The fence will have sensors to warn our boys if cut (supplementing the sign mounted sensor net). Next comes the minefield. We would also need downward exploding mines (wired to ground sensors) buried deep to discourage tunneling. Follow this up with another fence similar to the first with command detonated claymores and more sensors. Instead of machine gun towers, remote operated camera towers (spaced as terrain dictates) will suffice. These would be monitored 24/7 by remote, interlinked, armed and armored op's with multiple redundancies and tied in to a centralized, supervisory op's to maintain their integrity against equipt. failure, subversion and sabatoge. These will be supported with fast responding assault helicopters, FAV's mounted with 50's and MK-19's and light armor held in reserve for those determined efforts. The physical barrier would only be used to slow or warn determined invaders. The real threat would come from our troops, most of which need to be pulled from foreign lands and stationed across our border. They would enjoy great, realistic training and excellent target practice - better than any range. The capture and return order needs to be rescended, and stop-at-all-costs order needs to be implemented. The use of deadly force will be avoided of possible, (if it can be determined that the intruders are unarmed and respond to commands) but will not be discouraged if neccessary. The invasion of our country by assumed armed drug gangs is not subject to police action, but an agressive and determined military response.

Illegals here still need to be captured, detained and deported, per state and federal law, but with the border secure and reentry costly and impractical, there is hope of reducing the problem to managable levels.

I don't know? Can you mount dual GE Miniguns on a predator? :P

The details can be worked out later. I wouldn't object to an AC-130 Spectre Gunship or an A-10 Warthog flying close air support either if we had a few lying around unused - mix-em up so the enemy stays off-guard. What I'd really like to see is some old Russian MI-24 Hinds pressed back into service. We wouldn't use them for patrolling the border, just put them in the air to interdict the local drug cartels who think they're bad. Paint a big US flag on their belly so there's no doubt who's coming to kick their *ss.

Like my Ex used to say. "That'll make their but make buttonholes".

Seems to me, The illegal aliens / criminalsought to be easy to round up. they all come together to protest laws about catching them. Just get them while they are there.
