I want to make DVDs with pictures, music and I want to be able to put captions on the pictures.
I want to make slideshows to show people what we have here to offer. What software would be good for this? Thanks |

I know of two, one I have on my computer, which is called Windows Movie Maker, and then there is one online called One True Media: onetruemedia.com
With the Windows Movie Maker you can use MP3's, I have used this program to make slideshows of my own photos set to music and can add captions to the photos. |

Kenny,
The best way to get what you want is to go buy yourself an Apple computer. It comes loaded with iMovie software that will allow you to do what you want easily. After all these years of owning pc's I gave in and got a MacBook Pro....and it was my best computer investment EVER! I now make videos for our church every week to post to the website. I just made one last night of our hayride and chile feed and added music to it too. It is easy to use and very intuitive. My struggles with the software in the pc world leave me with no suggestions for you to accomplish what you want there. Good luck to you. I lurk on the forum daily and only post when I have something to say. |

For a Windows based machine... Pro Show Gold. It's $70, not cheap, but a LOT cheaper than buying an Apple to do what is really a simple job. On edit: I see a program called PhotoStory is now the top rated slideshow creation software on http://photo-slideshow-software-review.toptenreviews.com/. I've been using Proshow Gold for the last few years with much success and no problems, but don't know anything about Photostory. You can download a free trial version of Photostory from the Magix webpage at: http://www.magix.com/us/free-download/. I just downloaded the trial to see how it stacks up against Proshow Gold. |
