Title: Paint for front sight?
Mike Smith - October 25, 2010 01:07 PM (GMT)
Hi All:
On my shotgun's rifled barrel, the front sight has a small drop of white paint that is hard for me to see. I want to repaint with florescent orange. Will a small bottle of Testor's paint work or is there a special paint I should use?

Sure it will work, just make sure it is clean. I use fingernail polish on my front bead and it works great.

I second fingernail polish. After it gets chipped, it's easy to remove and refresh.

Fluorescent orange finger nail polish??? Who knew?
Cheap enough. I'll give it a try!

They do make "special" paint for it but I use white out or as others have already said, fingernail polish.
Any good gun shop /sporting goods store should have the "special" paint, or Dollar Tree for fingernail polish if you don't have a wife or girl friend (maybe both?).

LOL Deen! Yup, I can get fingernail polish from both my wife and my girlfriends. :D :D ;)

And yet another vote for finger nail polish. Easy to remove too with nail polish remover when you need to do it over or if you want to change colour to match your latest vehicle ;)

I could not find fluorescent orange, so I got awesome orange in neon.
The two women that helped me find this got a kick out of it, and wanted to know what I was dressing up as on Halloween.... :D
