One of my group 27's was found dry today.

It had blown the cap off one of the cells even.

Re-filled with water, and it's on the charger.

Is there any chance it might recover, or do I need to take it back to wally world and get another one???

Take it back to wally world. If the cap came off that means there was a gas build up in that cell. Chances are that those plates in that cell are bad. Also check your charging system if over charging it will cause the battery to boil and the gas build up this will flat ruin the plates in the battery
