Just found your forum and decided - why not? I'm kind of laid up today - spent the day yesterday waxing the car hauler and can't move today... Not a good way to spend your last month of snowbirding! LOL

We are in Moore Haven, Florida at The Glades RV Resort. Have been down here since January 7th anticipating the warm weather that my sister in law promised me we would have all winter, but alas - we have picked the 7th coldest winter on record to "enjoy" Florida sunshine and heat! Got to keep that sense of humor going all the time... At least you don't have to shovel cold! Unlike the folks at home who are trying to survive one of the snowiest winters on record in NE Ohio - who are SHOVELING their way to work and back every day.

We came down in a 1995 Allegro Class c home and quickly decided that if we didn't make a move to a larger unit - there would be 2 of us who would not return home in the same condition as we left. Those would be the two who insisted in being underfoot in the 2X3 foot space that comprised the "kitchen". So with that in mind, we went to a couple RV shows to look at models and options and then some of the local dealers to see what was available on their used lots. We found an Alfa See Ya and immediately fell in love with it. It is 40 foot long and has a huge side slide and a closet slide in the bedroom. We love it's light woodwork and airiness inside. From there we started looking on the internet and finally found one that was $20,000 cheaper and in much better shape. The former owner corrected all the problems with it and we now have a just like new coach. He took immaculate care of it, so besides giving it a good carpet shampooing when we get home and a good coat of wax on the outside, it is darn near perfect!

We also ride motorcycles - Dan has a HD and I have a Vstar 1100. We brought them down in the car hauler and also have a Ranger Tracker Pro190. The Dodge 3500 will pull the car hauler and the coach will pull the boat to go home.

So that's a little about our first winter as snowbirds. Hope to hear what others are doing and how they do it! Drive/ride safe! dotndan
