When I saw the headline I thought he might be working on the illegal immigration issue. Sadly, I was mistaken. :)

Everyone knows if you don't charge the batteries in your laser, it won't work...  <_<

Of course, my guess is the idiot reporter got the quote wrong.

I'd agree with Mike, that the story got muttled by the reporter, rather than garbled by the gov.

Yep, "Cocked and Locked" or conditon 1 is the way to go. The Gov. obviously carries in condition 3. He was still able to take care of business though. :)

Speaking of the different conditions. Last Fridays work and shoot was at a shop I’ve never been to and was carry a 1911 in mode 2 ‘chambered but not cocked & locked’. My friend is friends with owner and after about an hour of shooting the breeze we go out to get the range bags from my truck and when I lean over to sit them down the 1911 falls out of its shoulder holster and hits the floor inside the shop.

Talk about embarrassing. The staff asked IS that loaded? (they have the normal no-loaded weapons allowed sign) And said…yep and picked it up and put it my bag and said… this has never happened before. They were cool about it and one of the guys said at least it happened here and not at a mall.

The holster snap must have caught my seat when reaching into the backseat to get the bags. You learn something new everyday I guess, but talk about first impressions…

I know you guys can appreciate how awkward that was!

Remember "True Grit"?

Lawyer: Isn't it true you came opon Mr *** with a deady six shot revolver?

Rooster: (aka John Wayne) I always like to be ready.

Lawyer: Was this gun cocked and loaded?

Rooster: Well a gun thats cocked and UN-loaded ain't good for much!
